The old man gave me some candies and turned around to go. I was too hungry to say my thanks, so I quickly ate the candies. The moment I could think straight again, I saw that my plain system had changed. It now had some other text on it.

The text said: "You have completed your first quest. And you are finally able to get your power!!! If you would like to accept your power, please press 'Accept', if you want to decline our offer, please go die by yourself, thanks :)"

I was stunned as I read this text. I had never heard of a system as unfriendly as this. I didn't know why, but I thought about the offer a little bit and came to the conclusion that this system must be a fake. There could never be a system as unfriendly as this, so I figured this had to be a joke by some rich guy. But because I already envied the "Awakened", I just pressed the 'Accept' button to see how far this joke would go.

The moment I pressed the button was the moment I lost consciousness. I slowly couldn't hear anything anymore. I thought I had died, but as I opened my eyes again, I could see something. It was a big white room, with nothing in it, not even a window. It was just white; there was like nothing else to be seen.

As I looked around a little bit, I could feel how hungry I had become again. The moment I thought about food, I could feel a red apple in my hand. I tried to eat this apple as I was still hungry and had nothing else to do. The apple tasted wonderful. It tasted exactly as I would imagine a perfect apple would taste.

I got some more things to eat, after some more thoughts. They all tasted as good as possible. I felt as if I was a god, a god who lives an eternity and is almighty. I could feel the power within me. But after just some minutes, came the biggest problem of every god to me - I was bored.

I had nothing to do. I was alone in this space for quite some time. I even tried to create a life myself, but nothing happened. I wasn't as almighty as I thought at the start. I could only create things I had seen at least once and could imagine perfectly and weren't alive. At least, that is what I found out after trying some things.

As I had nothing to do anymore, I could see this plain and boring system again. This time it said it would have a new quest for me: "You have found your own space, now it is time to create your system and find your first follower."

As I looked at the system again, I could only see some options to optimize my system. I optimized it in the color green, as it is my favorite color, and I added two snakes to it, as they are my favorite animals. Right now, the system looked quite boring, so I added some runes at every corner of the screen. Now it had at least the feeling of being somewhat powerful. In this way, I successfully completed the system. Now there was just one question left - what the heck can I do with the system?

This time, the system answered with: "You can now give this system to a person, who will get some powers afterwards. You are the person who decides what powers they get, but don't create a too strong ability, because you could get unwanted attention."

I didn't know what to do, but in the next moment, I was back at the store where I was before. I could still smell the old beggar, which means that time had stopped while I wasn't here. I knew what I had to do now.

I went outside the store and searched for the old beggar. I didn't search for more than 10 minutes before I could see him, begging across the street. I went to him and asked if he wanted to become an "Awakened". I knew it was an awkward situation, but I had to try. After all, it was my only chance to try my powers right now, and there weren't any other people around anyways.

The old man couldn't hold his laughter, but still said yes. In the next moment, time stopped, at least for everyone else but me. In front of me, I could see my system again. This time it said something rather interesting...
