S1 the churches side

In a large room decorated with gold and silver, giving it a ‘holy’ feel to it. There was a man at about the age of 40. He was dressed in white robes, similarly decorated to the room with silver and gold. The only thing in the room other than the man was a stone platform with a large magic circle giving off a mysterious yellow light. As the light starts to fade, the man starts talking.

“Welcome hero! Now I know you must be confused, one moment you were dying, the next you're here, but worry not! I will explain all, now come with… me?”

As the light faded the man looked at the center of the circle to find nothing. Being understandably confused, the man, looks over the circle multiple times, to confirm there was no problem with it, and it was perfect, no faults in the formation, so he dashes out of the room into a hallway, standing outside was the captain of the church's paladins

“Your holiness, what is wrong? Why are you so stressed? and where is the hero?”

The man, who is almost certainly the pope, looks up at the paladin, seemingly not even noticing he was here until just now.

“Hmm? Oh yes, guard this door. Until I get back no one is to enter this door got it?”

“Yes your holiness, but still this doesn't answer...”

The paladin trailed off as he watched the pope frantically run down the hallway until he came to a large door, he quickly pulls a key form the sleeve of his robe, unlocking the door, entering inside, before locking it again.

In the room was a small cushion for kneeling on, and a statue made of marble. The statue was of a man, with a kind smile and soft eyes almost as if to say he was looking at the world and was happy with it. Something to note was that the only part of the statue that was not made of marble was the eyes, that were made of a purple alloy called gillium. Gillium is an alloy made refining silver and gold together, though it is extremely difficult to make, and expensive too, it is one of the most energy conductive materials in the world.

The pope kneeling on the cushion clasps his hands together and prays.

“My lord, please answer my prayers”

There was a flash in the eyes of the statue, before…

“Ah! George! I was just about to summon you.”

“My lord, please do not, humble this one, by casually calling this one by his name...”

“Oh come on, we’ve known each other for centuries, why shouldn't I call my friend his name.”

“This one thanks my lord”

“Hey, I'm calling you your name, it would be rude for you to not call mine”

“...yes… yam”

“HAHAHA! There we go! Now I assume the reason your here is the hero summoning?”

“Yes, the circle activated, but no one appeared”

“Makes sense. The one selected was in a den of darkness, and death.”

“What would a hero be doing there?”

“I dunno, vanquishing it, being sacrificed, I'm not sure. But as to why the summoning failed, it was the death, and darkness mana. Most of the divine mana used to summon the hero dispersed before it reached him, but similarly, the divine mana I sent to revive him, dispersed similarly.”

“What does this mean for the hero?”

“It means he either wasn’t revived, or he was partially revived and when the divine mana faded, he died again”

“Then, what should we do”

“Summon another hero of course!”

“Yes, yam though it will take a week or two, to recharge the summoning circle for the summoning”

“That’s fine, it’s not like the creature of darkness will come to power today”
