If reality was a bird, would you shoot it? (WIP)
No… the right question is WHAT is she?

No… the right question is WHAT is she?

“I think the session should begin now, the chit chat took too long.” Victoria said, while still keeping her eerie smile. no one dared question this decision or even object, I don’t even need to explain why, her smile is enough to make you submit to her every word.

The three nodded while Zara just got a notebook and a pen, they didn’t know where to start, each with their own thoughts, Ibrahim thought that it was a little awkward, lada thought that she was too discomforted to begin herself and míngxīng was both scared and concerned for Zara, she seemed like she’s barely surviving.

Zara notes down something and Victoria just looked at it and nodded, giving a look of approval before going back to the trio.

“I guess it starts with our disorders.. we don’t really know how to deal with them well, I’ve tried pills, ignoring them, therapy but just nothing works.” Ibrahim said, he had a look of mixed feelings, sadness, uncomfortableness, distress, while Lada just gave him a raised eyebrow. “It’s not like you lasted enough on any of them.” She said, with a hint of judgement in her tone, míngxīng looked kind of stuck between the two like he just wanted to leave, badly.

“I did, and even if I didn’t you don’t have a right to judge because you didn’t last on your medication either.” Ibrahim said, a little frustrated by her comments, while she just gave a look of “excuse me?” Like she was offended. “I did, if you weren’t so dumb to have gotten the wrong kind, maybe I would’ve lasted even longer.” She said, and now it became a back and forth.. great… really.. “I just wanna leave.” Míngxīng said, only Victoria heard him. “You can go near the balcony.” Victoria said, he just nodded and went, Zara looked at him then back at her long notes and showed them to cyan, while lada and Ibrahim just kept having this back and forth.

“You didn’t specify which type to begin with!” Ibrahim snapped, he couldn’t take Lada’s so called “points” anymore, “I did, you would’ve noticed if you were actually paying attention to what I say!” She scoffed, mocking him while crossing her arms over her chest, both of them had were clearly frustrated, their brows frowning and their lips in a straight line, clutching their jaws like like they’re about to kill each other and completely ignored the fact the outside world existed. “Go to míngxīng, I will deal with these two.” Victoria said to Zara, the two didn’t hear her but Zara did, she didn’t even object or comment, she just thought “why does she make it seem like a request when I can’t say no?..” but then just nodded and went to the balcony near míngxīng.

Míngxīng seemed a little caught of guard but recognised she didn’t mean harm and was just doing what Victoria said so he moved over a little to make space for her to stay, he was sitting with his legs to his chest and his back to the glass edges, she just stood next to him. “She seems.. kind enough.” He thought, while she just said “I have no idea what dr.Victoria actually wants but I just do what she says. Rejection isn’t a option after all..” She sighed and sat down next to him. “Uh.. do you ever get tired of dealing with her? She seems a little… abusive..” he said, trying to frame it in the best way, she just had a distressed expression and tried to brush it off with a “no! She’s just.. being herself…but you know I am younger and all so I can’t reject her orders.. typical stuff…” she seemed to just pick up random words, which made sense since she was obviously lying.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Her thoughts said the truth, what she couldn’t say, out of fear perhaps..“She is but.. what choice do I have?, it could cost me my future if I objected or did one mistake..i will have to handle a little physically wounds so my dreams won’t be in vain..” then she looked at her notes and hesitated a little before writing “yes..” and a tear fell down on the paper, smudging the word “yes” a little. she just tore it apart and showed it to míngxīng before throwing it off the balcony because she’s scared of what Victoria might do if she found it.

They just looked at each other, both not knowing what to say before he nodded and said “I will do what I can.” Trying to reassure her, she didn’t seem to believe it but she just gave a slight smile.

Inside, the two were still arguing about everything at this point, from the medicine to the disorder, everything. Ibrahim threw remarks about how Lada is a heartless monster when in an episode, while she just said how he thinks he knows what’s best for everyone while he can’t even manage his own disorder, basically they were hurting each others feeling a lot but they didn’t actually get hurt because they were both too angry to notice, While Victoria just smiled through it.

After Ibrahim got exhausted and said “enough! We’re in a therapy session, remember?” And looked back at Victoria, and lada just nodded and looked outside the window then at Victoria.

Victoria just… clapped? “What a show.. truly one worth remembering.” She still had the same expression, but she was clapping like she just saw the best performance in her life, her tone was one of amusement.

Lada and Ibrahim just looked stunned, they both had the same thought “we knew she was crazy but not.. this..”

After she finished, she said “you two definitely have a strong opinion about medicine so I’d recommend regular therapy sessions and finding a common ground in something similar to a hobby or an interest, would that work for you?” They just nodded, guessing it’s better than pills at least.

“Great, now you’re excused to leave, I have a session in around 4 minutes.” She said, still with her eerie smile, they just nodded and called míngxīng over to leave, as they left they all looked discomforted for different reasons, lada thought “why.. did we agree?”, Ibrahim thought “she’s definitely not normal.” While míngxīng just thought “I hope Zara will be okay.”

After around a few minutes, Zara was tidying up stuff when Victoria just appeared behind her, her smile the same but her eyes told a different story, they were ones of anger. “What did I say about keeping quiet?” She said, while Zara just froze and her eyes winded in fear and she started shaking, she couldn’t even get the words to apologise. Victoria’s silk threads wrapped around Zara’s neck while also leaving scars in the process, Zara didn’t even try to fight it, she knew she couldn’t do anything. Victoria then released her and just said “be quieter next time.” While Zara fell to the ground and was gasping for air.

She quietly said “s-sorry..” but Victoria didn’t give a réponse, just smiled. “I can’t do this anymore.. but I need to finish college.. what can I even do at this point? It hurts..” Zara said to herself, she’s lost between wanting to pass college and having to handle Victoria’s emotional and now physical abuse.

Damn victoria’s a total freak.. so glad she can’t hear me.
