Part 1
And it’s been a month since I was summoned into this world.
Time sure flies…
We dragons are long-lived creatures, but our memory is pretty amazing considering. I thought perhaps our memory would be shallow, or only remembering relevant things, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
While I don’t feel myself becoming excessively bored with the flow of time, I still retain a good memory of all my time doing nothing.
I quite enjoyed the solitude I received every once and a while, while also having fun playing with some of the younger dragons.
I’m already referring to myself as a dragon—though I don’t really see myself as part of the group, and some of the other dragons seem to think the same way.
Well, if I still held a human brain, I would find a lot of what I’m doing boring. Or I just wouldn’t remember most of it, because of how inconsequential it is.
Incidentally, it seems like my first eggs were laid by a mate.
I mentioned before, but we dragons are polyamorous. As such, we don’t stop with just one partner, and that seems to apply for both sides.
Of the 3 dragons I decided to mate with, only one of them ended up laying my eggs…
It’s only 2 eggs though.
The other two females laid someone else’s eggs apparently.
Despite already adapting to this Dragon “culture”, I don’t really have any comprehension of beauty in regards to dragons.
I thus decided to choose my mate based on the scale of their magic power, so I ended up with three of the females with the highest amount. (Only the second highest one actually ended up with my eggs though)
This method seems to be the best choice from a biological point of view.
Eh?
Could it be I already unknowingly chose a mate like a Dragon would?
Well, from my observation, the other dragons seem to be picking based on physical power, and factoring magic in second, but it’s the same idea of wanting to get stronger offspring.
Well anyways, I don’t know what to think.
Other than those first few times, I don’t really have the urge to have sex. Actually, I only did it because I was excited, but now I’m rather embarrassed being told I have an egg.
After all, I never actually had sex in my previous life.
Eh? What the hell am I doing?
I-i’m not really going to play parent now, am I?
I—I’m not ready! I’m just a child! 13 is much too young—
Ah, I know, an… an abor—
No no no no… stop thinking like that, dammit.
Hmmm, according to what my mate said, it should take a few months before the eggs actually hatch. I don’t know an exact time though. Either way, it seems we’re taking turns caring for them, which consists of giving them warmth, and occasionally feeding them magic.
I know these are mine by scent of course. And not just smell, but the magic power inside the egg matches mine.
Speaking of smell…
Is that the smell of humans?
And quite a lot of scents too…
Just when I was getting settled in too. I wonder what kind of development this will lead to though~
Part 2
“Hah, coming all this way for something like this,” I listened to the murmuring around me. Most of it was complaints of course.
I wish to turn around and correct their behavior—it goes against etiquette before a battle—but I do not have the authority to do so.
Even so, I agree with the sentiment—this force is a bit much for a simple subjugation. It took weeks to travel here, and the mountains made it no less difficult. We haven’t been informed on the details, however there are rumors flying around that it has to do with the Dragon that was seen in the capital, just days ago.
When I heard this rumor, I became rather anxious. I was among the many participants of the so-called “Beast Summoning”, so I was aware that this dragon was rather powerful. It was capable of destroying massive stone doors, and still made an escape as if nothing happened.
When I think that, perhaps a force of three thousand (3,000) is just enough.
But I dare not tell my surroundings. Only a few of the mages here are aware of the botched “HeroBeast Summoning”, which was kept as a national secret. If I were to divulge this information to anyone before the information is made officially public, or without permission from a suitable official, my heart would be stopped via the contract binding.
It almost stops anyways, when I overhear the scout’s report—a number of dragons were seen in the vicinity.
When that report is made clear, only then are the circumstances explained.
“Atop that plateau is a gathering of dragons, numbering in the hundreds,” the Knight Commander shouted as he brought his horse to the front, and pointed towards one of the nearby mountains. “The beasts there are responsible for harassing and assaulting the nearby villages, so we have decided to destroy the camp.”
He goes on to explain some of the rough details, including “We intend to capture any of the younger dragons, and collect the dragon eggs.”
There was no need to explain reasons. Merely the mission at hand. Any soldier here would assume that this is merely subjugation, and monster domestication.
It made sense. The Kingdom probably did intend to cultivate the captured eggs to raise a Dragon Riding force, similar to what the Republic has done.
But that was probably just extra. They likely also wanted to capture the dragon they had summoned a month prior. That one would certainly be much more powerful compared to other dragons its own age, and thus be more useful.
As proof of this intent, I had heard no such rumor of dragons attacking humans in this area. And neither had any of the soldiers.
Even so, Three Thousand soldiers against hundreds of dragons should not be impossible.
Thus we began our attack.
Part 3
A number of dragons returned to explain the situation as they understand it.
It’s an army of humans coming to attack us, of course.
I thought perhaps it would be an army passing by as they headed for a nearby border, but no such luck. They were headed almost directly for this mountain. They had stopped some distance away for a few minutes, and then continued their march here.
I suggested sending dragons with a strong breath to thin their numbers before they reach the mountain. That way we can finish them on territory we’re familiar with, as they try to scale the mountain
Like that, a number of large dragons move out, and blast large balls of flame down at the clusters of humans.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
I thought that would be enough, but it seems they retaliated in time, using a combination of earth magic to disrupt the flames, and wind magic to blow them away before they can reach.
