Vol 1 Chapter 7: Great Future Adventurers (Canaria dungeon accident) Part 3
After the unexpected announcement, we continued our journey toward the second floor.
"they are so lucky"
"I wonder if I got into their group, I would get a rare job class"
"that's impossible, Lisa got common class anyway"
"huh? She must be sad isn't she?"
"she might get kicked out of the party after this"
Useless mumbling from other groups raised anger and frustration in my heart.
"Don't they have something better to talk about?"
"just ignore them, ruby"
Walking beside Alan, with Lisa and Flynn behind us, we choose to walk at the rear of the groups, with Mr Bell following not too far behind us.
under the warm lights of the dungeon, our groups walked in the grass field with steady steps more than 20 people casually chatting with each other inside the dungeon where monsters wander around and yet we couldn't even find one monster to fight.
Exploring the first floor of the dungeon was more like a picnic, from close and afar we could see people fighting monsters in the grass field, some couple hunting slime together, and a father bringing his teenage son to hunt goblins in family bonding time, numerous amount of beginners and student like us fighting rabbit and slime, while the more experience one fighting goblin, no wonder they said this floor was too crowded.
"look that adventurer right there"
Following Alan's finger, there is a man with beginner's equipment like us fighting a goblin, however, his movement is different than others, he moves splendidly against the goblin.
"you see that, he must have so much experience in fighting goblins"
Alan nods in admiration.
"if he so experienced, why he didn't go to the deeper floor?"
"well, maybe he just felt like it"
"is that so"
Glimpsing behind me, Lisa casually chatted with Flynn, she didn't seem to be drowsy anymore or she was nervous and yet I couldn't get rid of Anxious feelings inside my heart.
"Still worried about her?"
Alan asked.
"not much, Lisa was a strong girl, she would do fine"
"I know that"
"then, why you asked"
I said curtly, looking into the distance, I still couldn't see the entrance to the second floor, seeing my usual demeanor Alan smiled.
"Ruby, are you planning to become an adventurer after this?"
"......"
Alan suddenly asks me, hearing the sudden question, I can't answer Alan's question right away, before I came to this place I had a vague hope of becoming an adventurer, however, after I got my job class a spear dancer, it is not a dream anymore to become a successful adventurer, but I was worried about something in my mind, seeing my uncertain feeling, Alan continues to talk.
"I and Flynn, we are going to be adventurers"
Alan said to me, pausing for a moment, he seemed to choosing the words he wanted to say, which was unusual for Alan.
"you know, this was a perfect opportunity for the four of us"
"for what?"
I asked Alan with firm tones, I know what he want to tell me, but I don't like where this is going.
"If we become adventurers like this, our party could become very successful"
"......."
Indeed, I would be very happy right now if four of us could become an adventurer, the thing is, only three of us want to be adventurers, that's means I would be separated from Lisa.
"I know you don't want to split away from Lisa, however, we are still best friends even when we choose our own way"
"....but I don't want it, only Lisa going to be left behind"
"no one going to leave her behind"
".. I know it sounds selfish, but I want four of us to go on adventures together"
Hearing my selfish words, Alan put his hand on his chin thinking hard.
"hmm....maybe we could change Lisa's mind, so she could become an adventurer with us"
"...you know we can't do that"
if I forced her to be an adventurer, it would be a very selfish thing to do, especially when the three of us had rare job class and she doesn't, I don't want her to get dragged into danger that she doesn't want.

Me and Alan walked in silence, none of know what to do in this situation, walking through the field, we were lost in our minds.
"Hi"
"ah?!"
"hmm!?"
Looking behind, Mr Bell had touched our shoulders.
"I'm sorry, I have tried to call you two, but it seems you both enjoyed your time together"
"is that what it looks like?"
"w-wha"
I could feel my face blushing, looking behind Mr. Bell, Flynn and Lisa holding their laugh, while Alan put on his stupid smile.
"I-I did not!"
My voice became higher than I Meant to be, this was bad, there would be more rumors about me and Alan! aahh!
"Well, I'm not here for long, I'm just want to give this to you two"
"wow! This is heavy!"
"A Spear?"
Ignoring my inner feelings, Mr Bell gave me a Spear and a big iron sword to Alan.
"This is the appropriate weapon for your class, please get used to it so you can maximize your talent"
"thank you!"
"thank you very much!"
Bow our heads to Mr. Bell, I looked at the spear in my hand, did I really want to be an adventurer?
"Look guys! I got a magic staff!"
Looking at Flynn, he's happily waving his new magic staff that Mr. Bell gave to him, seeing this Mr Bell whispers to us.
"Please don't tell him, but it's just a stick I found in the ground, don't worry, this also happened to me on my first day"
Mr Bell happily smiled.
After an hour of walking, we finally arrived in the stone cave that Arises from the ground, this is the entrance to the second floor.
"Now we are going to explore the second floor! inside was a cave and chamber of room! It's like a maze inside! Remember! do not get lost by wandering around! Do you understand!"

