Vol 1 Chapter 8: Great Future Adventurers (Canaria dungeon accident) Part 4
"Flynn! You need to pull that rope!"

Playing with my phone, it's noon already, Lisa and I sit against the wall waiting for Alan and Flynn to prepare the tents for us to sleep in tonight.
"There is no signal in here"
I said to Lisa who stirred the noodles inside the pot.
"well, dungeon magic prevents signals from going in and out, but I've heard a new prototype magic item allows signals to go through"
"Isn't it just a scam"
"ehehe maybe"
Chuckles, Lisa put several spices into the pot, and the water inside the pot started to turn purple, distracting myself from the incoming problem, I looked around the campsite.
Plenty of our classmates have gone to eat and sleep dead tired inside their tents, Mr. Darin and Mr. Bell cooking their own food while keeping an eye out for monsters, they have set up a magic item to drive away monsters from our camp, and a wire surroundings the camp that would trigger the alarm that was set up, while others adventurers also set up their camps close to us.
Feeling my eyes getting heavy, I really want to sleep, today's exploration has drained our energy, and my body was aching from fighting monsters, In the end, we managed to hunt 15 goblins and 6 grey wolves, and our level has raised to 4, while others group only managed to raise 2 or 3 levels, and I still had 20 status points that I haven't used, even if I was tired, hunting monster's and level up brings so much satisfaction.
"Done!"
"We did it!"
Alan and Flynn high-fived each other in celebration after successfully setting up the tents, ah finally.
"where are you going Ruby?"
Alan asked me who started to crawl toward the tent.
"I'm going to sleep"
"you are not going to eat first?"
"you and Flynn could finish the noodles, I'm good"
"We going to eat your portion you know!"
"do not regret it!"
"yes, yes"
Rolling out my mattress, I closed my eyes and immediately fell to sleep like a rock.
"Ruby, please wake up, Ruby, we have to get out, RUBY!"
"hah?"
Someone shook my body to wake me up, when I opened my eyes, who I saw was Lisa, her expression showed a sign of concern.
"Lisa? What happened?"
Seeing Lisa's expression, I felt Like cold water splashed onto my face, making my consciousness return in a second, I immediately sat up from my sleep.
"uhm....there is a problem with the dungeon"
"with the dungeon?"
Crawl out of the tents, I saw our classmates and adventurers inside the camps panicked packing their belongings and equipping their weapons.
"what happens?"
I ask Alan who is ready with a sword on his hips.
"I don't know, there was an earthquake and Mr. Darin told us to pack our belongings, you also should prepare yourself Ruby, we are going out of here"
Alan's expression was dead serious, this was not a laughing matter, I quickly put on my equipment and grabbed my Spear.
"LISTEN!! Abandon what you are doing! There is no more time!!"
Mr. Darin shouted in the middle of the camp while Mr. Bell gave orders to the students to abandon what they were doing, I and Alan walked to Mr. Darin while Lisa and Flynn waited near the tents with backpacks on their bodies, thankfully Lisa had packed my bag for me.
"There is no more time! Get what you have and we are going out of here! NOW!"
After Mr Darin's proclamation, all the students and adventurers start to abandon their stuff and walk toward the exit, while the students gather around Mr Bell.
"What happens, Mr Darin?"
