I shout out loud as I connect my eyes with whatever’s in front of me out of fear, seeing something as such is terrifying so I acted reasonably, but it did not move or even keep eye contact with me as I backed myself into a wall. Is it asleep or dead? I definitely hope so.
I kept my eyes dead locked on the still creature, though I jumped as I heard the sound of the sand above getting loosened and falling down in the cave. Luckily because the hole I fell down opened up more, way more light could get in, and I could see most of the small cave I was in. In front of me was the spider, half curled up and dead. Im safe for now, though still terrified.
I slowly step off the wall, timidly stepping around and looking at my slightly dim surroundings. There’s webs and bones all over the place, though nothing I can really get stuck in which is nice. It's just one hole with a big opening, no extra caves. The spider’s body still looks fresh, as well as some of its leftover food. If I'm going to survive, I gotta eat something, so the meaty leftovers will have to do.
I close my eyes as I knaw on one of the bones I picked up, gagging. It tastes terrible and it's disgusting, though it has a lot of leftover meat on it. After a few bites I've had enough grossness and move on and begin digging through the bones to see if I can salvage anything of value. Who knows what you can find.
As I'm digging through the bones and scrap I think to myself, this just feels far too real to be a dream. But thinking about it, if it's not a dream, I really did die. I stop digging as I let that sink in. I died and am never going to see my family again and I'm never going to know what’s going on with them or how well they’re doing. A tear begins to well up in one of my eyes, I hate this.
I no longer have the drive to do anything. Why live if all I've worked for and all that I know is gone. There’s nothing here for me except an empty desert and this giant spider. This world clearly feels different from earth, there were no giant spiders like this there, maybe there’s no intelligent life here or a language I can’t speak. Maybe if I die again I’ll be put back. But what if this was a second life? I don’t want to die.

I thought more and more and sat in self pity, and day quickly closed to night. It seems I lost track of time, then again I never kept track. I can’t sleep either, I feel restless. As I get bored, I begin to get angry, kicking down a large pile of bones shouting as loud as i can. Looking at the bones I kicked, I spotted a human looking skull.
My mood both wordsened and got better, one step back, two steps forward. It was obviously once a person or something similar which gave me hope, but would I even survive long enough to see something like that? I began throwing the bones everywhere, as a means of relieving my anger and to get to the bottom of the pile, and at the bottom of the pile I found “gold”.
It seemed to be the husk of a man that had died a long time ago and was covered in webs and bones, but also was the only intact skeleton, even better it had clothes. The clothes the skeleton had on were worn and old but they'd have to do it. They were clothes meant for the desert which was great. The salvageable clothes are the cloak, leather pants, and the belt. On the belt was a few pouches, an empty flask, and a slightly rusted scimitar. The rest of the gear and clothes are just rags at this point, so I salvage some of the rags and make a ragged scarf to protect from the sand and potential wind and the rest to use as bandages.
Now I just need to figure out how to get out of this hole. Only thing that I can see that can help me get out is that giant spider if I stand on it, but it's gross and I hate spiders. Looking at the bones, it would take too much work, so my only option is using the spider and jumping up.
I don't wanna do itt! I will not do it! I cannot go near that nasty ass spider. But it's still my step stool out of this hole. I will just wait until the morning when it's lighter out. What if there's dangerous things up there that I don't know about, If I can't see them, I'm dead. I move myself over to a corner of the hole where there's no bones and sit down against the wall. I'm only here for this night, then i'm gone and looking for some water so i can drink and maybe find food.
I close my eyes in the most comfortable position I can get myself into on the soft sandy interior, using the cloak I got as a blanket since the night is colder than expected. Surprisingly I drift off to sleep fairly quickly. It's odd, maybe I was exhausted? I had been using an unfamiliar body the whole time and struggled to walk comfortably with these legs. But regardless of how I fell asleep, I still slept through the night.