Venture inside, our group was the most behind with Mr. Bell guarding our rear, seeing around the cave, the surrounding was illuminated by white crystals above, it was like stars in a night sky!
"Lisa, isn't the crystal beautiful?"
"yes, it feels like a dream to venture inside the dungeon like this"
Lisa happily smiled, her smile always calms my heart, although what arose was a feeling of sadness, maybe I should say it now rather than later.....
"Lisa..."
"yes?"
"What were you going to do after this, after our graduation?"
I said, looking into the ground, I don't have the courage to see Lisa's face with my own eyes.
"...why so sudden ruby?"
hearing my question, Lisa innocently tilts her head.
"Because....you see....I..."
Ahh! I don't know how to said it! isn't this going to be our farewell with Lisa! I don't want it....
Hanging my head in sadness, Lisa lifts her head to see the beautiful crystal.
"you are going to be an adventurer aren't you, Ruby?"

She must know no one going to waste such an opportunity, it was only natural if you had a good job class, you have a big chance to become a successful adventurer.

Lisa said to me with her smile, her face didn't change even when she knew we were going to split up, isn't she sad we are going to separate away from each other, did she not think of me as her best friend......
Tears start to fall from my eyes.
"guuu..."
"Hm? Ruby?...ehh! Why are you crying?"
"hiks... I-it because...hiks... you didn't see me as your best friend anymore!"
"eehhh!"
"y-you....hiks... Didn't want to be my friend anymore...hiks...."
"T-that's not true!"
Lisa panicked didn't know what to do about me who cried, she looked toward Alan and Flynn who walked in front of us, but both of them pretended to ignore our situation.
"R-ruby! Please stop crying! Your beautiful face going to be ugly!"
"uwahhhh!!"
I'm crying harder.
"ehhhhh!? I want to be your best friend Ruby!"
"then why you are not crying!"
"a-am I supposed to cry too?!"
"why I am the only one who is sad when we are going to get separated!"
"b-but we aren't going to get separated?"
"....huh?"
What did she mean by that? looking into my eyes Lisa smiled.
"Ruby I have told you, about how I hate dungeons and monsters"
"....yes"
"ten years ago, I lived in a house near a dungeon, it's a small dungeon on the fringe of the city"
Telling her story, Lisa starts to be immersed in her memories.
"one day monster overflow happened in that dungeon, and monsters started to fill the street and kill people in the neighborhood"
Hearing Lisa, I remember the story that she told me in the past, the reason why she doesn't like monsters and dungeons.
"at the time that happened, I was playing outside with my big brother, when people started screaming to us to run, we already saw a monster in the distance running toward us, my brother carried me to the nearby alleyway to hide, and we curled our little body behind a trash can so monsters couldn't find us, I feel really scared at that times"
Even when telling the sad stories, Lisa's lip curled into a smile and her eyes filled with aspirations.
"then, what I saw when I lifted my head from my brother's chest was a mouth, a giant snake about to eat us whole, I thought I was going to die"
Even when telling such stories I could hear the excitement in Lisa's voice.
"however! Before the snake could eat us, something dragged the thing out from the alleyway, we heard the snake struggling, sound of a fight could be heard outside, in the end, we heard someone call our name, and a familiar voice calmed our hearts"
Lisa has told this story many times, and yet she always smiles when telling this part.
"Are you alright, Lisa? Kevin? A man asked us, you know who found us?"
"it's your father isn't it?"
"yes! My father has saved us from the evil monster! I immediately hugged him and my tears couldn't stop flowing from my eyes, not because I was scared but because I was happy, I thought my father was the strongest adventurer in the world"
Now sadness and sorrow filled Lisa's face.
"But....when my father died inside the dungeon, I started to hate dungeons and adventurers, if my father had not become adventurer he wouldn't died, the evil monsters took my father away...."
Tears started trickling from Lisa's face, her expression was full of pain.
"Lisa..."
"but, you know ruby"
Lisa lifted her head, and now her eyes were filled with determination and spirit.
"After I came to this place, my memories with my father started to come back inside my heart, now I know dungeons were not as scary as I thought, dungeons are not to be scared, it's to fight....now I realize my father fought to protect a lot of people, the people he loves, I have my doubts, but now I believe that my father made the right decision, that's why!"