Alan asked, hearing Alan's question Mr Darin only stared at us without a word, Mr. Darin had worn his helmet that he had not used yet all this time so I couldn't determine what expression he had, no, maybe that's why he wearing his helmet now.
"Mr Darin-"
"this is urgent"
Mr Darin said with a cold tone in his voice sending chill to me and Alan.
"to be honest with you, I myself was not sure what exactly going to happen, but, I felt someone, something had watched us since the earthquake that happened, this is not a good sign, something is coming"
"what do you mean Mr Darin?"
"shut your question Alan, get your friend out of here is your priority"
"....yes sir"
This is the first time I heard Mr Darin this unemotional and blunt, this is different from his kind demeanor.
"let's go ruby, we need to go"
"yeah"
Alan seemed to not expect such an answer from Mr Darin, Alan must have realized this was not a time for wasting time but he was low-spirited right now, walk to Lisa and Flynn, they must have seen what happened.
"Alright, we are going to wait for the other near the exit so we can go right away"
Alan said, But before we could move, one group of adventurers ran into the campsite.
"Mr Darin! Mr Darin!"
One man desperately called, followed by other three people, his face was pale and sweat trickled from his face like a waterfall, it's the same for the rest of his group.
"What happened?"
Mr Darin asks the man, he seems to be the leader of the party.
"We are going out to the first floor, but there are different monsters in there!! Approaching us! Into the second floor!!"
He frantically tried to explain to Mr. Darin, Mr Darin listened in silence contrast to the distraught adventurers.
"What did you see"
Mr Darin lowered his voice, he did not ask but demanded, there was something wrong with Mr Darin.
"w-we saw Minotaurs!! Minotaurs on the first floor!"
With these words, all the adventurers around us start to shout in distress.
"That's impossible!"
"This is dungeon irregularity!"
"monsters stray has happened! We need to get out of here!!"
"But there are Minotaurs outside right?!"
Seeing the adventurers' agitation, the students get more anxious and frightened, hearing the new discovery, Mr Darin is unphased, he just lowers his head in silence, seeing this, even Mr Bell seems worried, without regard to his surroundings, Mr Darin lift his head and take off his helmet.
"how much?"
"h-how much...."
"say it to me, how much are the Minotaurs on the first floor"
The adventurer looked to his party behind him trying to gather the courage to say the word, lowered his head the adventurer deliriously said the number to Mr Darin.
"uncountable...h-hundreds, and that is only what we can see! We didn't know how many there were!! M-maybe thousand!!"
Hearing that, my stomach dropped and my heart sank, we are going to die here, is the only thing that came to my mind, looking at the other three, they must have the same feeling, my eyes met with Alan and he only wryly smiled to me.
Is this the end? Is there nothing we can do?
"Silent!"
A voice echoed inside the dungeon, the owner of the voice was Mr Darin himself, looking toward the surrounding adventurers and students, Mr Darin took a look at us before changing his gaze toward the adventurers.
"listen adventurers!"
Mr Darin shouted toward all the adventurers inside the dome.
"There are going to be Monsters stamped in here!!"
Mr Darin proclaims.
"We are going to die!"
"There is no hope"

