We finished our sodas in a not-so-uncomfortable silence while leaning on the bike racks. Afterward, we deduced that we didn't feel like hanging out more and decided to head up to the dorms.

On the way there I sent a text to Yuka. I told her we ended up getting lost and were tired now so we were just going to the dorms.
I mean it's only half a lie. I'm pretty tired after walking around in these heels all day.
When we were on the elevator to our floor Emma asked "How did you like them?"
"The group?"
"Yes."
I thought for a second and answered "They're ok. I guess I can see us getting along."
The doors creaked open and we began walking down our hallway. It was pretty empty but it was usually like this after school.
We were almost at my door when I asked "What about you?"
"I don't know. It's better than having no one to spend lunch with. I know that at least." The preppy looking girl said with little emotion.
We were pretty similar in that regard. I don't really need friends but they did make things more interesting.
"I get that." I said as we made it to my door.
Emma looked at my door and murmured "See you."
"See you."
She then walked past me probably towards her room. I dug in my pochette and took out my key. I opened my door, entered my dorm room, closed my door, and took off my booties and my backpack.
I sat down on my bed and started watching Youtube. Yuka texted me back 5 minutes into a makeup guru's tutorial video. The convo went something like this.
Y: I get it since it must've been tiring fighting the whole way there
J: Fighting? Wydm
Y: Idk since you guys fought when u first met or remet
J: Oh
J: It went ok
J: We didn't talk much but we still got the sodas
Y: That's good
Y: Shanice's closet is filled with snacks so we can still hangout and eat anytime
J: Alr cool
Hmmm, I wouldn't call what me and Emma did fighting. We merely participated in some light bickering.
I decided against asking if we were going to all be eating dinner together since I was going to go eat later than usual.
I went back to my video on eyeliner and watched recommended videos until about an hour after the dinner bell rang as I started to feel hungry then.
I walked down to the cafeteria, ate dinner like normal, went back to my room, played BTD, exercised, and...basically the evening routine. You probably know it at this point.
I woke up a little later than usual the next day but still got ready at the same pace. My Algebra teacher was scared of me too so I honestly doubted she'd mark me tardy.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
The outfit for today consisted of my navy blue Tommy Hilfiger cardigan, my black Moschino Tee, my black distressed skinny jeans, and my all black Converse. The accessories I wore were my silver chain necklace, silver earrings, my black watch, and my jean pochette.
My first four periods were boring as usual. At lunch time Yuka asked me to meet the group by the tree. After grabbing food from the cafeteria I walked to the tree by the gym.
I saw the girls while I was on the path.
Yuka was wearing her red Adidas jacket, with matching pants and some black shell tops. Shanice wore the same bomber jacket from the other day but this time with a light blue pair of straight jeans.
I couldn't see Emma or Aliya but I knew they were there since I saw Emma's backpack behind Yuka and heard Aliya's voice.
I walked over to them. Emma was the first to notice me. She didn't wave but she looked at me with little emotion as I stepped through the grass. She was wearing a yellow sweater, white capris, and some yellow low top Converse.
A little bold for fall. I like it.
Yuka looked where Emma was looking and saw me coming up. The sporty girl gestured for me to come up with a smile. I walked up to them and stood between Emma and Yuka in our makeshift circle.
"Hey Jocelyn. We were just about to start eating. Glad you could make it." Yuka said a boring looking sandwich in her hands.
"Yeah. Are we going to sit down? I don't usually stand and eat." I asked noticing everyone had food in their hands but wasn't sitting
"We usually just talk and eat and sit if we feel like it." Shanice answered tossing her wrapped sandwich to her right hand.
"Alright. Well, I'll be sitting." I said putting my backpack down and sitting on the grass in front of it.
"I will too." Emma added setting her tray and backpack down. She then sat on her backpack and grabbed her tray that had a salad and a wrapped sandwich on it.
Five minutes passed and everyone was sitting.
"Ugh, I hate all the regulations this school has." Aliya complained, her hands in her black Obey hoodie as she finished her sandwich first.
"We can never bring our snacks out to lunch 'cause it's such a pain to get to the dorms and back during the 40 minutes." The shorter girl continued.
"Yeah, it does suck. I'm glad they don't check the rooms as often as they check our backpacks." Shanice said, itching her nose.
"You're so lucky, having all the snacks in your room." Yuka said while leaning back.
"I mean she does buy most of them..." Aliya murmured while putting her hand out. Emma and Yuka nodded which I imagined was them saying 'true'.
"Only half of them. Also what other regulations do you hate Aliya? I honestly think the school is pretty lenient for a boarding school." Shanice asked.
"Hmmm, the food one is the main one. I know the no boys one is a problem for a lot of the girls here but it honestly doesn't bother me cause I'm not really interested in them anyways." Aliya explained while pulling on her silver necklace.
"I just don't have time for them since I have to take six classes this year." Shanice said while in between chews.
Aliya looked at the other side of the circle and asked "What about you guys? You guys having trouble with the no boys rule?"
I was a little nervous to share the response that popped into my head but luckily Yuka answered first.
"I'm a lesbian. I think I already told you. So not boy troubles but girl troubles you know." Yuka answered nonchalantly.
YES! I mean I already kind of assumed but this was the confirmation I needed! Lesbians. Actual lesbians in Michigan. This is so crazy.
It took all the strength in my body to suppress the urge to yell. It wasn't like I was super excited to date her specifically but if she was also a lesbian (a confident one at that judging from the way she answered) she must have a good amount of lesbian friends. And at least a third of them must be single and a third of that group must be close to my type. So there. The reasoning behind my excitement.
Now see I already know what you're going to ask "Jocelyn, why do you need lesbian friends so bad? You're a lesbian yourself, you should have lesbian friends too."
You see I've only really been out for two years and that was only to my Instagram page. I only came out to two people besides that: Marianne and someone not so important. Sure a lot of people from my old school school did follow my page but probably 95% of the girls at that school liked guys and the small 5% were probably too scared to make a move.
You know my whole coming out story isn't really important right now, back to the dialogue. This is crazy!
Everyone looked at me since I was sitting next to Yuka.
"I'm actually a lesbian too. I've been one for a while now." I explained trying to match Yuka's nonchalant answer.
"I knew it! That Wonder Women convo kind of gave it away." Yuka exclaimed pointing at me.
"Yeah. I thought the same thing but I didn't want to assume. 'Cause you know this is still Michigan."
"True. Not a lot of gay people here." Yuka said while frowning at her last bite of sandwich.
I looked to my right at the short girl quietly munching on her sandwich.
"What about you? Does the no boy rule affect you?" I asked kind of quietly.
"It doesn't. I'm similar to Aliya where I don't care much for males." Emma murmured.
I must've given her a look because Emma continued on but now was nervous and blushing. "I...I'm just really picky about that sort of thing too."
"Interesting..." I said and turned my head back to the group.
"Oh yeah. Wouldn't your...magazine club! Also interfere with relationships." Aliya said, obviously attempting (and kind of failing) to connect with the quieter girl.
"Um if you mean my book club then no that wouldn't affect that kind of thing." The preppy girl replied.
"...You just seem to go there a lot." Aliya said awkwardly.
"Yes, I do." Emma said while looking at her salad.
Anxious to clear the awkward air I mentioned "I think my fourth period is near the library so I might stop there after class tomorrow."
"Do what you want." The sophomore said curtly and took a bite of her salad.
+5 tsundere points.