Lisa smiled at me once again, however, this smile was different from any other smile she had shown, this smile was filled with overwhelming confidence.
"I'm going to be an adventurer! To fight the evil monsters and to protect people I love!"
"Lisa!"
I was going to hug her before two monkeys stopped me on my way.
"yes! That the spirit!"
"yahhooooo!!!"
"ah!"
"We are going to be adventurers!"
"We are the strongest!"
"Alan!? Flynn!?"
Alan and Flynn suddenly come in and lift Lisa on their shoulder, they start to parade her around the cave.
"p-please let me down!"
"Alan! Flynn! You bastard! Give Lisa back! "
"wahhooo!"
"yahouu!"
Trying to take Lisa from them, I could hear some weird noise in my ears, hm? What is that?
"wait, did anyone hear that?"
"hear what?"
Alan and Flynn finally realize something is wrong, they have stopped parading Lisa around, although they haven't let her down from their shoulder.
"hiks....hiks..."
"""" Mr. Bell?!""""
Our voice echoed inside the cave, looking behind us was Mr Bell with a handkerchief in his nose.
"What a beautiful story...hiks..I hope you all become successful adventurers....hiks...."
Did Mr Bell hear everything we talk all this time?! My face and Lisa's face turn tomato red in a second.
"Thank you for your support sir!"
"do you want some tissue sir!"
Lisa and I looked into each other faces.
AAAaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Silent screams echoed in our hearts, the embarrassment was out of this world.
After an indelible stain in our life, we immediately moved forward when we saw another adventurer entering the caves behind us, I hoped that adventurer didn't see what happened back there, lucky we were not too far behind so we were able to quickly catch up with the main groups in front of us.
When we entered the room inside the dungeon, it was so big even bigger than the sports stadium I had seen on TV, plenty of our classmates had stored their bags in the corner and started to wait in lines.
"hmm? Bell, you are late, is there something happening?"
"no problem Mr. Darin, it's just dust getting into my eyes"
"...Alright then"
after a few minutes of preparation, we were all finally ready, waiting in lines, Mr Darin walked in front of us and started to give his order.
"Alright, everyone! Now we are going to hunt the monsters! Cooperation is key! Make sure you fight together with your party! And do not wander too far so we could see you!"

This would be our first fight in our lives and our first journey as adventurers.
"water ball!"
"GYAHA!"
Flynn cast a water ball into the goblin's face, surprising and hurting the goblin to stumble backward.
"Ruby!"
"Sonic Stab!"
Activated my skill, my spear drilled into the head, falling into the ground, the goblin immediately turned into particles of light.

Is this how it feels to level up, I could feel My heart beating in my chest, it's like playing video games.
Looking at my status, Alan, Flynn and Ruby stand beside me.
"I can't see anything"
"yeah, I hope there is a way to see other people's status"
"That would be dangerous isn't it?"
while the three of them chatted with each other, I was faced with a hard decision.
"hmm...where should I spend it?"
Looking at my status, I need to weigh my options carefully, once a certain status was raised it couldn't be undone,
"It's speed and agility isn't it?"
Alan said to me, it might be good since my job class needs high speed and agility, but didn't I also need to raise other stat to level it up?
"what stat you raise Alan?"
"I spend all of it on strength!"
Alan starts to pose like a bodybuilder.
"all ten of them?"
"Absolutely!"
"and I spend all of it in MP since I didn't have much of it"
Flynn chimed in.
"aren't we supposed to raise other stat too?"
"well it's up to you isn't it"
Mr Darin walked to our group with a kind smile on his face.
"you know there are two types of status that exist?"
Mr Darin asked.
"is it specialized and all-around stat?"
Three of us shake our heads while Alan seems to know what is it.
"that's correct, there are advantages and disadvantages to both of these built, however, if you have a trustful party to get you going in your adventurer career"
Mr Darin looks into our faces one by one.
"It's better to specialize your status into certain stat and abilities, this way you could be much stronger on your specialty while other members of your party could cover your weakness, this is where a good balance between party members was most important"
"I see"
"Now you know which one you are going to choose?"
"yes! Thank you for your advice!"
"It's nothing, alright then I need to go to the others too"
Immediately put 5 points on speed and the other 5 on agility, I didn't feel any different, but moving by spear in my hand, I could see an obvious difference from before, I also could feel the control of my body become better.