All the adventurers were eaten in hopelessness.
"y-you are silver rank! Do something about it!"
From the hopeless and pathetic mumbling of the adventurers, one of the adventurers trying to confront mr Darin.
"T-thats true isn't it! You are strong! Do something about it!! R-right everyone?!"
The adventurer looked around trying to gather support from other adventurers, but they all diverted their gaze, not saying a word, even in such hopeless situation, no one dared to offend a silver-rank adventurer, Minotaur was strong for the adventurers in here, but Mr Darin was in completely different realm.
"such stupidity"
Alan muttered under his breath.
Seeing that no one going to back him up, the adventurer looked more frightened than he was before.
Mr. Darin walks to the adventurer who tried to confront him, seeing this the adventurer starts to shake in fear, and the pressure from Silver Rank pushes his soul to the edge.
"do you understand I'm strong?"
Mr Darin said to the adventurer's face.
"y-yes! I-im sorry!"
The adventurer's face was beyond pale standing face to face with Mr Darin, even all the adventurers and students were bathed in cold sweats from the pressure, is this what Silver Rank looks like?
Divert his gaze from the tormented adventurer, Mr Darin looked toward other adventurers on the second floor, under the gaze of Silver rank, all adventurers could only lower their heads with their gaze on the ground.
"You are all weak!"
Mr Darin shouted, but no one said anything.
"Even If you all come to me! No one would be able to bruise me! Let alone draw a blood!"
Mr Darin paused for a moment, looking at the weak adventurers.
"how many levels do you have?! Three!? Five!? Ten?! You just become adventurers not long ago!! All of you!"
Mr Darin shouted.
"But you are adventurers!! Look at them!"
Mr Darin pointed his finger toward our groups, to all the students who watching in silence.
"They are all not adventurers!! But they didn't shake pathetically like all of you!!"
"t-they didn't understand what going to happen!"
One of the adventurers replies.
"they do! They know what going to happen!"
Mr Darin pulls out his sword, makes the adventurers step back.
"Why do you think they didn't know what happened?! With all your pathetic whine!! About how we are going to die!!"
Mr Darin's voice was filled with anger.
"you afraid to death!! And all of these students understand that after seeing you pathetic coward!!!"
"BOOOMMM!!!"
Mr. Darin swung his sword into the ground sending dirt and stones flying like rain, a good chunk of the ground exploded with a light swing.
All the adventurers cower in fear seeing silver rank adventurer show off its power.
"Is this the future adventurers?!! Pathetic!! You all embarrassed me!!"
Mr Darin screams in frustration.
"Now we all going to die! You! Me! All people on this floor would die!!"
all the adventurers' morale shattered after hearing this word from the strongest person in the room.
"This is not good"
Alan whispers to us, if this continues we are going to die without doing anything, looking at Mr Bell, he just watched all of this unfold.
"We need to ask Mr Bell help"
Alan said trying to walk to Mr. Bell, however, Mr. Bell realized what we wanted to do and raised his finger to his lips, telling us to not say anything.
"but die we are, we still adventurers! Any of you who want to live! And any of you who want to be strong!!"
Mr Darin's sharp gaze pierced the adventurers.
"I have sent a messenger to the dungeon guild!! Rescue would come in a few hours!! We just need to defend ourselves until that time!!!"
A glimpse of hope appears in everyone's heart.
"if you want to wait for your death here you can stay!! And for you who want to live in victory!! To die in glory!! Follow me!!"
The adventurers lift their heads, but no one moves their feet yet, they don't know what to do, to die in glory or wait for their death, the fear has grasped their hearts. However human was a desperate creature.
"I-I don't want to die a coward!"
One adventurers step up and voices its courage.
"me too!"
"We have two silver ranks!! We can win!!"
"I'm not going to embarrass my family!!"
"let those ugly cows come!"
One by one, the adventurers start to find their bravery, seeing this a smile appears on Mr Darin's face.
Suddenly, we heard a heavy footstep hurdling In this direction.

