**Chapter 1 - Naming Ceremony**
It's been five years since that bastard Zarious sent me here, and I have to say, it hasn't been fun. First, on the day my sister Starlia and I were born, she had an early awakening of her elven bloodline, which left everyone with the expectation that I would have an early awakening as well. But guess what? I didn't awaken. As a result, Starlia became the favorite child of my mother, and I became the black sheep in the family. Mother usually doesn't even look in my direction and leaves the servants to take care of me. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I'm part of the royal family. My mother, Eirana Nevada, is the queen of all elves, my sister Starlia Nevada is the beloved child prodigy, and then there's me, Tarious Nevada.
Well, you might be thinking it can't be that bad, you're royalty. To that, my dear friend, I would say you're very, very wrong! I had the "privilege" of being born with curly purple hair and the same colored eyes. In my humble opinion, I say this makes me look handsome. Unfortunately, the people of the kingdom do not share this sentiment. They say I look like a dark elf. Apparently, the color purple represents dark magic, which dark elves are notorious for. Who knew? Anyway, this made people very scared of me, saying I was the "incarnation of evil."
For my fourth year of the moon, this random elf tried to drown me with water magic. He was mumbling some stuff about how I needed to be purified. Well, Starlia lost it and froze him to death on the spot. No one ever tried to harm me again in fear of my sister's wrath. I guess what they say is true: hell has no fury like a woman scorned.
You see, despite the fact Eirana ignores me and everyone treats me like the plague, Starlia loves me.
"Oni-chan!"
"Speak of the devil," I thought.
Before I knew it, I was on the floor, Starlia's hands wrapped around me in a tight hug. "Cough, cough," I wheezed out. "You're... crushing my ribs," I managed.
She immediately let me go. "Sorry, I really need to learn to control my strength." A cheeky smile was plastered on her face. Looking at her, I couldn't help but gawk at how cute she was. She had the same aqua blue hair as Eirana, but her eyes were a piercing shade of ocean blue, and her smile showed off her pearly white teeth, along with some baby fat that just added to her cuteness. She was the type of girl you could tell just by one glance would be beautiful when she grew up.
"Oni-chan, I know I'm cute, but stop looking at me with that creepy look. If you continue to look at girls this way, you will never get a girlfriend~" Her voice came out in a teasing tone.
I pinched her cheeks. "You damn brat!" I yelled.
We were suddenly interrupted by a flash of green light as a maid teleported in. She had her head held low, not daring to look directly at the "incarnation of evil." Starlia glared at her in disdain. "What do you want?" The playfulness from earlier was gone, and her voice was now capable of freezing the sea. Honestly, it still amazes me how a five-year-old could pull off such a tone.
The maid was shaking in fear of angering Starlia. Everyone seems to be afraid of her after the incident. "M-madam Eirana r-requests f-for an a-audience with the two of you." The maid seemed like she was on the verge of tears just by delivering that message.
Starlia turned to me, a warm expression on her face. "Hug me." I was going to say something when she interrupted, "Just do it." I grabbed her and pulled her into a tight hug. Sparks of green light began to appear, and in a flash, we appeared in the throne room.
The throne room was beautiful. Everything from the floor to the throne my mother was sitting on was made out of ice. What made this scene even better was the sunlight shining inside the room, making the room look like it was sparkling. I let go of Starlia, whose usually pale cheeks were now rosy pink. "Looks like someone enjoyed themselves a little too much," I teased, getting my revenge for her teasing me earlier.

I walked towards my mother, Starlia following behind me, blush still on her face. Mother was sitting there looking as majestic as ever. Her cold expression could freeze the blood in a man's veins. Her piercing yellow eyes looked as if they could see through your very soul, revealing all your secrets. My eyes drifted down to her figure. She was wearing a white dress that accentuated her curves, and her long, milky white legs were crossed, revealing her perfectly developed thighs.
Starlia stepped in front of me. "Why did you call us here, mother?" A small smile briefly appeared on her face before disappearing. "It is the fifth year of the moon for both of you. That means today is your Naming Ceremony."
Starlia had a confused expression. "What's that?"
Mother looked directly at me, disdain in her eyes. "You will be brought to the world tree to awaken your bloodline and mana." Starlia's confused expression remained, "but I was already awakened, though."
"You will also be given your true name by the world tree," my mother continued.
