I am CAT
Till Death

Till Death

The cat, unsurprised by waking up in the corner of the laboratory, stood up and went and jumped straight to a nearby window. Outside was bathed in darkness, with some lights flickering out in the distance. Before escaping the building, the cat searched the area only to find that the person wearing a lab coat was nowhere to be found.

The cat roamed the town to try to find anything interesting happening. As it was roaming, it happened to have waltzed into a park.

Eventually, it stopped at a small cliff (if it could even be said that), that was pointed towards the moon rising. It stared towards the moon for a few minutes before being called back to reality by the sound of someone speaking.

“I…support…death…us…part…”

Curious, the cat left the cliff (?) to go towards the sound. Looking at the location from on top of a tree, it saw a two people. One was kneeling with one arm on their leg and holding a small box with the other. The other had their hands up to their mouth as if surprised and then looked away.

“I’m sorry.”

The person kneeling slowly got up and unsteadily walked away.

A moment later, the other person slowly fell to their knees, falling onto their hands. Within a matter of minutes, the person was throwing up a liquid from their mouth and glared at the person leaving before lying face down on the ground.

The cat jumped from the tree and walked up to that person and tapped them. It noticed that the person was not responding no matter how much it tapped them.

Following that, the cat left on the path the other person had walked away on.

It found the person with a small, burnt rolled up paper between their fingers of one hand and a black box in the other next to their ear.

“Cupid hit its mark. Don’t forget about the hiring fee.”

Following that, the person moved the box away from their ear, tapped it, and put it into their pocket. Then, unaware of a cat following them, walked away. While walking away, they put the paper into their mouth and both hands into their pockets.

The cat followed this person to a small underground bar where it was unable to enter as there were no holes or cracks in the walls or the door of the bar.

Feeling helpless, the cat walked away, back in the direction of the park.

Around 30 minutes later, a cat was seen staring at the moon from a small cliff (?) at the park.
