Others

Three more days passed and I'm still growing. Around the edge of my domain is populated with tons of flowers. All those plants reproduced and grew plenty of times so I grew as well to around 170 feet. My height, branches, and leaves grew as usual, but one thing changed; the vines. The bumps that were on the vine last time I saw it now had a golden bud sticking out. I'm looking forward to what sort of flower will grow from it.

The sapling with the gold leaf had also suddenly grown rapidly three days ago to 13 feet. Many things could be the cause of it, but I think the fact the elves started taking care of it was the cause. Why they take care of it is because Barbra had told them I was enduring a "trial". Well, it was sort of something like that, but I was over it already, she just couldn't find the right time to tell the elves I was over it... I wouldn't either because they found out the same day I had gotten over it so it'd be too sudden. Honestly, I wouldn't have let them continue caring for that sapling if I did not decide it was not the one I met. There is no more regret for killing the stalk since once my mind was clear, it probably had done the same to others... his personality was bad too.

Anyways, I was just enjoying my time with wood carving when I heard the sounds of flapping wings. I turned my view towards the sounds and saw my body and... birds? This is new; never thought birds would pass by. Looking at them flying down, I realized that they were still far away and I could hear their flapping. I moved my vision over to where they were landing; on me. Getting closer, I saw that they weren't exactly birds, but humanoid figures with wings... The wings had plenty of feathers that were red with a small end of white. Their legs were covered up in brown cloth and feet in black boots. There were leather pouches, this time it held its shape in a rectangle with a flap on the top. Holding the flap down was a button attached to it and one on the main pouch tied with string. The skin color was a tan just like the elves, I wonder if they were out here for a long time too. Faces were... normal, not bird-like, there were no special qualities about their facial features so I guess the wings are a trademark. Looking around my body, one of them spoke up...

"Our tribe shall claim this tree as our home!"

I'm alive you know! Thinking that, another bird man asked him a question.

"What of the inhabitants living on the land?"

Good question... let's see how this goes. The man who spoke of claiming me gave an answer...

"Let us inform them of ou-"

"Get off the divine tree!"

All the winged people turned towards the voice, I did too. There I saw a Stanford with his face distorted by anger. Other elves who heard his shouting came over to see what had happened, upon seeing the bird men on me, their faces had also distorted. They had started shouting at them...

"Get off our savior!"

"Show respect to the divine tree!"

The bird men didn't seem to want trouble when they saw that scene so the first bird man who spoke gave a signal to the others. On that signal, all of them descended me slowly gliding to the ground with their wings spread out. Looking at them, they were quite calm. Looking at the elves, they were all still grumpy. Seeing this, the first... the leader-like bird man approached Stanford stopping a few feet in front of him and spoke.

"I do not know what we had done to offend you, but we will be claiming this tree as our home."

Calm to people who shouted at you suddenly, respectable but...

"Claim the divine tree?! It belongs to no one!"

Astonishment was on the leader bird man's face when he was shouted to by Stanford. Ah... they don't know what happens around here. Clearing his throat, the leader bird man had questioned him...

"This tree is obviously amazing, but why do you call it divine?"

"Because its the divine tree!"

Are there no other words to describe me? Stanford snapped back to the bird man leader who was starting to be annoyed. The situation seems to be getting out of hand... time to call the emergency force.

◄Barbra.►

[Yes yes, I was watching them too.]

◄That makes things easier, go out there and I'll help you with what you have to say.►

[Okay master.]

The leader bird man who had just got annoyed shouted to Stanford.

"The only thing special about this tree is its si-!"

Before he could finish his sentence, he saw his shadow inside of a white light. Everyone in the area saw the light, except the elves bowed down immediately unlike the bird men who stood up. Wary of the light, the leader bird man with his group took a few steps back. The light was naturally Barbra who formed into a fairy of about one foot tall this time. Speechless, the bird men could only stare, but the elves were familiar with it so they knew what to do.

""Greetings to the divine guardian!""

The elves had spoken in unison. Barbra had been going to them very frequently giving messages so they've gotten quite used to this. Well, I also gave them messages sometimes so they won't believe me too blindly. Stanford has been incorporating changes very slowly into the daily tradition so they will still have unshakeable trust in me, but that would only be for protection and land, they would have to make their lives themselves instead of me controlling it. Barbra with light magic making her glow then gave the message to them.

"Hello once again everyone, I've come on the behalf of master to stop your fighting... master does not wish to see these quarrels."

""We ask for forgiveness!""

"Master will forgive."

They were forgiven quickly. Even I wouldn't be able to keep calm when a bunch of people stood on top of the thing that saved my life. I focused my view on the bird men and saw that they were watching quietly. Barbra turned towards them when I told her through telepathy.

"Welcome new visitors, although you have stood on master, master does not mind if you stay here as long as you don't cause trouble."

Talking to each other, the leader goes back and discusses with them. This leader doesn't seem to be like Stanford who can make most of the decisions by himself. After finishing their talk, the leader bird man goes forward and speaks.

"I promise we won't cause trouble, but I still wish to live on the... divine tree's branches."

On his words, the elves twitched, but they didn't dare to yell and fight while Barbra was present. It was also because she told them I did not wish to see a fight. Having this much influence is good to keep peace... let it stay the same. Calmly, Barbra gives them a reply.

"Master will not allow it, but you and your people can live on the trees circling master."

Thinking for a while, the leader bird man nodded in agreement.

"...Very well, we will respect your rules."

A while after those words were said, Stanford and the leader bird man gave self-introductions. Stanford and the elves calmed down from earlier since Barbra asked them not to be angered. The leader bird man's name was Brian of the sky tribe... it doesn't seem to be named after their species name, guess I'll just call them bird men for now. Stanford introduced his tribe... as the saplings, I wonder if he will somehow convert them... After that was done, they mingled together talking about things, all of them seriously had no trace of their previous resentment. The bird men were confused by this, but things proceeded smoothly.

When it was over, the elves went back to their work. Heading towards the trees, the bird men were setting up their camp giving a reluctant stare at my body. What's strange was that they were setting up beds on the ground; I thought they were going to live on the trees. They are smaller than me, but one of their big branches should be enough for one person. Deciding to ignore that, my domain gained 45 more people, adding that up, I now support a population of 87. I hope everyone gets along.
