We were exhausted by all these events and our fantastic little community was in solidarity and very quickly received the visit of the President of the United States and we strictly followed the points of the protocol to the letter and when he asked us what we wanted, we begged his pity and to the American people too. We begged them not to put us in a zoo and not to torture us anymore.
We were all scared, especially Argentrix and the Argonians and the worst was the Spiders because of their 8 eyes and their human bust but the base of a monstrous spider 2 to 3 meters in diameter and their dangerous chelicer at the base.
They were forced to dress and put shoes on each leg to be less scary and to put their venom hooks in a sheath. They accepted unconditionally to stay with their families.
I was working on organizing a dictionary with Argentrix and Auronne and writing the grammar rules to encode all this into computers and translators.
We were fed effortlessly just in return for sponsoring those who offered us food for our big stomachs.
We could walk in the meadow but not fly away. Not yet. We were prisoners and in an immigration camp.
Investigations were endless, linguists and investigators wanted to know about our world, language, history and culture and finally, we almost all had a job as writers to tell our world.
For the Indians, they were furious that we were being kidnapped, but for us, it was a luxury vacation:
We had heating, shelter, and a comfortable room with facilities, running water and TV.
We dragons were in a tent with a kind of bouncy castle that was very comfortable and we put our claws and claws in a sheath so as not to hurt anyone or puncture our mattress.
I could sleep with my darling dragon and she wouldn't let go. Auronne refused her room and preferred to sleep with us.
What I loved most was the game console! and cartoons.
but I had to study English and with my spells, it was very fast.
1 month passed and we had to take exams in American history, language and those who passed the tests had their green card as American residents and then a naturalization procedure because they were stateless.
I passed psychological tests to compare my reasoning with a human being, we were close to hunters and aborigines in terms of lifestyle. We had everything to learn again and then I was asked how I saw the future for us and above all they tried to see if we could be a threat to people once we were released into the wild and how our life in freedom could influence our surroundings.
We were asked if we would prefer a cave or a house full of times.
But I answered, that we are not sensitive to the cold or the bad weather and that a yurt or a shed was perfect! We were nomads but we liked to manage a territory.
We replied of course that we would not pursue the first human who would set foot in our "territory", that was a cliché.
They were also afraid of our future children. I told them, that we would be good parents and send them to school and that the reproduction rate was so slow that it took almost a generation to have one or two young.
And they ended with one last question: do you believe in God and I answered yes and recited my prayers.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
I also told them that I was afraid of heights because of the peace that reigned abnormally, but that was normal.
We were so afraid when we fell asleep at night because of the monsters, bandits and Orcs that it was abnormal that it was so peaceful.
Then, one day, we were declared free citizens and each family was assigned a social worker to help us integrate into society. The dwarves were the first to integrate with dwarf communities (dwarfism) and they were immediately motivated by mechanics and enrolled most of them in technical or engineering schools. They were amazed but we stayed in Alaska and under the Indian protectorate.
The Elves were fascinated by the arts, fashion and modeling. Others through chemistry and medicine.
Hissa took classes to get her childcare diploma and wanted to work in an orphanage or hospital but she had very easy and continued her studies as a pediatric nurse.
She was a star for children and she imitated dinosaurs and loved to be a clown.
Brutus followed the same path as Hissa.
Other Argonians integrated with humans but all of them integrated the religion and Indian culture of Alaska.
But they were surprised to see that Argentrix was a Goddess to them. Argentrix was integrated as a local deity but they refused to have a temple, a kind of golden prison.
Me and my girlfriend had to take a course to get a hunting licence so as not to slaughter game and a course on aviation regulations to avoid an accident with air traffic.
A pigeon vs. a Boeing, bye bye bye pigeon
A dragon vs. a Boeing, bye bye the plane.
We were engaged as extras in fantasy films, animal documentaries and lifestyle documentaries and imitated our wild counterparts for TV, keeping our dignity.
I forced Argentrix to wear a loincloth too and some tricks not to "be naked" and I reminded her of the episode where she laughed as she cut my loincloth.
We were able to buy a piece of land in the forest and we had a comfortable wooden barn, like a yurt with planks but we had a kitchen, a bedroom and a living/dining room with a large bed, a fire pit and a home cinema.
But we had an obligation: THE WHOLE PLANET WANTED TO SEE US!
So once a month, we had to go to a "fantastic reserve" where people could meet fantastic people like us or spiders, Elves, Kajiit, Argonians.
But it was managed by the Indian community that had welcomed us and we owed them everything, we were infinitely indebted to them.
we didn't go to school but we went to a public hall or a tent and the teachers marched past.
Everything went very well.
Our stress eased a little and we began to be soothed.
The happiest were complete families and orphans.
6 months went by without any problems and I obtained a visa and the papers to return to Belgium.
People asked me how I would do it, and I took out my glider but crossing an ocean is not like crossing a sea.
We opted for 4 sea containers and went across the Atlantic.
Discreetly but surely, we were being watched. The whole planet was watching and cared about its only 2 dragons! We were considered as super Pandas and our freedom was hanging by a thread or a mistake on our part. We were very careful at this level and we were accompanied especially with assistants (healers). I wanted to see my father who was still alive and see my cousins and know their children. I also wanted to visit the graves of my mother and grandparents.
This was greatly appreciated by the Belgians and I was asked what I would do first when I arrived on Belgian soil:
FRITES! And a "doreil" (a rice pie)
the journalists were folded in half.
My biggest concern was not to hurt or crush anyone.
I had a bow tie and Argentrix, a pink scarf. We moved like microlights following pre-established tracks and it was boring, but in a SURPEUPLE world, we had to be extremely careful!
We had sweaters with big numbers like for planes, a mandatory radio cb and a gps with a mandatory card like for small planes and we had to get out of the port first, cross the border or were acclaimed with a party and lots of children who wanted to meet 2 nice dragons. It was almost a royal visit but we had the royal visit and King Philippe welcomed us in person at the entrance to the territory and gave us personally our Belgian identity card with my name and address from the past. We were honored and they instantly understood that it was not a montage because I had kept my accent and I made typical mistakes in French specific to the region using slang and Walloon words, a local dialect.
My cousins recognized my voice, but I found them instantly in the crowd.
They jumped around my neck. And cried. Ténébrion refused any contact thinking, rightly or wrongly, that it was dangerous to risk a paradox, at least a spiritual one. He was right and I felt it when I approached my cousins.
They would join us later, as a family, when I see my father again.
We flew away, escorted by a police helicopter, which also wanted to work on its image and we had to land on the main square for protocol where a party and refreshments were at our disposal.
The square was packed and musicians had prepared a concert to welcome us and we both danced and kissed each other. And we bowed to thank my countrymen.
I was asked to roar so that they would hear a dragon roar once in their lives. Care was taken not to injure the ears or break the windows.