"M-minotaur!!"
What came was a group of Minotaurs, raging and frenzied entering the dome sending a wave of panic to everyone inside.
"Bell"
"I understand"
With one word, Mr Bell smiled and pointed his magic staff toward the Minotaurs.
"blue fire"
With one spell, a light blue fire erupted toward the minotaurs.

The screaming of suffering filled the dungeon with the sound of fire burning the air, the light blue fire turned all the Minotaurs to ashes, its clear color makes us able to see the Minotaurs were burned and destroyed inside the fire.

Soon enough the Minotaurs were no more than black dust on the ground, All the adventurers and students didn't have a word for such spectacular power.
"we could win this!! I would bring you victory!! For you would be remembered!!! And for you to be strong!!!"

"We are not going to back down!!"
All the adventurers have forgotten the fear that lodged in their hearts minutes ago, instead, a burning spirit was lighting up, the motivation to fight has taken over the adventurers, Mr. Darin and Mr. Bell have given them the confidence to fight.
Preparing their gear, all the adventurers were ready to go to war.
walk towards us, we could see a kind smile from Mr. Darin face, Alan replied with his usual smile.
"Alan, I'm sorry for my word to you"
"that's not a problem sir! I understand you want to protect us"
Mr Darin smiled softened before his eyes turned grim.
"Alan"
Mr. Darin said, looking at me, Lisa and Flynn, Mr Darin seemed to think about something.
"you are the leader of this group, did you all want to be adventurer?"
Confused by Mr Darin's question, Alan gives his honest answer.
"yes sir, we want to be a great adventurer in the future, well, if we survive this"
Hearing Alan jokes, Mr Darin chuckles.
"hahaha! You all would be great adventurers! I believe that, you all have the talent, but what I'm most amazed about is that you all have such a beautiful friendship that you could trust in life and death, isn't that right Alan?"
"yes sir!"
Take a look at all of us, Alan happily laughs.
"That's why Alan, we need to use every hand we have, as the future great adventurers, I want to ask you for help"
Mr Darin said with a serious expression on his face.
"I ask you and your party to participate in this fight, to fight alongside us all, I know this is selfish to ask but-"
"I understand sir"
Alan said with confidence in his voice before looking at us.
"I would fight with you, but I'm sorry, I can't risk my friends' life, I-"
"What did you say Alan?"
I cut his word shortly, fight alone? Did he want to leave us here?
"I'm going to fight too, if we want to be great adventurers, this would come sooner or later"
I have some fear in my heart, but everyone has one, after seeing Lisa face her fear, I also didn't want to cower in the ground, I was going to be an adventurer.
Seeing my determination, Mr. Darin and Alan smiled, glimpsing at Lisa and Flynn they also had taken their decision.
"I would fight! For the courage my father has given me! And for everyone I love!!"
Lisa cheerfully clenched her hand in front of her face to show her spirit.
"so cute Lisa!! I didn't know you could talk like that!"
"ehhh?!"
I happily hug Lisa in my arms while she desperately wiggles to get away.
"well for me it's obvious, I'm going to go along with you guys no matter what happens"
Flynn said in faith, as if it's a natural thing to do, looking at us, Mr. Darin kindly smiled.
"for adventurers, no money and power could buy this Alan, to have friends who would follow you in life and death, you are lucky, remember that well"
Mr. Darin said to Alan with a serious tone, hearing Mr. Darin's words Alan looked at us with a big smile on his face.
"I will protect them with my life!"
Alan proudly proclaimed I might have not believed it if he had said it this morning, but now there are no words more convincing than that.
Walk along the cave we would find a group of Minotaur every few minutes, but Mr Darin would turn them to shreds with ease and the adventurers tried their best to help.
"sound wave!"

Cast sound wave toward three Minotaurs, the Minotaurs would get disoriented, and then other adventurers would kill them with sheer number, what amazing was we had no casualties so far.

I leveled up again, even with an assist kill, Alan, Lisa, Flynn and I had leveled up to 6, while our skill also raised considerably, especially sound wave has leveled up the fastest since it was the most skill I used today, I have used my skill many times and the tiredness starts to catch up to me, but I'm still far from my limit, I need to fight.
"Bash!!"
Alan smashed Minotaur's skull apart with his skill.
"water spear!"
Flynn cast water spear that pierced the Minotaur's eye before Lisa easily cut its throat with a sword, at first I was worried that Lisa to fight such high-level monsters on close quarter combat, but she was able to defeat the Minotaurs relatively easily with her sword art and movement, her aura was so distinct from usual Lisa, as if she was a different person, and the fact she hasn't used any of her skill makes me suspicious to her.
Her job class wasn't swordsman isn't it? ....but why would Lisa hide such a thing?
"Ruby! Please the left one!"
two Minotaurs appear in front of us, Mr Darin would move when there is a large group of Minotaurs, however, for the small number we encountered, we with the adventurers would fight them so Mr. Darin could preserve his stamina, while Mr. Bell and other mages would cast their spell from time to time.
"sound stab!"
Activated my skill, I stabbed my spear toward the Minotaur and invincible power hurled in the air to stab the Minotaur in the throat, draw blood from its wound, the Minotaur stepped back in shock, Alan and other adventurers quickly killed the other Minotaur in a second and quickly moved to the wounded one.
"the ground was shaking!"
One of the adventurers shouted, there is a vibration in the cave, this means a large group of Minotaurs has moved toward us.
"fall back!!"
Mr. Darin said while moving forward with his sword drawn and a helmet on his head, the helmet was decorated with two horns on its side making it an intimidating sigh.

