Vol 1 Chapter 5: Great Future Adventurers (Canaria dungeon accident) Part 1

Walking in a meadow, I could hear the sound of grass crushed under my feet, the fresh air filled my lungs and the sun almost rising in the sky

What a beautiful day.

"dark knight, there is a group of people ahead"

The knight girl said to me, this is a few hours after the massacre we just did and what I mean with we, is the knight girl.

"LIGHT OF JUDGEMENT!!!!!!!!"

With these words, the dungeon dome becomes pure white. The ground starts shaking violently and a high-pitched sound screams around us.

The adventurers shook their bodies in fear, me included.

"krttkkkk..."

The barrier starts to crack a little...

"the barrier!"

"it-its going to break!"

"hiks.....hiks..."

A concerning voice of the adventurers and sobbing echoed inside the barrier.

"do not worry, she knows what she's doing"

I said confidently toward the shaking adventurers, yes, the knight girl must know how strong this barrier is, that's why she feels safe to leave us here.

"KRRRkKKk..."

The cracks in the barrier start to get bigger and bigger.

Yeahhh...this is it

But before I could close my eyes to accept my fate, the shaking and high-pitched sound stopped. Looking around, The surroundings have become as silent as it was empty, there is no trace of Minotaurs anywhere inside the giant dome. The ground was lowered a few meters down around us, this was too much of power.

"Are you all alright?"

The knight girl asked, she casually stood there as if nothing happened. However I was glad she didn't make a mistakes and kill us all.

".....did the barrier crack?..."

I could hear her mumbling under her breath, but I couldn't hear it clearly, anyhow we had successfully saved the remaining adventurers. 12 adventurers are surviving from more than 50 people on the second floor and this is not counting adventurers that were not listed on this group, there are already casualties from the first floor, shortly said this is a disaster.

In the end, we managed to reach the first floor safely, it seemed the Minotaurs had grouped inside that one giant dome with their leader, we also found some magic items and ritual equipment, according to what the knight girl said, it was most likely a ritual to summon demons, this is a very rare instance of dungeon monsters to have this kind of planning and intention,

If they succeed, they going to cause havoc throughout the dungeon killing the adventurers on the deeper floor. They would also recruit other monsters inside the dungeon into their army.

I don't know what the dungeon monsters want or how they work, but I know I couldn't underestimate them.

The adventurers, on the other hand, are understandably very traumatized by what happened to them, some can't even stand on their feet after an hour. So I needed to carry two of them under my arm like a sack of rice, even carrying two people like this was an easy feat for me, I had become much stronger In only one day.

"Dark knight, there is a group of people ahead"

Focusing my eyes forward, there is a group of adventurers with more than 30 people in that group, steadily walking through the morning meadow.

upon seeing us they stopped for a moment before walking toward us, so we just wait them in the middle of the grass field.

Stopped in front of us, one of the adventurers steps up. A warrior with a tall and bulky stature, he has short red hair, and a big axe could be seen in his back.

"excuse me, my name was Kagan, I was the leader of this group, are you holy knight clerise?"

He asked the knight girl, holy knight cerise? Is that what her name is? One great mystery has been broken.

"yes I am"

"I am glad to meet you here and this gentleman...?"

He sees me with a sharp gaze, I am not a suspicious person you know.

"ah no need to worry he was my friend"

Clerise vouchs for me, the adventurer seems convinced by Clerise words, she believes in me too fast.

"Holy knight, we are the subjugation teams that were sent by the dungeon guild to help the adventurers on the first and second floor, but...."

The leader Kagan looking at the adventurers on my hand and behind.

"We have saved all the surviving adventurers and destroyed all the Minotaurs on the second floor"

"Is she that strong?"

A surprised voice comes from behind Kagan.

Kagan thinks for a moment, he seems disappointed we had done his and his group's jobs. Clerise seeing Kagan's group's disappointment frowned.

"I understand your feeling but we have to be grateful the adventurers were saved as fast as possible"

"oh absolutely! Holy knight, if there is something we can help we will gladly do so"

"We need to retreat the corpses of the adventurers inside, please, treat them with respect"

"yes, and we would leave half of our group to escort you and the adventurers out of the dungeon"

Clerise nods, Kagan and half of his group walk into the second floor. Fortunately, the group has prepared stretchers and healers for the adventurers, walking closer to the dungeon exit, we saw more and more people, from high-ranking adventurers to police officers guarding the exit.

"look they are back!"

"Isn't it to fast?!"

"calls the medic! We have patients here!"

People started to get noisy as we arrived, medics and escorts started to surround us, and they brought the adventurers for further treatment.

"Please this way"

Right beside the exit, there was a large amount of police and dungeon guild officials, I could already hear the sound of a crowd outside the dungeon.

