Early in the morning, the three of them go straight to the Adventurer's Guild.
While walking, Aozora is looking through her list of games and thinking about the next game she should unlock. Their costs are currently 5,000 and she have 51,000 EXP left.
They arrived at the Adventurer's Guild which made her stop checking it for now.
As they entered, they saw some people looking around the board, and a few just sitting on the side.
They go to the crowded board and look at the posters on those board. There are a variety of request posted in it, and there are ranks indicated on those request.
"What should we pick?"
"I think I am fine with everything, Milady."
While the two of them are talking, Nahmat is just glancing on the people. She seems to be interested at the crowd more than the requests on the board.
The two of them just continue browsing through the request board.
"What do you think of that, Milady?"
Looking at where she is pointing, she looks at the request in it. She squinted her eyes and read it carefully.
The request she pointed seems to be harvesting some sort of herb. It's an F Rank Quest, and anyone can do it.
Aozora felt a bit bummed from that, but looking at the other request, she can see that even defeating a goblin seems to be an E Rank one. She thinks they can handle it, but she didn't want to be conspicuous.
'Trying to finish higher ranking quests will put me in the spotlight. I don't want that!'
What she wanted is to have a safe place and play her idle games whenever she wants. She didn't want to be bothered by a lot of people.
It is a cliche thing in Isekai stories where the MC is a newbie adventurer but they finish a high ranking quest in just their first or even their second day. After that, they will suddenly be promoted to the higher rank, and most of the time, even the Guild Master will come and always talk to the MC somehow.
She didn't want that. It's too troublesome for her!
The pay for the F Rank Quest is small. Just five coppers every stalk they get. Still, it is one of the quest that they can do as an F Rank Adventurer.
She didn't like the other F Rank Quest which are just community service. The pay is not even that high. Only ten copper coins for cleaning a house? That's a total rip off!
A meat skewer is already two copper coins. So cleaning a whole house is only as much as five meat skewers. She didn't like that.
"Anyway. Let's take that quest."
When she said that, she heard someone snorting, causing her to turn her attention to them.
"Puh, beginners..." The guy who snorted says.
Aozora narrowed her eyes but she didn't do anything. After Austina took the quest out of the board, they walk to the reception desk and present it to the receptionist. Nahmat is just walking behind them while still glancing around her.
"We want to take this quest!"
The receptionist looks at it and casually took it. She nodded before handing it back.
"That is a continuous quest. You can do it even without giving this request to this desk."
"Oh. Sorry..." Austina scratches her head sheepishly.
"Wait. How can we distinguish the plant?" Aozora asked.
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
The lady behind the desk kneeled behind it and rummages it before going back with a book. She opened it on a certain page and presented it to them. They look at it and see a realistic sketch of a peculiar grass.
"This is the Green Herb. It is a bit hard to distinguish from a blade of grass, but it's leaves are a bit bulkier than those grass. They also look more like a shrub than a grass if you look at it's details carefully."
Aozora stares at it and reads the other guides how to find it. The Green Herb seems to only grow deep in the forest, in an opening where sunlight hits it.
"Okay. Did you remember it?" She turned to the Princess and see her nodding. "How about you?" She took the book and leaned it up so their small companion can see it.
Nahmat just stared at it for a small moment before she nodded.
"Okay. Thank you for that." She gave the book back.
The receptionist just nodded at them. They go back to the board and put the request back on it. After that they leave the guild's premises.
----------------------------------------
On the nearby forest of this city, their group are moving around, looking for an open patch within the forest.
Aozora knows she really can't help with that, but she thinks her two summons can.
It seems like that expectation is not really helping them.
Austina is just going by her instinct. As for Nahmat, she is busy admiring the trees on her surroundings.
This forest are said to be safe for newbie adventurers so Aozora came along with them. If it isn't safe, she would have let the two of them do this job.
'I also need to take a quest occasionally or my license will be revoke!'
She sighs before looking forward. The only thing she can see are just shrubs, trees, and some bugs flying around. There is the occasional animals like the birds chirping or a wild rabbit that just hops away from them.
They walk for a few minutes more, going aimlessly on the sea of trees.
"Wait."
They are surprised at Nahmat's call and snapped their attention to her.
"I sense some presence."
"Where?"
She pointed on a certain direction. They decided to go there and see what's up.
As they arrived there, they saw an opening within this forest. On the open patch of grass, they see a group of young people kneeling on the ground and grabbing some grasses on the ground.
'Not grasses, it's the Green Herbs!' She immediately realizes.
One of the boys seems to have noticed her as he stops and turned his attention on their way.
"Who are you?"
By his prompt, the others with him also stop and looks at them.
"... Ah, we're here to get some Green Herbs."
"We got to this place first! Go away!"
Aozora frowned. "Why should I do that?" Her eyes squinted, she took a step forward.
"Don't you know about the rule? First come, first serve! We don't mess with you and you don't mess with us!"
"I didn't heard anything like that." Austina interjected.
"What, are you all newbies?" She felt a bit offended at the derision. "That's an unspoken rule. If you try breaking it, many adventurers will mess with you!"
"Wait. Does that mean, we can't use a place when other adventurers are already there?"
"Exactly! That's why go away!"
She is dissatisfied by it but she decided to let this go. "Alright." She sighs before turning back.
The two silently follows her back as the boys stares at them. They seem to be making sure that they will back off or not.
After leaving that area, she can't help but released a frustrated sigh that she has been holding.
"Ugh... I didn't thought this would be so troublesome!" She looks at the list of games that she have. 'Is there another way I can acquire money?'
Austina seems to be fine by it. "Don't worry Milady, I am sure we can find a place later!"
Aozora closes the floating panel and glances at her before releasing another sigh. "Fine. Let's just get this over with."
----------------------------------------
The sun is going to set as the three of them walks back to the city. The idle game addict high school girl and the sword princess are looking down with their shoulders slumped while the Nahm is just walking calmly while occasionally glancing on her surroundings.
They didn't find any place to get a Green Herb. Even when they did, there are already some adventurers harvesting Green Herbs there. They even encountered a verbal conflict of three adventurer groups, their conflict is all about the group going to harvest herbs on that patch of grass.
"Why didn't you threaten them? I think they're not that strong?"
Aozora felt a headache coming to her. "Nahmat. I know how harsh it is in your world, but it is not like that here. I don't want someone to have a grudge with me." She saw her tilting her head, causing her to stop on their step and explain it to her further. "Look. I know that this world is also unlike mine, but people here are not as violent as you think it is. If we kept getting violent, I think we'll have a lot of enemies on the future and that would be too troublesome."
"Then we can hide. And if they pursue us, destroy them."
"No!" She pinches her forehead in a headache. "I don't want to live like that!" She took a moment to breathe. "You'll become a criminal if you kill someone without reason. If that happens, you won't be able to get inside the city."
"Why?" Her cold stare is pretty unnerving, but it also carries a hint of innocent curiosity.
"Because they will be scared of you!"
Nahmat's stare seems to go beyond her, just looking there blankly. Then she slowly nodded.
She didn't know she understands but she decided to leave it to that for now.
"Anyway, let's go back to the inn and try again tomorrow."
"What if we didn't get anything tomorrow?"
"Don't worry. I have another plan!"
She opened the list of games within her vision and stares at a particular title there.
'If all else fails, I'll try this one!'
The day ended without anything accomplishing. Aozora's mind is focused on the new game that she unlocked.