"And then, now is Lisa's turn"
Alan said to Lisa, the goblin I killed a minute ago was the third goblin we have killed, with each goblin we killed, we level up to 2, Alan, Flynn and I, three of us have succeeded in raising our level, so now Lisa turns.
"yes!"
Lisa has become more confident and cheerful, I feel she has leveled up in her own way.
We immediately find one goblin warrior not too far away.
"Ruby, you would hurt him with sound wave and Lisa would give the final blow"
Alan smoothly set a plan for us with the knowledge he had about our ability and skill, even though it was not an hour since we fought together, he was a reliable person in a situation like this, extended my hand toward the goblin, I activated sound wave from my hand.
"GYAA!!!!!!"
The goblin tried to cover its ears with its hands and curled in the ground while blood was oozes from its ears.
"Now Lisa!"
"yes!"
"GYaa..."
Lisa then easily stabbed his sword toward the goblin's throat and the goblin turned to particles of light, it's might arrogant thing to say, but goblins were too easy to defeat.
"wait, watch out!"
Unexpectedly, a grey wolf was lurking from our left while we were fighting the goblin, the wolf jumped toward Lisa with its mouth wide agape, showing sharp teeth inside, I and Alan immediately moved our feet to shield Lisa from the wolf.
"....."
"Gyauu..."
Suddenly the wolf's head had fallen to the ground and turned into particles of light.
"...what just happened?"
Alan said in disbelief, I could only see a blurry image of it, however, I believe Lisa had beheaded the wolf while it was still in the air, so fast even the wolf didn't have time to process what happened.
"Lisa! Are you Okay!"
Run to Lisa, I asked her if she was hurt, but I could tell she wasn't even surprised by the grey wolf attack, what was that move?
"I'm fine"
Put her sword into its sheath, Lisa smiled.
"Lisa! What was that skill?!"
"I didn't know swordsman could be so strong!"
Alan and Flynn enthusiastically asked Lisa a bunch of questions, overwhelmed, Lisa glimpsed at me for help.
"stop you two, Lisa is still shocked after getting attacked by a wolf"
I said to Alan and Flynn, I'm not sure what happened but I'm glad Lisa was not hurt.
"ah, I'm sorry"
"I would bring you a drink, wait a minute"
Flynn runs to take a bottle of drinks from our bags.
"This hunt goes more smoothly than I thought"
Alan said cheerfully to me and Lisa.
"yes, the monster was quite weak"
"it's because we are strong isn't it"
I said jokingly, but I do believe we had talent and potential to back it up, we are possibly the strongest beginners in this dungeon.
"well that's true, we have killed more monsters than any other groups...hm?"
"what's wrong?"
"That adventurer..."
In the direction of Alan's gaze was a man fighting two goblin warriors, isn't that the same man that we had seen a few hours ago, he once again fighting goblins as if his life depended on it, is he specialized in goblin hunting?
"There's our classmates watching him"
Lisa pointed at the group who watching the adventurer up close, but hearing it from here, more than watching they were mocking him who had defeated two goblins warriors.
"Should we stop them, Alan?"
Although the group who had mocked the adventurer already walked away, it would be a problem if the adventurer chose to give them a lesson or two, hearing my question, Alan closed his eyes.
"no need, the adventurer had let them go, they are lucky the adventurer has some patience, I would make sure they got scolded by Mr. Darin later"
Looking at the adventurer, Alan said firmly.
"I hope we would never become like that, to look down on others no matter how strong we get"
"agreed"
"yes! My father would never do such a thing!"
Looking at the adventurer who picked monster cores and swords on the ground, I could see a bit of sadness in his expression.
"Hey! I bring you all a drink"
Flynn finally arrived bringing 4 bottles of water in his hand, drinking water from the bottle, I felt refreshed.
"then, should we continue to hunt?"
Alan said with spirit in his eyes.
