“Professor! One moment please!,” I raised my voice to catch his attention, this is a very important conversation we need to have.
“Yes?,” answered Professor Dreich with a puzzled look on his face.
“Could you please take a look at this? It looks similar to how we write but it's also different at the same time…” I ask quietly mumbling off the last of it. I just realized I was making a bit of a scene. I swear my familiar just mouthed ‘airhead’.
...I'll ignore that for now. Ugh, so embarrassing…
“....where did you get this?” Asked professor Dreich.
“Is there a problem…?” I asked starting to feel cautious for some reason. I really didn't like his tone of voice…
“*sigh*, no... there isn't. The reason why I am asking is because this version of English should have died out hundreds of years ago.” He replied.
“This is English?” I asked, maybe to make sure? I guess.

“Yes… albeit an older form of it”
“No wonder it looked so similar… but why were you so shocked by this? Many people know supposedly dead languages.”
“It's not a dead language Ms. Cusclech, it's an inefficient one that was abandoned.” He readily answered.
“What do you mean by inefficient? How can a language be inefficient other than a lack of words… which I doubt that was it?”
“By ineffective, don't mean that it had a lack of words, I meant the words had a lack of power…”
“Which means that it couldn't release any form of magic based on voice or written command in that language,” I continued for him.
“So you do pay attention in my classes” he said smiling.
“Of course I do! The lessons teach things that will be helpful know later on in life!” I said back to him. It's true!

Yada yada yada, what’s taking so long…?
She was so excited and now she's talking really quietly. If I were to focus on it maybe I could hear it, I mean I can faintly hear what they are saying right now.
“... and that's why…. odd… he knows…” I hear whity (prof. Alabaster von Dreich) heheh, say. Tch, still can just barely hear the conversation. Due to school rules, ‘animals’ aren't allowed in the teachers office which includes familiars. She said that this isn't a slave-master relationship but that doesn't mean there isnt segregation? *sigh*, wonderful.
These meatheads in front of the door keep giving me dirty looks. I'm not even doing anything to you, fuck off.
...why am I even waiting here? This is ridiculous. Let's see if there's a way out of here… their conversation seemed interesting but I can't hear all the details, so let's just ditch em.
Alright, time to go. Seems like the meatheads don't care? Awesome.
Aren't they security though? Shouldn't they pay more attention? Ah, who cares.
