Levi

The school has a very luxurious and elegant architectural style, seemingly inspired by Baroque and Rococco works. Many uniform windows on the front side of the building, adorned with gold and white above and below. The roof is flat, with a balustrade along the entire perimeter. There is a rooftop garden on the left side of the roof, opposite the roof entrance. On the right side of the entrance is where Angelina and Zen usually sit to eat lunch together. They are sitting on the roof floor with their backs against the entrance wall, chatting and eating next to each other. Angelina offers a hard candy to Zen, thinking it might be one he never tried before. Its wrapper has mint green and white stripes on it, with a bow tying the opening at the top. It is mint and hazelnut flavoured. Upon unwrapping, the hard candy is shiny, white, and round. The outer mint layer gradually melts until it reaches the hazelnut cream center, which can be chewed.

"Have you tried this before? Do you like it?" Angelina asked.

"I've never tried this before. It is very good." Zen said.

Angelina used to eat these candies back in her world at home. She was surprised to find them in this world as well and wanted to share them with Zen.

"Are you doing anything after school?" Zen asked.

"I have to do some shopping after school." Angelina said.

"For what?" Zen asked.

"Some school supplies." Angelina said.

"I think I need some things too, I'll come with you." Zen said.

"Okay..."

At the store, Angelina has added everything she needs to her shopping basket. Suddenly, she gets distracted by a purple hair bow that caught her eye. She inspects it with her hands and looks at the price. She checks her wallet and slightly frowns, realizing she doesn't have enough money to buy it. She thinks oh well and moves on to finish up shopping. She checks out first then waits for Zen. He finishes and they start walking home together. Zen stops suddenly to reach for something in his bag. He pulls out the purple hair bow Angelina was looking at.

"Here, this for you." Zen said as he held up the bow.

Angelina's eyes open wider.

"This is in return for the candy you gave me today." Zen said.

"Oh... thank you!"

Angelina takes the bow and places it on Zen's hair.

"Cute~" Angelina said while smiling.

Zen frowns like he's upset. He takes the bow off and places it on Angelina's hair.

"I got it for YOU." Zen said.

Zen turns his head away looking bashful. They resume walking home.

The bow looked really good on him.

It's a new day at school, a large group of students are gathering and talking about a haunted house in the area that is said to be haunted by demons.

“Apparently a high school student went in there and got possessed by a demon.”

“That’s crazy!”

“We should go and check it out.”

“Let’s invite other people to come too.”

A girl named Bella approaches.

“Rosalina! Angelina! Do you guys want to come?” Bella said.

“I have to go to church after school, so I can’t.” Rosalina said.

“Church? What for? God doesn’t exist you know.” Zaph said.

Angelina looked at him slightly shocked.

Hmm... as a demon he should know very well that God does indeed exist. Why is he lying? Angelina thought.

“Of course God exists.” Angelina laughed while looking at Zaph.

Zaph stood with his head upright and his eyes looking down to Angelina. She turned away and he continued to stare as if he's looking at an enemy.

“What if a demon possesses you? Hehe.” A girl said to her friend next to her.

“Demon possession is no joke, you know!” Angelina said.

“I’ve been to a bunch of haunted houses and never seen a ghost or demon, let alone getting possessed by one. They don’t exist.” Bella said.

“Demons have no need to attack people who are already on a path of darkness. If anything, seeing something or getting possessed would make you more susceptible to believing in the supernatural, then eventually God.” Angelina said.

She looks annoyed and says, “You’re saying I’m already clouded by darkness, that’s why I’ve never encountered anything?”

Zaph smirks and starts laughing.

“She’s right. Don’t you already side with demons?” Zaph said.

“What, do you believe in demons now?” Bella asked.

This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.

“I don’t know~” Zaph said.

Angelina turns and looks at Rosalina.

“You’re going to a church? Can I come?” Angelina asked.

“Sure.” Rosalina said.

Zaph watches as they walk out of the classroom smiling to each other.

“Zaph, you’re coming, right?” Bella asked.

“…”

“Wow! So this is the church you go to.” Angelina said.

Angelina looks to her right and sees an angel guarding the outside of the church.

“You go ahead first.” Angelina said.

Rosalina heads into the church. Angelina walks over to the angel.

“Are you… an angel from the Principalities?”

“Yes. Are you Angelina?” He said.

"Yes..." She said.

"I think we'll be crossing paths frequently. I have been informed of your assignment. I am named Kiel by the way." He said.

He has the appearance of a young man with light blue eyes and blonde hair. He is wearing a military style outfit. It is a white double breasted coat with gold buttons. There is a gold lapel chain pinned from the right lapel draped to the left side of the chest. On the shoulders are gold epaulettes. Attached beneath the right epaulet is a side cape that drapes over the right arm. The cape is white with a golden fringe trim. His military uniform pants are white, with a white belt on the waist. His combat boots are navy blue.

