Now that I had permission to use the magical device, I could start putting my competition into motion. Today I set out two goals for myself, the first being hiring an information guild to handle spreading the news to different territories, and the second would be checking out my bank account. For our own territory, an announcement using the magic devices would suffice as well as using the mayors and other persons subservient to us to spread the word. I also wanted to see if I could get both rings I had found last week repaired or at least looked at, but it wasn't really something I put much emphasis on.
I wanted to finish all the political and social items on my agenda as soon as possible so that I could then put all my focus on physical and combat training. I wanted to begin sparring with a knight in training, but currently the gap in skill and physic was just too large. If I didn't narrow the gap, such a spar would be a one sided beatdown which would reflect badly on everyone.
Since today's outing was supposed to be quick, it was only going to be Ana accompanying me for the day. It was suggested to take a knight or two but I had declined the suggestion as I wanted to be seen as independent and mature. I still had some spare money from the previous weekend so I was not worried about funds, especially since I would be heading to the bank first to assess my financial standing.
We were heading to one of the branches of the well-known bank known simply as Golden Bach Bank. It was started by a small merchant family a long time ago and grew its power and standing over its history. It was now an economic powerhouse that no one messed with, and has a potential party member the player could recruit if the conditions were met during the Academia Lux storyline.
The building itself was quite extravagant and detailed. It was a pure white with emerald green details throughout the building. Their emblem was proudly displayed at the center: two deer crossing antlers. From what I knew, the emblem's design was inspired by the family's ancestors who used to hunt and sell the furs and excess meat to traders. It was a common trope in both games and media, but now that I was living in this world I needed to take advantage of anything.
The inside of the building was as pristine as the outside, and there was plenty of activity occurring today. Luckily, one of the employees quickly noticed us and came up to introduce themselves.
"Welcome to the Granbell branch, my name is Ruth. Is there anything I could help you with?"
A quick and professional greeting with a neat uniform, I was impressed.

"Yes, your help would be greatly appreciated. I came here to check the funds within an account under my name: Ray Glouse."
"Of course, it would be my pleasure... could you repeat your name for me again? I think I may have misheard."
I gave a small chuckle at her reaction, it made sense since I hadn't been outside for a number of years and only recently made an appearance last week.
"Ray Glouse, son of Duke Glouse."
"I-I see, thank you for coming in today. I will bring over the branch manager to assist you. If you would please follow me to the VIP room."
She gave a quick bow before leading us to the second floor. I could feel the gazes on us as we were guided upstairs, but I confidently ignored them.
"Looks like you'll be attracting some attention again today Ray." Ana said in a whisper while giving me a small smirk.
I just shook my head as we entered the VIP. Ruth gave another bow before leaving us alone in the room. It was a well decorated room with two sofas facing each other and a small table in between that had some cookies and other pastries on it. The walls were painted in the same green and gold as the outside of the building and had a couple of paintings. The most eye catching detail, however, of the room was the grandfather clock at the back center in between two sets of windows. It was an ornate clock that had details depicting nature all around it. The craftsmanship was so mesmerizing that I didn't even notice the door to the room being opened.
"Ah, I am surprised someone of your age is interested in such an antique."
I immediately turned around feeling a slight heat rise in my cheeks. Ana saw this gave a small curtsy to the man.
"You must be the branch manager, thank you for lending us some of your valuable time today." I could see that Ana was buying me some time to compose myself and I thanked her in my heart for her action.
"Ah yes, Ruth told me about an important guest. I am Roger Bach, the manager of the Granbell branch for the Golden Bach Bank. I heard you wished to inquire about an account under your name, is that correct?"
"That is correct, I would like to formally introduce myself, I'm Ray Glouse." I extended my hand for a handshake and Roger immediately shook it while smiling. "I was hoping to get access to the account that my parents had made for me."
"That is not an issue, we have already verified your identity and thus I have come prepared with the document related to your account. You will find all the details you need on it. I will be outside of the room if you need anything else."
After handing me the document, he silently left the room. It was the moment of truth now to see how much money was within my account. Ana looked at me expectantly as I began to read over the piece of paper...
I was in complete shock after I placed the document on the table. The amount of money that was at my disposal was unthinkable to someone who had worked a normal job in his previous life... I had access to a whopping 60,000 gold coins. This was roughly 6 million dollars back on earth, an amount I could never have imagined. I had no clue how much money we as a duchy made, but now that my health was secured my allowance would probably go up as the future heir.
After double checking everything, I put the document away and asked for Roger to come back in. We reviewed a couple of details such as the password for the account, as well as other locations that could accommodate me. I thanked him and left with a pop in my step thanks to the newfound wealth I was in control of.
Once Ray and Ana had left the premises of the Bach Bank, Roger let out a sigh and spoke out to seemingly no one.
"What do you think Amelia? He surprised me quite a bit compared to the rumors we had heard."
"We should keep on eye on him, I'll be able to see more at the upcoming ball anyway."
A confident feminine voice filled the VIP room in response as Roger just nodded his head and headed out.
