Crawling of a Lizard

“So I’ve found myself in a world without Wednesdays,” Macutan remarked, “why does this world have to have such a ridiculous trait?”

He trodded down an old alleyway in the bustling city of Taireah. People treaded past him, either returning home from work, or leaving to start their night-shift. While Macutan walked with a bold posture, he didn’t exactly have a destination.

The main thing he seemed to be doing was observing the crowd. He watched a child cry from her dropped ice cream, and her mother doing her best to calm the kid down.

“I guess there are some sights you can’t escape,” Macutan muttered to himself, proceeding to walk away, “but that’s not any of my business, is it?”

Stolen story; please report.

After a long trot around the area, Macutan took note of all the suspicious activity he found. He found it safe to assume that there was no magic in this world.

“I’ll need to tread very carefully in this world,” Macutan decided, “just the slightest bit of magic could get me spotted by the elder lizard…”

There was just one more thing he had to figure out now…

”Welcome sir, are you here to check in?” asked the receptionist to the grand hotel Macutan found, “One night will cost fifty dollars.”

”No thanks,” Macutan responded, “I’d just like to know a little something.”

“And what would that be?” the receptionist asked.

”Why can’t I find a way outside of this city?”