Another batch of Minotaurs has arrived, seeing this Mr. Darin stands like an iron wall to protect us.
"Hmph!! War cry!!"
Activating his berserker skill a high-pitched scream hits the groups like a truck, the cave wall is shaking violently making us holding our heads from the fallen rock and crystal.
With this skill, all the Minotaurs were pushed backward, some bashed their head into the wall, some got stamped by their own and others fell like a domino.
With one skill he could change the scene of the fight, this is silver rank adventurers.
Seeing the Minotaurs full of openings, Mr Darin sped through toward them and swung his sword wildly, the wall was chipped and shattered, blood and body parts flying, the dungeon was a horror scene before all the Minotaurs turned to particles of light leaving their monster cores.
"this is better than I thought"
Mr Darin said while walking to us and the adventurers.
"nice!"
"We could win like this!!"
"that's silver rank for you!"
"We would be legends!!!"
Praise and cheers from adventurers filled the caves.
"we will continue to fight, preserve your stamina and mana as much as possible to prolong this battle, if you want to take a drink, now it's time"
Other adventurers quickly pull out their bottles of water to refresh their tired bodies, some even take a bite from their food to replenish their stamina, four of us also pull out our drink and Alan starts eating his rice bowl like a maniac.
"our strategy was working splendidly against the Minotaurs, with fighting in this cave we managed to decrease their advantage in numbers"
Mr. Bell said, drowsyness could be seen on his face, but he happily smiled to lift our morale.
Suddenly, I heard a faint footstep inside the caves.
"What is that?"
"Something is coming!"
"is it Minotaurs again?"
Other adventurers also heard the noise, and quickly ready themselves for another fight.
Mr Darin standing in front of us with his sword ready to kill anything in its way, while Mr. Bell raised his magic staff to cast a spell.
but what coming was not a Minotaur.
Instead, it has more of a human-like feature, with armor and a sword on its hips, its armor is dark in color as if it was cut from the night sky itself and its face was covered in a helmet, with no skin to be seen from him, a lone knight has casually walked toward us, but there is something wrong with him, something unexplainable.
"Who is that?"
"that's a human!"
"It's an adventurer!"
"the dungeon guild reinforcement has arrived!"
Cheers and hope were rising among the adventurers, but me and Alan frowned, looking into each other faces, Alan prepared his sword to attack.
"Who are you!"
Mr Bell shouted toward the lone knight, yet the knight kept walking, didn't show any sign of reaction to the question Mr Bell asked.
Seeing this Mr Darin seems ready to attack anytime.
"Are you sent by the dungeon guild?"
However, Mr Bell walked closer to the knight believing it was friendly, logically thinking, there was no reason for the knight to attack us, yet the dungeon was not a place to be logical.
"Bell! Come back!!"
"Dark Fire"
But before Mr Bell could react, the knight has cast its spell.
"AGGaaghhaaahhhhhhaa!!!!!"
"BELL!!!"
Mr. Bell suddenly covered in dark fire and his voice of suffering echoed inside the dungeon, his pain and struggle were for everyone to see, Mr Darin shocked to his bones while we are couldn't process what just happened.
"W-water Ball!"
Flynn tried to put off the fire with his magic to no avail, the fire burning as if nothing happened, soon enough the sound of suffering gone quiet.
What was left of Mr Bell was black dust on the ground, he had burned to ashes.
Looking at the knight, a group of Minotaurs has emerged behind him, with one big Minotaur with golden armor and a giant sword.
The dark knight of nightmares has arrived.
