Chapter 3 - Will There be a Second Reincarnation?

It's been around 8 days since my encounter with those 5 goblins, I've encountered other groups of them, many others, to be exact. They're just so common, right next to me there are other three, and... Well, let's say there aren't anymore.

I kinda feel bad, deep, very deep down. The more I slaughtered the less I felt anything from doing so.

But keeping murder morale aside I discovered many new things: One, I'm capable of regenerating limbs, I happened to have my arm chopped off by a goblin once... Okay, twice, no more than that... And a leg another time... Anyways, those parts completely regrew back!

It works in two ways, if I leave it be it'll regenerate in a few seconds, but if I get the cut off part and try to attach it to my body the regrowth is almost instant, and I tried to reattach an arm in the wrong position, and it fixed it alone! And I can also jump really high and run super-fast! How awesome is that?

What am I now? A demon? Because humans can't regrow limbs at least in my original world, nor do they sleep in blood bubbles in the middle of the desert.

I also discovered some things about this waste land: There are ruins buried in the sand everywhere. Most of them are inaccessible and I'm not going to dig, but others are accessible. Some look like simple houses, others look like a public space, you know what that means? There was once a civilization here!

And the desert only formed after this civilization was well established according to the development of the buildings, knowing there are many powerful monsters lurking around I'm inclined to think all this sand wasn't some natural phenomena.

Talking about powerful monsters, I've seen some... Rather interesting creatures: Many, really, many monstrous variations of desert animals from my old world, like scarabs, scorpions, some spiders, worms... The worms are simply nasty, each blood droplet makes me want to chop off the dirty limb and regrow a new one.

Other than that I found some lizards that resemble dragons, like developing dragons, those are wyrms, aren't they? I avoided all of them, of course, they'd easily kill me, and eat me for dinner!

And last I found a majestic creature: The giants, some of them are made out of boulders, others are made out of sandstone, others dirt. One thing is certain, they reach at least 100 meters of height.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Simply moving makes the ground shake and when they fight... Oh boy, I've seen many giants alone, but a fight of giants was a once in a lifetime sight. They punch like boxers, each punch makes everything shake, their feet crack the ground and when one of them dies... Everything forming the body goes flying like Lego pieces disassembling. I watched from a faraway distance of course, hopefully I'll never be the aim of one of those things.

Which brings me to my next analysis: I said that those lizards would eat me, but nothing here really eats anything. I myself haven't felt hungry nor thirsty all this time. I've seen many creatures killing each other, but after that they don't eat the body of the defeated, it just stays there 'till it disappears into a kind of gas with different colors depending on the species.

Where I want to get is, things don't need to eat, those giants sure don't have a system inside the body like humans do, and a mist comes out of the dead bodies being decomposed, so probably, possibly, these lifeforms, including me, are made of something else beyond tissues and organs. I wonder if we are really alive, but if we aren't, how can we die?

As I think that I head out of a ruin I've been exploring, nothing found, sadly. There's a creature I've never seen before: Blue skin, monstrous face, bull horns, with a massive battle axe in its back in a better state than the one the goblins use looking at me with a horde of worms dead behind it. I think that's what people call a troll in my previous world.

"HAAARG"

It screams as it charges towards me, not enough to scare me anymore, this happened at every wild encounter I've come across. I jump over the thing, but as I'm above it, the troll grabs my leg, rips it off and slams me against the ground. I'm in complete despair. Not because I'm cornered, that happened many times before, but because of the sheer strength this thing used.

As I'm on the ground the troll prepares a fist to punch me, but I'm faster. With one leg I push myself away and use my hands to maneuver a flip, creating some distance. The thing runs to me and punches but I dodge, with my healed leg I throw the strongest kick I can deal, aiming at the head.

Yet it puts an arm in the way blocking my attack. My despair grows. Not only did it block my strongest kick, but it only caused enough damage to expose the arm bone, it should've at least ripped it off.

My leg still in the place of the attack is grabbed and ripped off, with the other hand it grabs my neck and throws me to the ground. Now holding the axe that was stored in his back the troll stabs me right in the torso.

I'm stuck to the ground, no way to run, with my leg back I try to kick again, but the thing smashes both of them, my arms are out of reach.

Now in one knee this thing starts punching me, really, really hard.

My legs and arms are extremely hurt, smashed, to be exact.

My body can't regenerate in time.

I feel the axe getting pulled out, dragging me up for a bit, then loosening and leaving me on the ground.

My torso is crushed. A fist forms in front of my head.

My consciousness slips.

I'm scared.

I hate this world.
