Ke’an successfully changed System’s clothing to fit her and he inscribed a magic circle of warmth on them using the editor. After using the editor the third time he suddenly passed out, waking up several hours later with his head in System’s lap. He has an unusually sweet taste in his mouth almost like she had been feeding him honey but far more delicious. She is fast asleep, her back is up against the tree but she is slumped forward facing Ke’an. He takes the opportunity to get a closer look at her face. He thought she looked cute but also kind of funny without eyebrows then realized he is in the exact same situation having lost all of his hair as well. She has both a hood up and headwrap which hides the fact she is also bald.
Ke’an turns his head and looks out to the now brightening sky as the sun is slowly rising in the horizon. Then he feels a drip on his cheek and looks up again, noticing that his face is wet. System is still asleep but drooling which subsequently dripped onto his lips and into his mouth. Her saliva being unnaturally sweet and tasting like something far more delicious than anything he ever has eaten before. Even so his stomach churns in disgust as he realizes that he was asleep with his mouth open.
He remembered one of their conversations before in which she told him that the bodily fluids of an Administrator is akin to ambrosia. The only reason he isn’t driven insane is because he is no longer human himself. Still the thought of her slobbing into his mouth all night sends him into a disgusted panic. He quickly sits up accidentlily headbutting her as he wipes his face.
“Ah! What the fu-ahh!” System screams as she grabs her head.
“Sorry!” Ke’an says apologetically. “Are you okay?”
“That’s what I get for being nice.” System says as she continues to hold her head and lets out a pained whimper. “Who wakes up like that and headbutts someone?”
“It was an accident. You startled me! I don’t even remember going to sleep.” Ke’an says in his defense.
“You passed out. That is what happens if you use your Administrative authority too much in one day.” System says while rubbing her forehead.
“I only used it three times.” Ke’an states.
“So, two times is your limit.” Systems says.
“Could you only use it twice a day?” Ke’an asks.
“I was a being older than this universe! Of course I could use it more than twice.” System says with some haughtiness in her pained words. “After you live a couple millenia you will be able to create worlds. What level are you anyway?”
“Level? Is that on the menus as well?” Ke’an asks. “Wait, when I selected your…” Ke’an glances at her chest.
“My what, Ke’an?” System says as her gaze sharpens.
“Clothing.” Ke’an says with an innocent smile. “It said you were level one.”
“Yes, when I was reincarnated I was given the body of a fallen instead of a transcendent like you.” System says. “You should have a level too. You took my amazing power, even if you can’t stabilize reality, with all of my power you still have to be pretty high level… two hundred maybe higher.”
“How do I check?” Ke’an asks.
“Say or think the phrase, open profile self, and that should do the trick. Then just read me what is on the menu.” System says.
“Open profile self,” Ke’an says.
A menu appears in front of Ke'an; this one has an image of him standing in a neutral position with his current outfit on the right and text on the left.

Ke’an looks up from his menu not wanting to assign any points until he knew what it meant. System’s mouth drops in disbelief as Ke’an reads his profile. She didn’t know what to expect from Ke’an becoming an Administrator but didn’t think he would have dropped to an apprentice. It started to make sense why she had been brought back to life.
“Damn-it, Network.” System says in frustration.
“What network?” Ke’an asks.
“Ke’an tell me exactly what happened after I died.” System says ignoring Ke’an’s question.
Ke’an explains the laundry list of notifications he got after System died. The voice in his head that reached out to other administrators to stabilize the dimensional barrier was first. Then the vote to kill and replace him because he was not suited to be an Administrator. Infinity Inc. stepping for the next five years to stabilize reality. Finally the voice in his head telling him that he must be retrained and reach level five in the Tutorial Beta within the five years. System’s pale expression turned blue as Ke’an nonchalantly went over his experience in her absence.
“You’re administrator level freaking one! Nope-nope, I am done. Network! Network I know you hear me!” System suddenly shouts out in the sky. “I get it, what I did was wrong, I will take back my Administrator position.”
Ke’an looks around. “Who are you talking…”
“Kindly tell Miss Lock that her request has been revoked.” The disembodied voice Ke’an heard earlier says in his head.
The voice sounds tired but less robotic than how it normally sounds. It is as if he is talking to a person and not some sort of machine.
“Who are you?” Ke’an asks.
“My name is Network.” He says in a long sigh. “It is nice to make your acquaintance.”
“You tried to kill me.” Ke’an yells.
“That was the system, not me. You wouldn’t have been killed, just fired or reassigned. Now if you would be so kind as to relay my message to Ms. System Lock.”
“Is he talking to you?” System asks Ke’an.
“Yes, but hold on.” Ke’an says while holding up one finger. “Why don’t you tell her yourself?”
“She is no longer an Administrator and as a low level fallen if I tried it would fry her brain.” Network continues. “I am only communicating to you as a professional courtesy for her long service to Infinity Inc. Normal communication will continue from this point forward.”
“Tell him to talk to me directly.” System says.
“He said that would not be a good idea unless you want to be six feet under again.” Ke’an say.
“Well what did he say?” System asks.
“That your request is denied.” Ke’an states
“This is bad, like really bad.” System says as her shoulder slump.
“Who was that?” Ke’an questions.
“Network. He is like our I.T. guy and a real stickler for the rules. He is also the one that does all of the prerecorded messages you get too… oh-wait you don’t know what most of that is. What is the most advanced technology on this planet?”
“There is technology and magitech which are you asking about? Keep in mind I am from a lesser clan of magic thieves so I know more about security measures than technology. Also this is my first time outside of my village alone.”
“Give me an example of both.” Systems says.
“As far as technology there's a rumor that some guys in Ba’else invented some kind of airship that people can fly in without magecraft. I haven’t seen it but I heard it has wings like a bird and big fans that use tiny explosions like the magicless wagons… autokinitics, I think they are called. As far as magecraft and magitech, I'm pretty sure the artifact nation killer weapon Eidolon’s Embrace is the most advanced thing in the country.”
“So your people have factories and assembly lines then?” System asks.
“Yes.” Ke’an says affirmatively.
“Okay so around a second industrial revolution stage,” System surmises to herself while tapping her finger against her thigh. “You can think about it like this then, Network is like the mechanics that work on those magicless wagons to keep them running.” System says as she rubs her temples. “And we just gave him a lot of work with me being dead and all. A lot of work he wants to get off of his plate as soon as possible. Meaning you go up five Administrator levels or he pulls the plug on this world, killing everyone. You will be sent off to retrain somewhere else and I like die-die… like cease to exist die.”
“Well that sounds bad.” Ke’an says.
“The tutorial is going to change aspects of this world to help you level up. That means monsters, people and the environment are going to become far more dangerous.” System says. “It is going to be gradual but that's why they brought me back from the dead to help you figure it all out, I am guessing. Well it’s that or to kill me for good.”
“So nothing left for us to do but go back to my village then.” Ke’an says as he stands up and stretches. “I have been away from home for a long time. I am sure they are worried.”
“You are acting really calm about this whole situation!” System whisper-screams.
“Freaking out about it is not going to do anything.” Ke’an says as he walks over to his travel bag. “All I have to do is get stronger, right? That's no big deal, my clan is all about getting stronger. How long was I in the crucible? It shouldn't still be winter.”
