Prologue the ironic hero

my childhood was pretty normal, born to a common peasant family, I spent my days, chasing girls, and helping my family on the farm, but I wanted more. I had always been told stories by my mom about heroic men in shining armor, slaying the evil dragon, saving the princess, and banishing evil! Those stories inspired me and formed the bases for my morals today, Fight for good and justice, and helping those in need. So after scraping enough copper by doing odd jobs, I bought a sword and a ride to the nearby city, and after paying the registration fee, I officially became an adventurer!

However my life as a new F-Ranked adventurer was less glamorous then I imagined, spending most of my first month as an adventure doing things like picking herbs and finding lost cats, a far cry from the grand dream of banishing evil I thought it would be; however the explanation from I received from the guild made sense. F-rank is mainly meant to help newbies get used to how the guild’s system works, and for those who don’t have any other choice, to make enough money to get by, With E-ranked adventures being those considered as real adventures. So after a month, I graduated from rank F to rank E. The first thing that is recommended for E ranked adventures are to enter the sponsored training camp. I decided to trust my seniors and take the course.

The camp was the toughest thing I had ever experienced, I thought working in the fields all day was exhausting, however with the constant switching between teaching me how to use my weapon of choice, longsword, and drilling basic info about what must be almost everything in existence, I would go to bed exhausted every night. But I stuck it out and eventually graduated. To take the course though I had moved a few cities over to one of the smaller cities in the country, and decided to make it my base of operations as a newbie adventurer. But still being influenced by my dreams of being a hero, I immediately accepted the request for the cores from some undead in the first level of a nearby dungeon. It was also a repeating quest, so it quickly became my main source of income. The pay was decent, and I was saving up for some better equipment when one day an accident happened...

I was slaughtering the most common enemy on the first floor, skeleton rats when a skeleton wolf popped out of nowhere! These enemies were rare on the second floor, only appearing often on the third floor in packs, which meant, to have met them on the first floor, when rarely if ever do monsters leave there floor’s in dungeons, was terrible luck. The wolf swiftly killed me in an almost painless way, almost.

Which brings me to where I am now. Wondering how I'm still alive, but that question was quickly answered by a quick look downwards, unlike the tanned skin I had expected to see, what I found was a dull-white skeleton. I would have screamed if I could, but only a clacking noise was made as my jaw bounced around, I was very confused. why was I a skeleton!? but I quickly remember something from the course.

if you find something strange with yourself check your status, and find a doctor.

I quickly pull up my status, I should probably explain what the status is, why? the same reason I told myself my own life story, to try and calm myself down. The status is a gift from the gods, to see ourselves more clearly and help us advance deeper on our paths.

Titles

Chosen hero of light

Lesser undead

The first thing that caught my attention was the two titles, titles weren't the rarest things in the world but, they usually take time to get. of course there are some exceptions like racial titles such as lesser undead which was most likely given to me for being a lesser undead, but putting those thoughts aside I pull up their descriptions

Chosen hero of light

I start uncontrollably laughing or doing as much as a skeleton can do. I became a hero just as I've always wanted! but at the same time, I became an unholy creature of darkness!

After calming down I realize I have a pending announcement
