I wake up as I feel the warmth of the sun entering The hole, the spider is fully visible and fully dead. I hate that spider with a burning passion. I slowly get up and stretch my aching limbs having not slept the best. What was I doing last night? Oh yeah, getting out.
I'm going to do this quick and easy, it's just stepping on something that's already dead. Why in the world am I so scared of spiders? Ever since I was young I've hated them, and rightfully so! They're gross and shoot sticky webs out their ass and look like they always want to kill me. I remember I had a friend who had a tarantula, he said he thought they were cute. He is objectively wrong.
That's it, I'm going to close my eyes and do this. Pretend it is just a halloween decoration. I take several deep breaths before I begin to awkwardly run to the spider, but I freeze in my tracks and go back to the cave wall. I can't do this. What if it's just playing dead? No… if it were alive, I'd be dead just like these bones. What should I do? I gotta be brave, this dream has gone on too long to be a damn dream. I'm going to live as long as possible and to do that, I can't be stuck in this shitty hole.
Taking in one deep breath, I ran back to the spider. This time I take a large step onto the spider and leap off it, I feel the spider’s carapace crack under my feet as I do. barely clinging onto the rim of the hole, I lift myself up and back to the sandy surface of the desert. My stomach growls.
Time to look for food I guess, I have no other option. An even better find would be water. If I find the water, I can fill the canteen and maybe find people nearby. If there’s a dead human in there, there’s gotta be some towns nearby. Or something similar.
I begin to head north again, constantly checking my surroundings. I feel the wind pick up a bit so I pull up my rag scarf over my face. Some goggles would be nice but beggars can’t be choosers. I'm still surprised at how unbelievably lucky I am to have found this gear in the spider hole and the spider already dead. Now that I think about it, that spider could have been malnourished. But to find this stuff, even though it's in bad shape, I'm super lucky. If I was unlucky, the Ctenizidae would be alive, probably the reason I fell in was because of the trapdoor’s decay.

Enough about the spider, it still gives me the creeps. I take another look at the scimitar I found. It's rusted and dull, but perfectly resembles the Arabian blade I always saw bandits use in movies. Now that I think about it, I sort of look like one of those bandits. I must look cool as hell, though with my blue body, I must really stand out.
The wind has picked up by a fair amount, though it doesn't seem too heavy, a bunch of sand is getting blown up. The sky seems to now be grey, so maybe it could rain in this desert? It must be rare since all I see are either dunes or cactuses and other dried up shrubs…. Now that I think about it, aren't cacti good for eating sometimes?
I gotta see if these cactus got any fruit on them, if they do I am set for a while. The first cactus I see appears to be a cactus plant, though it's odd since those don't usually grow in the desert. Who cares! its food! I examined the cactus plant since it's odd to see it here, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to take the fruit.
Only one fruit. Its exterior is more smooth and softer than a dragon fruit but feels harder like a pear, the same colors as one though. I pluck the fruit off after some struggling, reminds me of when I used to pick lemons in my backyard as a kid. Because the skin seems edible, I just bite into the fruit, it's super sour and watery, the exact texture as a watermelon. The skin is very sweet and to go with the sour taste of the interior, I love sour things. I used to peel and eat lemons as a kid, I still did it until I was around sixty years old.
I eat the whole entire fruit except the core, which has a million seeds in a ball. I'm saved for now! But I'm still in the middle of nowhere, luckily the wind isn't getting worse, but I have to walk against it to go north. It's fine though! I can get by the food and water issue now. My only problem now is sand in my eyes and finding civilization. If I can do that everything will be slightly easier.
