Chapter 2: New Life

Chapter 2: New Life

After waking up, I immediately thought about my wife and what I should do. Well, for now, I should try understanding the situation and think about my beloved later. Now, back to the matter at hand, I found myself in quite the strange predicament. As I looked at my surroundings, it seemed as I was in a room. From what I understood, I was just two doors away from my parents, whose names were Al and Ellen, and in that same room was where my younger sister, Sylvia Valro, also slept. I found that out by opening my door a little and then taking a peak around. I listened into the door, and heard a man, a woman, and my sister, who was the closest to the door, sleeping. My mother, father, and sister shared the same room, unlike they did with me a long time ago. After I confirmed my surroundings, I went back to my bed, where I looked at a few more things.

However, no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't leave her in the back of my mind. I hope she doesn't do anything bad to herself because of my death? No, she wouldn't. She may be balling her eyes out, but from what I remember of her, she'll have her friends help her out as much as possible. Atleast, that's what I hope.

As I thought about my memories, it seemed I had memories from the past fourteen years of this life, good and bad. This allowed me to figure out what I should act like, and what my friends and family were to me. I decided to check my appearance with a quick touching of my head and body. I was an elf with silver hair, blue eyes, and I was pretty tall for my age. I made sure I was a male by looking down my pants, and sure enough, I was indeed an male elf child. I was only wearing burlap clothing, but in any case it was better than nothing. From this, I deduced that my parents were getting by, for a kingdom-ruled world. I checked my hair by pulling on it, since I had a bit of hair, but it didn't pass the bottom of my neck, of course..

However, no matter my circumstances, I also would guess that they had emergency funds, since from what my memories told me they always had the right amount of coins for unexpected situations such as my sister getting an illness.

Speaking of which, my sister seems to be the one that got quite ill often. Apparently, I comforted her with my presence whenever she was sick, which comforted me with the fact that my sister cares about me in this life. In my past life, my sister always tossed me aside like I was some useless toy, only to be used for her own benefit. This, eventually, got her killed in an accident with a bear. I wasn't around, and apparently the woods calmed her mind, but this bear had spotted her, and figured out that she was weak.

An hours later, the sun came up and I took a guess it was near this world's equivalent to 6 or 7 AM. I watched the sun come up, and the clear sky turn a beautiful dark blue. I looked at the sky in amazement, when I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"Eek!" I said, frightened because of the sudden touch. I didn't hear a single footstep! I turned around, and it was my mother. She let out a very calming aura these days, and I felt relaxed around her. After a minute, I said, "Don't scare me like that!"

"It's amazing, isn't it?" she said, looking at the sky with a beautiful smile.

I looked at her, and then looked back at the sunrise, and said, "Yes it is!"

I was a bit too tired for this early morning, and in which I decided to go back to sleep. I did have a dream though.

My mother used to be abusive. She used to hit us, now and again, because that's how her father treated her, and she took out her anger on us. One day, my 9-year-old self walked up to her, while she was mad, and asked while crying heavily, "Mommy, what did we do to deserve this?"

Even she had a heart, and she loved her children no matter what it may seem, so even though the response was unexpected, she hugged me tightly and cried.

"I'm sorry, you did nothing to warrant such unpleasant actions. I have no right to say this, but I'm truly sorry. I hope you can forgive me one day. If that day is not soon, then so be it. I've only wanted to have a family, but my father didn't help with my behaviour and I'm sorry. I will never do anything like this again, I promise." She said, and at that exact moment, I knew she never wanted this either.

Her father was a son born from a commoner mother, but a noble father. After his mother left the noble, her father lost all hope with commoners, and thus, decided to take his anger on her, a half-commoner, half-noble. He beat my mother to escape his pain, and my mother took it all too well. My mother took this pain and fuelled her rage to the fullest, and when my father came along, she took it out on him and forced him to have a child with her if he didn't want anymore pain.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

With this, she made sure he didn't run away. My father was a cunning man, but even he could not escape her magical prowess. She put a rune on her, which activates if he leaves even 10km of my mother. I honestly felt bad, but on the day that she came to her senses, my father's rune was taken off of him and he was free. After this, he decided to stay and a few days later, my mother was pregnant with my sister.

At the moment, she is only 1 year old, and what a cute little sister she is. She had almost all of my facial features, such as the silver hair, and ocean-blue eyes. Her skin was smoother than mine, but she was still a child, as was I. I always wanted to protect her, and so I asked my mother to teach me a bit of magic. I wanted to protect her because she was my little sister, and until she's capable on her own, I would protect her with all of my strength.

The training she gave me was pretty easy for me, as I had a very had magical capability, but also I had a lot of strength. She mainly helped me on the easiest elements, which for me were fire and ice. I myself don't know much of how it works, since they're complete opposites, but I guess I'll never know. The training was done on the backyard we had, and the only thing we did was study the books we had at home, duel eachother, and she would point out what I'm lacking and what I've got too much of.

From what God told me about the use of all the statistics, here's what I got from them:

Health is increased by endurance and strength. The more you can endure. It relies on Regeneration Rate for regeneration times.

Intelligence is maxed at 100, meaning that 100 being super genius, and 0 being a brainless fool. The more intelligence I have, the more I can think my way out of possibly bad situations.

Magical Energy is determined by my affinity for it, and obviously, training. The more of an affinity I have for magic, the easier it is to get magical energy. Relies on Regeneration Rate for regenerating your Magical Energy.

Regeneration Rate is for my Health and Magical Energy. They are based off of Magical Energy or Health, and by overall endurance. It can increase because of my condition, and my overall level. It is usually the number it regenerates your health by per second.

Endurance increases by hurting myself. The more I hurt, the more it goes up.

Strength increases by doing excercises and training. Attacking, for example, an animal 100 levels higher than me will reward me.

Speed increases by running or training my reflexes. My speed goes off of km/h per point, and right now I can go 1300km/h+ for 3 minutes at most.

Now, my Health Status will change to ill if I've been down with an illness, disease, virus, etc. Poisoned will be set as the health status when I've been purposely poisoned for who knows why. Alive will be when I'm nice and healthy, and obviously deceased will be when I'm dead.

My mother told me about the capital when we were fighting, and she told me I had a chance there. She also told me that it was a very good place to train to become stronger, faster, and smarter. The cost of such a trip is very high, however, so I decided to consider it with my mother first.

After a while, something like 3 hours of non-stop talking, my mother and I decided that at 18 years of age, I would set out to the capital. While I studied hard on my magic and strength to do this, my mother told me that she would be saving as much coins as possible for my trip. She also said why it costed so much. She told me that the capital is a very expensive place, and food alone required a decently deep pocket.

As for my statistics, I gained quite a few boosts.

Name Allen Valro Age 14 (Immortal) Race Elf Health 2593 of 3500 Regen Rate (Health and Energy per second) 25 Health Regeneration and 100 Magical Regeneration Intelligence 45 Magical Energy 1020 of 3000 Endurance 3 Strength 20 Speed 1300

My speed went up over 1000 points in the last year alone?! At this rate, I could go past Mach 1! This is amazing! My endurance also went up, so I can go at this speed even longer now! These battles sure are worth the heavy toll my health has to pay. I thought to myself, while quite literally feeling the pain they take on me. After the duel today, my mother said that I was lacking in endurance, so she said that we'll work on it next day.

The duel ended around night time, and then my mother proceeded to go take care of my little sister. I decided that it would be best to use the 1 day rest time she gave me to go over what I learned, and actually take a bit of a needed break. Thus, I ended the day with a tired curl into the blankets, let my mind clear out, and then slept.