Something is wrong, I have a bad feeling about this....

"Clerise I'm glad you are alright"

The sound of an old man welcoming us, an old man with white hair neatly combed backward, wearing what looked like an expensive suit, wrinkle could be seen on his face yet his body was sturdy unlike a normal person his age.

"nice to meet you again guild master"

Guild master?! This old man is? Every dungeon was managed by the dungeon guild affiliated with the government, and in every dungeon, there was one guild master as a director of that place. Even when the dungeon guild takes me in, I've never met the guild masters.

"....hmm?"

His gaze quickly turned to me, he was looking sharply toward me, I could feel his pressure hitting me, this old man was unbelievably strong, as expected from the guild master, but I wouldn't back down here. Seeing me stand my ground the guild master smiled.

On the bus, In the morning day of the weekend, seeing buildings and cars passing by, I couldn't suppress my excitement, we were on our way to the dungeon, and the inside of the bus was as lively as it can get.

One of the boys said jokingly and everyone laughed, we are the class B1 and were on our way to the Canaria dungeon from our high school as part of our study tour, although, it's more like a vacation to celebrate our near graduation. Yet the importance of this event could change our lives forever.

Dungeons are a dream of every person in the world, kids, teenagers, old, men, and women, everyone must have an interest in dungeons in one way or another, because our lives are always connected to dungeons, from manufacturing to various important materials and progress of technology, everything was related to dungeons.

Apart from it, one word that comes to people's mind when hear the word dungeon.

Adventurers

The people who dedicated their lives to diving inside the dungeon, adventurers brought inspiration and admiration. Some become more influential and famous than politicians and celebrities, their faces decorate billboards, television, advertisements and social media, just a hand full from more than 30 million full-time time adventurers that could become so famous around the world, even then, if you become normal adventurers, you could still live a comfortable life and gain considerable respect.

Regardless, One could always dream, especially the young one.

That's why we are excited to go to the dungeon for the first time in our lives. Most importantly, this is where our life is decided, when we enter the dungeon we can see our own status and from there our own job class.

This job class was a gate away to sudden rich and recognition, you are lucky if you could become a magician or warrior, a sword man or even a healer, if you get a good job class, your way in life would open by itself, however, what everyone wants was the exception, to be special than others.

Rare job classes like magic sword man, summoner, tamer, spirit magician, elemental magician, and knight, these job classes could bring you a comfortable life and envy, and you can be considered winning in life.

Above it all was a unique job class, the classification for the rarest job class included, shadow magician, sword saint, dragon rider, if you have a unique job class, you have won a jackpot, the fact from more than 100 adamantite rank adventurers, only 4 with common job class, while the rest of them has rare and unique job class is a prove of it.

"If I got a unique job class, I wouldn't need to find a normal job and just kill monsters in the dungeon!"

Excited for the future we happily talk about our possible adventurer's careers.

"Lisa, what job class do you want?"

I asked Lisa who sitting beside me, her dark hair cut short on her shoulder, with her cute face and beautiful eyes, she's my best friend.

"hmm...ah?....I don't know"

"eehhhh..."

Lisa's answer was ambiguous, she was not too excited to go to the dungeon.

"aren't you excited Lisa? Is there something in your mind?"

Lisa lowered her face, she has always been a shy girl, thinking for a moment Lisa finally answered my question.

"...isn't fighting monsters dangerous?"

"What?! Are you still thinking about that!"

One of the boys came standing beside our seat, his name was Alan.

"didn't I said to you I would protect you!"

"protect from what? Slime?"

I said sarcastically to Alan.

"damn you! When I got my unique job class, I would bury you in slime!"

"unique class! Hah! You wouldn't even get common job class!"

"but common is the lowest though"

"Exactly!"

Joking with Alan, Lisa only smiled like she always does, however, I knew she was still anxious.

" Lisa, you really shouldn't worry though, there is never any casualty in the dungeon newbie training program, I heard they have set up a great safety for us"

I said in assurance.

"....yes, I've heard of it, they would assign two silver-rank adventurers for us"

Silver rank adventurers, if you got a common job class, iron rank was the most likely what you would get in a lifetime, iron rank was the rank with the most members after wood rank and copper rank, so silver rank adventurers was a respectful position, the fact two silver rank assigned to escort us could be considered an overkill.

"I wonder if the silver adventurers were handsome, If so, I would like to ask his number! How did you think Lisa? "

"hmm... I'm probably too shy to do it"

"you realize most silver rank was old right since they need a long time to raise their level, and how did you know the ones who escort us would be a man?"

Alan chimed in.

We finally arrive at the Canaria dungeon

Looking around, the bus from other classes has just arrived, and there are also a lot of buses from other schools.

