Today is the first day of the month of May, and it is also going to be the first birthday of my cute little boy, Gabriel. As of now, I am in town to do some preparation for the birthday party at the end of May. Mostly, it is just preparation for the very first gift for Gabriel that me and my husband Riel decided to be after asking him what he wanted.
It always occurred to me that it is so odd how we celebrate one’s birthday.
First, we wait until that person is at the age of three before we start to celebrate his or her birthday. But not only are we going to celebrate his or her birthday at the age of three, we also need to celebrate the birthday at the end of the month on which he or she was born, and then after that person reaches the age of adulthood, we start to celebrate his or her birthday at the exact date and exact month when he or she was born.
Well, whatever, it's probably a tradition or something.
Anyway, we asked Gabriel what he wanted, and he replied with a wooden stick and a big grin on his cute little face, but that answer made me and Riel ponder what it meant. I suggested that it meant something else rather than just a wooden stick that you can find lying around in the forest. Riel agreed; after all, we won’t want to give him something like that on his first birthday, and we also know that Gabriel is our smart little boy; after all, he can read at a very young age. He probably wants us to give him something simple for his birthday, but that won’t do; we want to give him something memorable or something that he can use for the rest of his life.
Me and Riel racked our brains for a long time. Days went by, and after everything that we came up with, we decided on two items that we could gift to Gabriel.
One is a wooden wand, which is what I suggested; after all, a wooden wand can also be recognized as a wooden stick. The second one is a wooden sword, which Riel suggested. which I complain that it is nothing similar to a wooden stick and said that a wooden wand is the most logical choice that we can pick after all it’s the exact same as a wooden stick, but he counterpointed me with a wooden stick can be used to mimic a sword which children often do, which I replied to by saying I notice Gabriel seems to be interested in magic for whenever I use magic his eyes seem to light up, but I am not entirely sure.
I see Riel sweating a bit, but then he said Gabriel has never used magic before, so the best thing is a sword, which he can use at any time. I then argued that I could teach him magic if he wanted to use a wooden wand, and then Riel said something that left me no choice but to accept his suggestion. It's something that we promised a long time ago: if our first child is a boy, Riel will teach him swordsmanship; if it’s a girl, I will teach her magic; and our next child can be taught by whoever hasn’t taught our first child. Damn, he got me real good for bringing out that promise.
After accepting Riel's idiotic suggestion, we now talk about how we will make that stupid wooden sword memorable or if it can last long in the dump. That moron of a swine can’t think of anything to improve his garbage of an idea, so I, a venerable person like I am, brought forth a divine revelation to give him insight to improve his feeble idea. I really hate losing.
I suggested making a sword that has an enchantment to make it look like a wooden sword. Riel was in awe of my great thinking and immediately accepted my suggestion, but then he made a good point by saying what if Gabriel throws away or does not use the sword anymore when he becomes an adult if he thinks it’s just a wooden sword and now what he needs is a real sword.
I suggested that if he’s at the right age, the enchantment of the sword that made it look like a wooden sword will disappear. I also suggested to make the sword last longer. I said why not make it an ego sword as it can grow stronger as its owner, and to make it seem like a real wooden sword at first, it will awaken when Gabriel becomes at the right age to wield a real sword. Riel agreed, but he wonders how we can make that sword not only look like a wooden sword but like an ego sword. I replied, I just know the right person for that job; after all, she promised me she'd do anything I wanted from her.

So, because of all that happened, I am at the town under the pretext of buying essentials, but the real purpose is to meet the person who promised me she'd do anything; that person is Maria.
Why am I thinking all about that? I am getting sidetracked, and I’ve been walking aimlessly because I was lost in my thoughts.
Maybe I should send her a message that I am on my way to her place, but first I need to find a place where there are no people, like that ominous alleyway.
Why am I going to a place like this? You asked well, and of course it is to use magic that not many can use. After all, I used to be called a magic deity… Ah, such a cringe title. Now that I think of it, I remember that Riel was used to be called the sword king… Who the hell gave us such cringeworthy titles? Anyway, that’s all in the past now; we are now living our normal lives in this small village.
Oh, right, the message I am going to send it now. Wait, where is she again? How will I send my message if I don’t know the location of the person I am going to send it to? Oh, right, I can use that magic. I cleared my mind and then released my mana to call upon the surrounding spirits.
I can feel the spirits gathering before me. With that, I opened my mouth and let out.
“World Search”
Found her; she seems to be chilling in her bath, in her mansion. This magic is really the best way to find anything you want anywhere in the world, and it also shows its surroundings.
It was time to send her a message. I just need to think about what I want to send and say the long chant. Wait, I don’t really need to chant; I just need to say what magic I want to use, unlike others. I just need to think I am coming for you, Maria, “Mind Letter”.
She’ll receive it immediately.
Now that I know Maria’s location, I will now begin my journey. As I started to walk towards the location, thoughts came to my mind.
If I am not mistaken, the distance between where I am now and where Maria is so far apart that it definitely takes me a week or so, even with the help of transportation.
I have to think about how will I use my funds carefully. After all, it’s going to be a long journey ahead. I might even camp in the middle of the forest, and there will be many cities ahead that I’ll need to stay in so I won’t have to sleep outside, which means even more cost to deal with. The daily essentials I'll be needing while going on that long journey and after reaching my destination, I need to do all the things that I've been doing till I get back to my home…
I stop walking after realizing how much time and money it’ll take I look behind myself to look at how much distance I’ve acquired just to be shown that I just got out of the alleyway, I’ve been lost in thoughts that I didn’t realize how little distance I accumulated since I started walking.
I realize how much distance my destination is and how slow my walking speed is. It won’t even take me a week to get to my destination; it might even take up to a month or so, which means even more time and money will be needed. Also, my feet are killing me; probably this is from when I was walking aimlessly at first.
Yup, Ima just teleport to her place.
Time to teleport to her front door. But if I teleport now, she won’t be ready. She probably needs to prepare herself after all, since she was in the bath before I sent the message, but you know what? I don’t care, so I won’t give her time to prepare. After all, I won’t be long, probably.
