Chapter 6 - Reactions**

**Eirana Nevada's POV**

I was still in my room trying to process the strange emotions I was feeling when I came to a decision. I realized I never really had a great example of parental love, which has led me to have a bad relationship with my own children, especially Tarious. That's not what I want. Seeing Tarious in such a position made me realize not just how much I love him but also his sister. I want to have a relationship with them that my parents never had with me. I want to love and be loved. "From today onward, I will become a proper mother to my children." Just as I muttered those words to myself, "Boom!" My door burst open, and an elven guard looked right at me. I was angry that this elf dared to disrespect me by barging into my room like this, but I calmed down. I knew no elf would dare be so insolent unless it was for a good reason; after all, none of them have a death wish. My eyes sparkled with curiosity as I looked up at him, waiting for him to speak.

"Madam, the prince has been kidnapped."

My eyes widened, and my heart started racing. For the first time in centuries, I lost complete control of my emotions. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S BEEN KIDNAPPED!" I shouted, my chest heaving up and down as panic began to set in. 'Kidnapped? What does he mean, kidnapped? Just when I decided to treat him better and finally be a mother to not only him but Starlia as well, someone goes and kidnaps him? Who would even dare to kidnap a member of the Royal Family?' "Wheeze, wheeze." I grabbed my chest as it became difficult to breathe.

"Your Highness, please calm down." In a burst of speed, the guard was in front of me. He gently grasped my shoulder, a light blue glow enveloping his gauntlets as he infused his magic into me. A cool, cold air traveled into my body, calming me down. It was like drinking a nice cold drink after a long summer day, refreshing and revitalizing my body. I could finally breathe normally again. I took a deep breath, suppressing my rising emotions and calming my racing heart. My years of emotional control kicked in as I suppressed all the emotions I was experiencing. My usual cold expression returned to my face.

"Tell me where he was last seen," I said in a cold tone. 'One thing's for certain: whoever did this will suffer a fate far worse than death.' My marigold eyes gleamed with malicious light.

"He was last seen in the kitchen with his sis—"

Sparks of green light enveloped my body. Before the guard could even finish talking, I was gone.

**The Kitchen**

I appeared in the dining room, my amber eyes taking in every single detail. The dining room was a mess, cracks littered the ground, and in the middle of it, a massive gaping hole was in the ground. I assumed a chunk of the ground was ripped out. Half the dining table was disintegrated along with all the chairs except one. The restoration runes appeared all over the kitchen, gleaming with a snowy white light, and in a second, everything was back to its original state. But I paid no attention to that. I could still feel the faint traces of bloodlust in the air, but that wasn't what had me worried. Starlia was knocked out and being held gently by an elven maid. That wasn't the bad part—faint markings traveled across her skin, showing that she had been recently bound and restrained by chains—but what had me concerned was the faint green aura of a lingering spell around the markings.

"Crack." My vision was overtaken by nothing but blue as my aura suddenly flared up, cracking the recently restored surroundings. My heart started racing, and my hands started shaking. For the first time in my life, I felt fear—not for myself, but for Tarious. I recognized the magical signature coming off Starlia. I knew who had taken him. Before things could get out of control, I composed myself. The shaking of my body stopped, and I reined in my aura. The restoration runes quickly appeared and restored everything. I looked around at the guards, my amber eyes shimmering with barely concealed anger.

"Someone explain to me everything that happened here and why there were no guards to protect Tarious," my cold voice rang out throughout the entire kitchen.

The head guard stepped up before kneeling on one knee, his bright blue armor glittering in the sunlight. "Mistress, somehow an unknown figure was able to infiltrate the barrier guarding the kingdom without any alarms going off. Some type of artifact was used that temporarily disabled the defense systems of the castle. We suspect the technology used was Morendil Techna. Our defenses were just out for a little over ten minutes, but the figure moved fast. Some type of tech was also used to disable all sound in the kitchen temporarily. Once again, we suspect it was Morendil Techna." The guard bowed his head completely to the ground. "We are deeply sorry for this folly of ours that resulted in the young prince being taken. But the scouts are doing everything they can to find the person responsible. This is a deep scar on the pride of the elves, and rest assured, we are doing everything in our power to find who was responsible." At this, all the guards and maids bowed completely, their heads touching the ground.

"And why is Starlia knocked out?" I questioned.

"When we got here, she was struggling and crying, trying to get out of the chains. When we freed her, her aura started flaring, and she was about to destroy everything that came in contact with her. We acted quickly, swiftly knocking her out. We were about to take her to her personal chamber when you appeared."

"Hand her over to me." The maid that held Starlia in her arms brought her over to me. I gently held her in a princess carry. 'I think this is the first time I am actually holding her other than when she was born.' As I had that thought, my eyes flashed with regret and determination. I will find Tarious and be a better mother to both of them. The familiar warmth of teleportation magic enveloped my body as I teleported away.

We appeared inside her room. I gently laid her on the bed and tucked her in before leaving. I took a moment to observe her features. Her beautiful aqua blue hair flowed down her face in a tangled mess, her dried tear stains streaming down her face, but despite all of this, she still looked extremely cute. I stroked her hair. 'How was I just noticing how cute she was?' My heart started beating rapidly as I looked down at her, and a strange warmth filled my chest. A sad smile came to my face.

"I wasn't much of a mother to you or your brother, but I promise I will do better. I promise I will find your brother, and then I will be the mother I never was to both of you." With that, I walked out of her room. I snapped my fingers, and five women dressed in all black appeared right in front of me.

"Find him, but be careful. He was taken by—"

2 hours later

**Omniscient POV**

Starlia woke up. Before even opening her eyes, she reached out to hug her brother, but he wasn't there. She tapped all over the bed, but he wasn't there. "Onii-chan, where are you?" Her voice still groggy from just waking up. "You know you can't hide from m—" Just as she was about to finish her sentence, the memories came rushing back. The mysterious figure, being bound by chains, and him taking Tarious. She remembered everything. In sparks of green light, she was gone.

**The City of Lúminost, the Capital of Nimloth**

Starlia appeared in the middle of the street. "Where is my brother?" she screamed. "WHICH ONE OF YOU HAS MY BROTHER?" Her emerald green aura surrounded her body, sparks of magic cracking like lightning around her, ready to erupt at any moment. A random elf approached her. He looked more like an average human than an elf. He had unkempt brown hair and the same colored eyes. The only thing that gave his heritage away was his pointy ears. Maybe he was a selfish guy that saw an opportunity to get close to the princess. Maybe he was just a brave, naive fool who genuinely wanted to help and was concerned for her safety. Maybe he was a servant of the people and was concerned about the unreal amount of power she was radiating. Whatever the case may be, this elf was the straw that broke the camel's back. "We don't know where your brother is, Princess." Eight simple words were all he said, and that was it. Starlia snapped. "You're lying! You have hated him from the moment he was born, and now you kidnapped him for your own sick games," she screamed, the anger and pain in her voice evident.Tears ran down her face as her emerald green aura intensified, her magic crackling around her like lightning as she levitated into the air. Her hair was flaring wildly behind her as she raised her hand. "Traitors, all of you! You deserve to suffer and die." Starlia released her power, disintegrating everything and everyone around her.

It is said that it took one of the royal guards to stop her. This day would later be known as "The Shattering of Lúminost."

Today was the day Starlia's magic permanently altered the geographical location and environment of Lúminost.