“Is it your job to protect this church?” Angelina asked.

“Yes! I have been posted here recently. So far it is very relaxed and calm.” He said cheerfully with a smile.

It is my first time meeting an angel of the Principalities choir.

There are 9 choirs of angels, divided into 3 spheres. The highest sphere of angels are the Seraphim, the Cherubim, and the Thrones. The second sphere of angels are the Dominions, the Virtues, and the Powers. The third sphere of angels are the Principalities, the Archangels, and the Angels.

The Principalities are the Angels that guide and protect nations, or groups of peoples, and institutions such as the Church.

“I’m just visiting the church today. I’m going in now. Bye~” Angelina said.

"See you!" Kiel said.

She walks into the church.

Zaph is standing outside the church at a distance from the entrance, hiding behind a corner wall from Kiel. Zaph sends a text to his younger cousin Levi to come right now. He appeared out of thin air.

“Why did you call me here?” Levi asked.

“I never tried to go into a church before, so I wanted some backup.”

They walk over to the doors of the church. Suddenly, almost at light speed, Kiel appeared in front of them, blocking their way.

“You all cannot enter.” Kiel said to them.

“We just came to visit and look around. Can’t you let us in just this once~” Zaph said.

“No can do.” Kiel said.

“So mean~” Zaph said.

Zaph and Levi walk away.

“What now?” Levi asked.

“Actually, I heard something interesting here…” Zaph smiled.

Inside the church, Angelina is looking around and admiring the interior architecture of the church and the colourful stained-glass windows.

“Rosalina.”

A man wearing a cassock approached her.

“We have obtained the holy sword.”

The holy sword? That’s from the game! It’s the sword that was blessed by God to protect against demons and evil. It chooses its owner and is bound to them, so it can only be wielded by those that are pure and good. In the game, it chooses Rosalina, who is considered a saintess by others. She is a healer, and, in game terms, she can buff others to give them a big power up. She was the chosen user of the holy sword, but she never used it because she ended up falling in love with the demons in the game. In most routes, she would end up marrying one of them and sometimes having children.

“Rosalina, I have to go now. See you.” Angelina said.

“Oh sure. See you then.” Rosalina said.

Angelina went back home. She changed into pajamas and she’s laying in bed. Her phone makes a noise and she looks over at it. She received a text from Zen.

“Do you want to hang out at my house tomorrow?”

Tomorrow… Oh it’s Saturday tomorrow.

“Sure. What time?”

Hanging out with a friend after school… How exciting.

Angelina lays in bed with a smile on her face.

The next day Zen comes to pick her up to take her to his place.

“It’s a bit hidden so I thought it’ll be easier if I take you.” Zen said.

They arrive at his place. It is a large Baroque style mansion guarded by a big gate and trees and bushes that keep it partially hidden. They go inside and Angelina sits in the living room. Zen goes to get some water and snacks for them. Zaph and Levi walk into the living room.

“Who’s that?” Levi asked.

“She’s Zen’s friend.” Zaph said.

“Friend?” Levi said.

“I know it’s hard to believe. She goes to our school.” Zaph said.

Levi approaches Angelina.

“Hello I’m Levi, Zen's cousin.”

“Hi, I'm Angelina.”

“That’s a nice bracelet.” Levi looks down to her bracelet.

"Thank--"

Levi takes her bracelet at super speed. Angelina gets startled.

“Sorry, he’s a kleptomaniac.” Zaph said.

“I’m taking this.” Levi said.

“You can’t!” Angelina said.

He starts running and Angelina chases after him around the sofas. Zen walks back into the room and takes the bracelet from Levi while he was distracted by Angelina.

Zen walks up to Angelina and grabs her arm.

“Let’s go to my room. I want to show you something.”

He gives her back her bracelet.

“Okay.”

They walk into his room.

Wow it looks like the CG in the game.

His room is very spacious with a large bed against the left wall. In front of it is an elegantly carved wooden table with two tufted armchairs on one side, and a Baroque style sofa on the other.

“I got the new Fantasy Shift game. Do you want to try it?” Zen asked.

“You got it? Yes!” Angelina said with excitement.

Angelina starts playing while Zen watches. She is focused on the game completely. Zen looks at her and takes some of her hair into his hand. It is lightly wrapped around his hand and fingers as he examines it.

“Your hair is really long. How long have you been growing it?”

“Maybe 11 years or so. Although I trim it every now and then.”

“It’s really soft and pretty.” He says as he caresses her hair.

“Thanks! Your hair is pretty too.” Angelina said.

He stops and looks at her then turns his head away bashfully.

“Do you want to hang out tomorrow too?” He asked.

“Sure.” Angelina said.

Ah, I'm not slacking off, right? Spending time with him helps me with my investigation.
