I heard someone saying this nearby and then the whole world grew dark.
I thought that my life would pass in front of my eyes but it seems that you arrive in a dark place where you can't move, feel, see, hear anything.
I spent some time thinking that this place is a hallucination and that I will soon die but after a hour or two I got bored and started thinking.
Well I am a retired author so I am pretty good at thinking. I thought of some ideas for my last book I was going to publish on my 80th birthday which unfortunately I won't have.
After the confusion died a overwhelming excitement came along. Magic existed! And I found it! The man named Ignia told me about the truth and showed me something no trick could accomplish. TERRAFORMING! He even conjured fire out of nowhere!
I hadn't thought that my life long search would end on my deathbed. Quite literally.
I looked back at my life and realized that I had only one regret, not being able to use magic myself.
He told me that I am too weak to use magic in a place without mana. It's a familiar term I and many other authors often used to mention mythical energies.
I was lost in my thoughts for a day or two. I was realizing that I was not hallucinating. I couldn't feel anything nor see or hear something but despite that ,this place was quite warm and cozy.
It was almost like I was back to that old cottage where I lived with my parents for almost 20 years. How loved I was there. They passed away when I was 43? I can't seem to remember.
Atleast they died so happily, smiling while holding each other's hand and my mom patting my head like she used to when I was younger.
I spent a lot of time remembering the good old days and as I was beginning to think that I will remain in this place forever the world around me went from pitch black to white and I suddenly found myself in a conference room surrounded by people dressed like drama characters. There were some birds and animals too, and all of them were staring at me.
From the corner of my eyes I saw Ignia sitting at one of the chairs in the corner of the conference room.
I was barely able to wave my hands at him before all my attention was drawn away by the majestic figure sitting on the sole throne in the room.
I could not see anything about the figure on the throne but still felt an overwhelming awe from the figure's presence alone.
"Truly a wonderful child!" the deep voice resonated throughout the hall. All the people /creatures present here stiffened up which led me to believe that voice belonged to the person on the throne.
"Ignia!" hearing his name Ignia suddenly appeared in front of the throne with one knee on the ground.
"Yes my lord!"
"I am truly happy that you brought such a wonderful child here. I will give you a wisp of eternal flame and a king earth spirit as a reward"

Ignia will visit you in a week or 2 so ask any question you have from him. I am the sun god Helios, and yes I am going to not listen to a word you want to say and seeing that you are not going to think about what you want anytime soon I declare you the chosen of Ignia, he will give you a spell of your liking and I am going to grant any one wish of yours.

I was talking with God! Wait, don't get distracted. he will fulfill any wish of mine!
I started thinking about the thing I want the most. Ability to use magic? No, the world I am going to will have magic. Monstrous talent? No, I want to learn magic not become a overlord or something.
I thought about the most important things in my life and decided what I want.
"Oh! an interesting choice. Well off you go!" the world became dark once again.
I waited for something to happen for a while that felt like forever.
I started to grow frustrated and lonely in this warm but dark place but the many thoughts in my head kept me occupied.
After a eternity of wait I felt something.
I felt something gently push me and saw a small peck of light that grew larger and larger until I was surrounded by light.
It took a moment for me to adjust my eyes and as soon as I did I saw that I was being stared by a gaint old woman!
"waaaaaa!" I shouted out in surprise. Heh? Why does my voice sound like a newborn's cry? Ehh? Why are my hands so small? AM I A BABY!
"yahwyxjdhwgifwuhalfuwhe" the old woman shouted in happiness and soon a tall man burst out in the room I was currently in.
My eyes widened in shock at the sight of the fairly young man who snatched me from the old lady's hands and was watching me with a grin on his face.
How could I ever forget the one who gave me all I could ever ask for.

I heard someone gasp for air and as I looked over I started crying. There she was, looking at me with those warm eyes
my mother!
God had fulfilled the wish I asked for splendidly. I had wanted to be able to see my parents again. He made them my parents again.
Oh god! Thank you, thank you so much!! I cried till I falled asleep from exhaustion. I didn't know why I was being gifted such happiness but I'll always remember the grand figure who gave me this gift.
~~~After some time~~~
I woke up after what felt like a few seconds. Looking around I found myself in a wooden room on a bed next to mom who was sleeping quite soundly.
Everything was normal looking but I found something weird. Why the hell am I able to see! Aren't babies not able to see clearly for almost 6 months?
Anyway It's a magic world so no need to bring earth's facts here.
There was a window next to the bed we were sleeping on and unfortunately the bed was too low for me to be able to see anything outside the window except the sky.
It was night time as far as I can tell and judging by the temperature it should be summer.
The god and the voice I heard before being transported to the dark place said something about the system didn't they?
"ehuh" ah yes. I am a baby and babies can't talk.
Though it seems that this was enough as a screen popped up in front of me.
