The day had finally come, I finished running 26 miles for that darned mission. It had taken me another week after completing the tutoring mission to complete the goal of 26 miles. Luckily, since I was getting stronger each day, I was able to run just a little bit more every time. All in all, it had taken me a little over two and a half weeks to complete everything. The beautiful 'ding' was a melody to my ears as I pulled up the system that had multiple messages on display for me.
[Congratulations on completing Mission 1!]
[Congratulations on completing Mission 3!]
[New title has been unlocked!]
[Rewards have been distributed, please wait 72 hours for next set of missions.]
My heart was beating out of my chest as I read each notification. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that I had unlocked a new title and quickly pulled up my profile.

Looking at the stats I had grinded over the week and the new title had me acting all giddy. The small random stat boost after completing a mission means that I would be getting a free 0.3 overall increase in stats every time I completed a mission set. I then navigated the system so that I could use the lucky ticket I had earned.
[Echoes of Revelo Gacha]
[Welcome to the EoR gacha! As was stated previously, all items that can be drawn are useful to the user. Some of the items in the pool are weapons, armor, utility, credits, potions, elixirs, manuals, etc. Do you have any questions before we begin the drawing?]
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"No questions, please begin the drawing!" I crossed my fingers as a little animation began to play on the screen. The animation depicted a golden egg slowly cracking as a countdown starting from 5 went down in the background. When it finally hit 0, a bright light engulfed the screen and a 'ding' sounded off as a message popped up.
[Congratulations on your first drawing! A bonus item has been given as a beginner reward :D]
[You have received: Training for Dummies Manual and 1000 credits. Both have been added to your inventory.]
The gacha screen then switched to my regular profile page before I switched it to my inventory so that I could inspect the new manual. I had never heard of this manual in the game so I was pretty curious about what it would give me once used.
{Training for Dummies Manual}
[Description: When used, the following B rank skill will be given: 'I'm Trying to Catch Up to Geniuses!' (will be abbreviated to TCUG). The skill's effects are as follows: Whenever the user is learning, training, or experiencing anything that they do not have mastery in, an F rank skill of said topic will be generated. Any action that would cause a skill to receive experience will now activate 'I'm Trying to Catch Up to Geniuses!'. Once activated, the skill will double the progress towards levelling the skill. As the rank of TCUG increases, so does the number of skills that can be generated as well as its proficiency bonus. Currently TCUG can generate 3 skills.]
[Would you like to use the manual now?]
My jaw dropped all the way to the ground when I saw it's description. This was an OP ability, no doubt about it. Ray sadly had no skills due to his illness having him bedridden and him being a character that shouldn't even exist. Of course I could train until I received a skill, but it would take 100 times longer than already having a skill, even one starting in F rank. This would allow me to learn swordsmanship a lot faster, and would actually help with catching up to the main cast of characters.
Without hesitation I activated the skill book. I didn't forget about the bonus 1000 credits I received and also immediately purchased the 'Starter Growth Potion' from the system's store. With that purchased my total funds decreased to 950 and the store closed, not even allowing me to purchase the other potion.
I didn't feel any different after activating the skill book so I pulled up my profile and a new section had been created.

[B Rank] 'I'm Trying to Catch Up to Geniuses!
Seeing that one skill there had made my day, I decided to wait until the end of the day before I took the growth potion. I didn't know what effects it may have on me, and I still had the rest of Friday to get through. I also read over the skill some more as there were various restrictions on it. One of the main restrictions was that it was unable to copy abilities that I innately wasn't blessed with, an example of this would be divinity, something priests need to perform miracles and healing.
The rest of the day went by quickly, much to my relief. Ana's training seems to be going well as she's always excited to share with me whatever she can. Mostly she's told me about the various skills she's been learning from the head maid, but knowing the plot of other novels I assume she's learning other skills that aren't related to general servant work. After my classes, Ana and I hung out together for the rest of the day. Since I had no other friends, I had no one to talk with which had me feeling lonely at times. Spending time with her allowed me to release my pent up emotions of the day and relax in another person's company.
When I decided to retire for the night, I left for my room and started preparing myself to take the growth potion. If it were to follow every other novel, it would be extremely painful and I may even lose consciousness. To prepare for that, I had brought over towels, water, and some fruit so that I could clean up and eat something if necessary.
Once the preparations were complete, I pulled out the growth potion from my inventory and popped the cork. The potion itself had a lovely iridescent purplish color to it. The scent that came from the potion was one that reminded me of a fine red wine with a hint of a metallic hue. I cleared my mind as I lifted the bottle up to my mouth. In one swift motion, I poured the contents into my mouth and swallowed.
I tensed my body as I waited the inevitable pain that would come. I had my eyes clenched shut for a couple seconds, but nothing had happened. Instead I heard the familiar 'ding' sound that announced a system notification. Perplexed, I opened up the system to read the notification.
[Confirmation of Starter Growth Potion. To allow for synchronization, user will be forced into a state of hibernation for 10 hours. Countdown will now begin.]
As I finished reading the notification, a countdown starting at 10 appeared. I sighed with relief when I realized that meant I didn't to feel any sort of pain. I quickly got myself into bed just as the countdown reached 0. My mind suddenly felt foggy as I slowly lost feeling in my limbs.
If I were to compare it to something, I would compare it to going under during surgery...