Steps our foot inside the building, we were welcomed by crowds of people, so many people here, businessmen, guards, students, tourists, and the most dominant of them all, adventurers.

"so many adventurers here!"

Alan said excitedly looking around, this guy going to embarrass us.

"well yeah, this is their workplace, that's why please be respectful alright"

The teacher said to Alan.

"I haven't even do anything sir!"

"Now, follow me"

Follows the teacher inside the building, this place is more like a giant mall, that has everything inside of it.

"Lisa look! Isn't that cake look so cute!"

"ah, you are right!"

"We are in this amazing place, and what grabbed your attention was a cake?"

"shut it"

Looking around there are so many adventurers casually walking around with their equipment, it's not adventurers are not common, it's that they rarely walk around on the street with their armor and weapon, so seeing all of this really interesting, you also could roughly tell which one the low ranking adventurers and which one has a higher ranking.

"Alan that guy carried a sword as big as you!"

"gasp! That's a giant sword!"

"he might be able to cut you in half, let's try it"

"wait, what?"

Looking around the stores and adventurers our group was led into one of the biggest stores.

"This is a dungeon center and right there was the dungeon entrance"

The teacher said.

"waahh are we going inside right now?!"

"if you want to die, Alan, please do it, but since the responsibility would fall on me, please do not"

"Alan has the intelligence of a goblin after all"

"I heard that!"

One of the other boys said to Alan making the group erupt in laughter, looking at Lisa beside me, she had chuckles, thankfully, she seemed to have relaxed a bit after arriving in this place, I'm glad she's alright.

"Now, now, we are going inside the dungeon center, please do not touch anything, and don't bother any of the adventurers, this is a real workspace"

Walking inside, this is like a mall inside a giant mall, restaurants, stores, and many facilities were available inside.

"Ruby look all those adventurers"

"what are they doing?"

What Lisa pointed out was the crowds of adventurers waiting in lines, there were a lot of receptionists at the table, and it was separated by section, each section had a sign on it, wood, copper, and iron.

"Hm? Oh that was the receptionist guild, it was used to sell the material and monster cores that they have, it was also used for consultation and a place to find information"

Alan explained, he's quite knowledgeable on this matter.

"but there are only three sections in here?"

Hearing my question, the teacher chuckles.

"higher rank adventurers didn't need to huddle together with crowds of newbies and low rankers, they have their own lobby on different floors, and their places were more exclusive and luxurious than this, that's where you step into the realm of high-ranker"

So the silver rank and higher get special treatment? It must be nice.

"teacher, did adamantite rank adventurers also there?"

I asked.

There are only 100 or so adamantite in the world, it's would be amazing to be able to see them up close, even if they only pass by.

"haha, adamantite? Most of them own their own building, or live in a mansion, when you get that high of a position, people would come to you not otherwise, listen here kids, if you managed to become a gold ranker one day, you basically free to do whatever you wanted"

"eeh! teacher, isn't it a bad thing to teach to your students!"

Alan protested.

"I just told you the reality, since you all going to graduate to the real world soon, it's better to accept it now, so you wouldn't get screwed over"

That's true, after all, not all adventurers, even the high rankers were a law abiding citizen, some were involved in criminal and bad behavior because of their influence and money, they had the power to back it up, it was really hard to fight a high ranking adventurer if you got a case against them, so better to avoid it as best as you can.

"excuse me-"

The teacher talked to one of the receptionists in the lobby who was different from the receptionists that serve the adventurers, and then we went into a backdoor, inside was a hallway and rooms on the left and right.

"Now we are going to go into the briefing room to meet your guides, they will guide you as you venture inside the dungeon, please be respectful to them"

Arriving in one of the briefing rooms with tables and chairs, we are waiting for our guides.

"Lisa, are you okay?"

"I have relaxed a little, it's not as scary as I thought"

"isn't it! This place was more lively than I thought!"

Happily chatting with Lisa, I couldn't wait to see inside the dungeon, there are countless videos and television programs that show the inside scenery of dungeons, however watching it in the news and seeing it with your own eyes was a completely different experience.

"Oi! We have 10 unique job class Students in our classroom!"

"What?!"

"don't listen to him, he lied!"

"there is no way"

Looking at Alan and the other boys in the class, they are taunting students from another classroom who just arrived in the hallway.

"I hope you all didn't accidentally brought back goblins and mistake them for your classmates!! Since you all look like one!"

"Quick! Close the door!"

"open the door! You bastard!"

"you guys can eat your snack if you want by the way, I'm going to check our schedules with the dungeon guild"

Said the teacher, who walked out of the room.

"Oi Alan, Flynn, open the door"

"We can't sir! There is goblins outside!"

......I hope they didn't put our evaluation down.
