Heated Battle At The D-Ranked Gate

"The entire town is overrun..." Sword Hero Morningster voiced with a frown as he noticed more of the creatures.

"Save the town folks right away... I'll create a path forward and make my way to the boss," Sword Hero Morningster yelled before charging forward.

Fwwwhiiisshhh~

His figure was very fast as he crossed a distance of nearly two hundred feet in an instant.

The others quickly followed behind, heading towards the town. They were not as quick as the Sword Hero but it didn't matter at the moment.

They had been given an objective to help the town folk.

Morningster pulled his sword out of its sheathe and began sending masterful strokes at the beasts in the vicinity.

Slash! Slash!

Red lines swept forward and one of the creatures that was chasing down a group of five was instantly sliced to pieces.

Blood and chunks of body parts splattered across the faces of the group, causing a few of them to retch in disgust.

Morningster didn't stop there. He charged into the heart of the town while swinging his sword forward multiple times.

He decapitated beasts that were more than ten feet large with ease, painting the streets of the town red.

Sword Hero Morningster paused as he noticed the pile of corpses in multiple areas of the town, torn down houses and some burning areas.

"These vile creatures!" He instantly got incensed as he realized they had gotten there too late.

Almost all of the town folks had been murdered already. Only a few were still alive.

Sword Hero Morningster immediately went on a killing spree as his red blade glowed even brighter in accordance with his blistering rage.

The others behind tried to get the surviving town folks to safety as they dealt with the beasts still in the vicinity.

After some time they noticed sword Hero Morningster was gone and looked towards the horizon.

A mountainous area could be spotted up ahead with long grassy paths in between. These paths were filled with incoming beasts and the other four could tell that Sword Hero Morningster must have headed in the direction of the gate to fight the boss.

They quickly hurried along after dealing with the beasts in the town.

They needed to clear the path to make sure the survivors were not followed while trying to catch up to the Sword Hero.

....

....

....

Bang! Bam! Bam!

"A scorpiosorous army?! As if our day couldn't get any worse!"

The loud sound of battles rang out as a group of four battled an army of dangerous-looking creatures approaching from up ahead.

Skewered corpses littered the place but every single one of them looked like abominable beasts.

The incoming creatures looked like a mixture of scorpion and man. Only that they were ten feet in size, charred black with a dark green pointy tail.

"This is getting troublesome,"

One out of the group of four in dark and yellow armor held a large spear up as though it was a Javelin and flung it forward it immense strength.

Thwwwooohhhhh~

The spear ripped forward with so much sheer intensity that one could see the wind getting pierced through.

Puchii~ Puchii~ Puchii~ Puchii~ Puchii~

Up to eight of these man-scorpion beasts were impaled by the large spear as it tore through some of them.

Up ahead, a line had been cleared as two other Scorpiosorous slammed into a massive boulder with the spear embedded into their skulls.

"We need to make our way to Sword Hero Morningster!" The other figure in the same armor as the man with the spear pulled the string of a large bow in his grasp while speaking.

The five arrows he placed on the strings emitted a bright yellow light at their tips as he fired them in the direction of the scorpiosorous army.

More of them came crashing down, littering the place with even more blood and corpses.

The brown-skinned bald man in their midst swirled his fingers which illuminated the surroundings with a green glow.

Magic circles appeared across the place and three one-eyed giants with massive clubs phased out of the circles.

"Sir Bright behind you!" One of the twins yelled.

Rrriiih~

A scorpiosorous had leaped towards him from his blind spot and now the tail was only a few inches away from piercing into his back.

"Blessings Of Protection!"

A sharp feminine voice rang out.

Twwhiii~ Bam!

A blueish transparent wall suddenly appeared behind Bright, preventing the venomous tail of the scorpiosorous from going any further.

By the side was a red-haired young lass who had a blue glowing book floating before her. She made some hand gestures, causing all the rocks in the vicinity to float upwards.

Upon sweeping her fingers forward, the rocks shot towards the incoming creatures at very quick speed.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

More than ten of them had their skulls split open while a couple more sustained very heavy damage.

"There are too many of them," Bright yelled as one of his giants flattened another one of them with its club.

It looked like they were prevaling but they very well knew that this wasn't the case.

The number of scorpiosorous in the surroundings had tripled in just a few seconds.

Bright knew that if things were to continue that way, they would eventually run out of mana.

They stared at the massive purple-colored swirling light above a mountain in the northwest direction.

It was the reason for their current situation.

'If they are this many, it means that the boss of the gate must be very powerful. We must make our way to the hero immediately or they will keep coming,' Bright thoughts were pretty much similar to the others who stared at each other in understanding.

While they fought to create a path, they had left a member of their party behind. Things had gotten so hectic that they didn't remember Ingal in this horrifying predicament.

The group managed to make their way further up the mountain side but the number of the creatures had increased significantly. Princess Valerie already had a few bruises on her cheeks and shoulder.

They were starting to run out of mana and yet they still hadn't made their way to Sword Hero Morningster.

Bang! Bam! Boom!

However, the sound of power clashes ringing across the air told them that the peak of the mountain wasn't too far away.

With the blasts from a powerful battle ongoing up ahead sending shockwaves across the air, they confirmed that whoever the Sword Hero was facing was incredibly strong.

If the boss didn't get killed soon, they would get overwhelmed by the number of creatures around and eventually meet their end.

"You two, head forward. We'll try to keep things under control here," Ekiel Devonne said to his brother and the princess.

"Are you crazy brother? I can't leave you and Bright here to handle things on your own," Ezrel Devonne yelled while stabbing his spear into the throat of another beast and lifting them into the air.

Fwwhiii~

He flung it in his brother's direction, who proceeded to duck, causing the beast to slam into another scorpiosorous behind.

Bang!

"He is right. I can get you two to where the Sword Hero is. We will never get out of this if the boss isn't taken down. I don't want to die since I still have so many beautiful women to fuck," Bright shouted while giving a command to one of his giants.

"But..." Before Ezrel could form a sentence, Valerie grabbed him by the arm and charged in the direction of one of the giants.

The giant proceeded to lift them and hurl them forward with great force.

Fwwwhooommm~

Their bodies traveled across the air with immense speed, flying over the army of beast below that had covered the entire vicinity.

The moment Princess Valerie realized that they were losing momentum, her grimoire opened up before her.

"Blessings Of Nature... Wind Drive!" Her voice rang out loudly despite the calmness of her tone.

Vwwooooo~

A burst of wind pushed them further ahead and the massive purple swirling light could now be spotted more boldly in their line of sight.

Ezrel's mouth hung agape as his vision narrowed on an area close to the swirling purple light.

Thrrriihhhh~ Thrrriihhh~

Two figures were in a heated battle. Due to their level of strength and speed, they looked like two streaks of purple and grey lines as they clashed repeatedly.

"Over there!" Ezrel yelled.