Still, they couldn’t stop all the fireballs, and at least a third of them made it past their defenses.
I watched from the plateau with my keen eyesight of course. Even among dragons, my eyesight is amazing. Perhaps a result of the summoning?
After the first wave of fireballs, a second wave came in, but this time only one or two managed to hit the ground.
We considered sending out a third wave, but as we were preparing that, a storm cloud was formed overhead.
That’s not a natural formation is it?
In fact, it’s nearly pitch black, and centered above this plateau.
That doesn’t look good. The clouds are really condensing…
…
I decide to casually pick up my eggs, and shove them into my inventory.
And then—
—like most of the more sensible dragons
—I get the fuck out of there.
…
…
And like that, a massive bolt of lightning illuminates the surroundings in an instant. I probably should have been paying attention to the magic some of the people below were using.
That shit is scary.
When I look back, I see some of dragons were killed and injured.
The rest are enraged, and forget my earlier suggestion entirely, before flying down to fight directly.
…
Hmm? Me?
I just watched from afar of course.
What, you think I’m gonna get into a fight with an army that huge?
Please, that army is over-kill.
…
Oh?
Looks like a lot of them are using my attacks. Specifically the spinning fireball.
Heh~ That’s pretty scary. And it’s moving too fast for most of the mages to defend against. Perhaps this might actually be an even fight? If the dragons had more numbers anyways.
Well, even though I have an above average mana capacity among dragons, they’re still quite powerful. There are a number of explosions going on around the battlefield, as a result of the sped up fireballs.
Unfortunately, they can’t replicate the same power-output I can, seeing how they don’t understand natural phenomena.
Still, a dragon’s power is scary.
No wonder they’re sealed.
…
Well, it doesn’t seem the dragons are done just yet either.
Tenacious creatures, they are.
Still, the humans weren’t prepared for this kind of attack, and the bombardment is thinning their numbers.
Or so I thought—it looks like a number of humans are quickly adapting to the change of circumstance.
I decided to stick around and observe who would win this scuffle
…
Hmmm, will the eggs come out alright if they develop in 0 Gs?
I should tweak the inventory later.
Eh, I’ll use this free time to do it.
Part 4
Where did that come from!?
This new attack?! I’ve never heard of dragons using anymore than the usual fire breath and fireball!
So fast—we don’t even have the time to try and intercept most of them.
I regain my bearings after surviving an explosion from nearby, and scan the skies. I need to be able to predict the moment the fire comes—if it’s even possible…
A Blue Dragon?
It’s not fighting; merely looking down at us, as if mocking us.
Is that perhaps the summoned dragon? He looks just like the Dragon from before.
Could he have taught the other dragons this ability?
Is this the power of the Hero Summoning?!
In the past, Heros have come to teach us various methods of combat and war, among other things, but perhaps this fireball attack is something dragons use in the world that one was summoned from?
We had hoped to elicit the dragons into fighting us directly, realizing just how dangerous it would be to start a fight on their terrain, however the Commander likely did not expect this sort of attack, that we can’t even defend against.
For dragons to hold this sort of power—was that dragon related to the Dragon God of his world?
Could Sailos have unwittingly brought on the end of days?
No, I shall ponder this after I survive. The dragons have commenced their assault once more, and my allies can’t handle them all alone.
I focus magic into my left hand, and steady my blade with my right—as a Magic Knight of Sailos, I shall not fall to mere hatchlings such as these!
As a dragon approaches, it hurls a ball of fire at my squad, and I swing my left hand, commanding the wind to shatter it! Being an elite, using magic without key-phrase is only natural. The dragon is not discourages however, as it inhales, before spewing out a fall of flame from its mouth.
I’m not prepared for this in time, but luckily, the magician in my squad blocks the flames using the water from a jar he carries around.
The thin sheet of water he creates around us managed to block the oncoming flames, as the dragon flew over head.
Arrows began to fly, as I noticed that our forces had recovered from the shock, and prepared the offensive.
Dragonhide is very thick, and difficult to pierce with mere arrows. However these arrows are enchanted by wind magic, and are enough to at least cut through their wings. The idea is simple; if we can ground the beasts, it’ll be an easier fight.
Still, this many archers isn’t enough. My wind magic however is enough to ground the incoming dragon, by destroying the lift he received from his wings.
Confused for only a moment, the dragon immediately fired several balls of flame at me, which I managed to deflect with wind, as I closed the distance between us.
All Magic Knights are trained first in sword, second in magic. Thus my offensive magic never feels like it’s the optimal choice.
Even so, my blade manages to cut into the neck of the dragon as he tried to snap at me.
If it’s only this many dragons, we should still be able to win, if that Blue Dragon continues to float in the sky as he is doing now.

Author Notes
And that was a thing.
Though I said before that I have some plot in mind, the truth is I'm making it up as I go along, and only have the lore, and a rough idea of where I'm headed. A very very rough idea.
While I haven't directly used ideas presented (that I wasn't going to use already), some comments have at least influenced me one way or another. Yesterday I said I had Chapter 3 written, but then decided to rewrite the second half, and added some more.