"True name?" Starlia questioned.
"It's a name the world tree bestows upon you, but be warned: if your true name is revealed to anyone, you can end up as a slave or dead."
"So why even get one? They sound like they're not worth the trouble."
"Because a true name is the only way for an elf to reach their full potential. Also, if the world tree takes a liking to you, it can give you its blessing."
Starlia looked like she had more questions, but my mother interrupted her. "That's enough questions. It's time for the Ceremony." She snapped her fingers, and once again, sparks of green light surrounded us.
I looked around to see where we were teleported. We were in a luscious blue forest. The air was pure and refreshing, and I could even feel myself growing stronger by inhaling it. All around us were different plants shimmering in blue magical energy. Even though I wasn't awakened, I could feel the pure magic this place radiated. It felt calming and empowering.
I looked up in the sky to see dozens of birds flying about. Some resembled normal birds, some resembled small dinosaurs like Pterodactyls, and others I couldn't even describe.
"Phwoar!" I heard something fly past my eyes. I looked around, and I don't know how I had missed such an impressive sight. All around us were spirits. Some resembled pixies and unicorns, some were even just tiny balls of light. There were even humanoid ones, along with ones words couldn't even describe.
"Haha!" I heard Starlia laughing. I saw her on the ground playing with some pixie spirits. It seems we were in the Great Forest of Srilania, a forest renowned even among elves for its pure magical energy.
This forest also contained an abundance of different herbs that could be used for various purposes, like making healing potions, enhancing spells, and creating antidotes. You could say this place was a goldmine for any herbalist. Because of how pure the magical energy was in this place, it was the perfect breeding ground for life: animals, spirit beasts, spirits—whatever you could think of, it was here, provided you went deep enough into the forest.
I was still looking around in awe of this place when I saw a bunch of people being teleported into the forest. 'Mother must be teleporting them here to watch my awakening.' A barrier surrounded them, stopping them from walking too far. This was the sacred forest of Srilania, after all; can't have commoners walking around.
The people were looking around in awe when...
"Greetings, everyone!" My mother's body was coated in a blue aura. She was levitating in the sky, her voice booming from all directions. "Today is the Fifth Moon for my children. I'm sure you all know what that means!"
The people began to chat among themselves excitedly.
"Today is the Naming Ceremony," my mother's voice continued. "Starlia will be going first."
Mother began performing some strange hand signs, and strange ruin markings began appearing all over the forest. Then, suddenly, with a sound like shattering glass, a massive tree emerged in the middle of the forest. Its roots were massive and traveled along the entire forest. The tree radiated life and vitality, and a strong wave of magic flowed from it into the forest. It was the world tree. It seems some type of magic was blocking it from being seen before.
We were all standing in awe until my mother's voice woke us up. "Go and touch the world tree, Starlia."
Starlia looked at me, a confident smile on her face. "Be right back," she said, then disappeared in a shimmer of green light and reappeared in front of the majestic world tree. She reached out her hand to touch the tree, and then...
**Omniscient POV**
As soon as Starlia touched the tree, green magic exploded from her body, shooting up into the sky and engulfing the entire forest. Everything in the vicinity was instantly evaporated—plants, spirits, animals—anything unfortunate enough to come into contact with Starlia's magic simply ceased to exist.
**Tarious's POV (MC)**
'Shit! Why is she so fucking powerful?!' I scrambled to grab onto a tree trunk as I was thrown back by the winds her magic was generating. "Purrg!" A small bird shrieked as it was flung straight into the barrier protecting the crowd watching the ceremony. The bird turned to mush upon impact. 'Damn, another one? And what's that barrier made of?! Why are all these people perfectly fine, the wind isn't even affecting them?!'
The crowd inside the barrier stared in stunned silence, their faces etched with awe and horror, but remarkably unharmed. I glanced up at Mother, expecting to see amusement or pride, but to my surprise, she was looking right at me. Her expression was filled with concern. 'Nah, I must be dreaming, right? There's no way she's actually worried about me.'
As if on cue, she snapped her fingers, and a barrier formed around Starlia, forcefully containing and suppressing her magic. 'Oh, thank god! That felt like a natural disaster.' I slumped against the tree, drained. Looking back at Starlia, whose magic was still struggling against the barrier, I couldn't help but think, 'My family is way too OP...'
