Chapter 6

The past two days were mostly uneventful. Well uneventful of adventure for both sisters [MC] was being led by. They did run into a small group of bandits. They were no match for the likes of the sisters. [MC] was startled to see the bandits. Then he remembered he wasn’t in Kansas anymore so anything could happen.

They finally made it the mining town near dark. It was completely deserted. “Something is off here. Where is the last group that was sent to watch over this place?” Jana looked at her sister with concern. Clara just huffed with annoyance. If a debter wanted to pick the quest it was there right. She was a little nervous too. Although the adventurers that were sent were between novice and rank F. She was just hoping they weren’t dealing with something powerful. She shuddered to run into a rank A monster of all things.

Clara decided to use her detection skill to maximum use. She was alarmed something was hiding in a nearby building she hadn’t picked up earlier. Clara alerted both her sister and [MC] that something was hiding in a building nearby. Before she got up and went to check out the situation. [MC] spoke up.

“Wait, I know who that is. That is my summon she was just following me from in the shadows.”

The two both turned to him looking at him suspiciously. Before Clara could ask more Jana jumped [MC] faster than he could react.

“What the..” Was all he said before being pinned to the ground with excess force.

Jana had her blade at his throat. “You are the one who has been making everyone disappear.”

Clara was dumbstruck by her sister’s actions she ran to try to pull her off before both of them were hit by Morgan. She blasted out of her hiding spot with blistering speed sending both sisters crashing into a nearby building. Clara was able to gain control while Jana ended up crashing through another building before stopping.

This time it was Clara who responded in anger. She ran past Morgan as she dashed for [MC].

Morgan was fast to intercept her as she grabbed Clara by the wrist. “You will not hurt my master.” She said as she grabbed her other hand on Clara’s other wrist and began to squeeze breaking her hands. Clara screamed out in pain.

[MC] had just stood back up in shock at the whole ordeal before the girl’s scream snapped him out of it. “Morgan what are doing. They are here to help me.” Morgan stopped but still had a tight grip on Clara.

“Morgan can you please put her down? I want to explain everything before this gets more out of hand.”

Clara just nodded as she looked at [MC]. Morgan than released the girl.

[MC] sighed as he pinched his nose. “Can you please heal her. You know my skills are lacking.”

Morgan groaned in frustration as she healed the wounded wolf girl. [MC] wanted to go check on Jana. Clara spoke up before he could go. “Don’t bother going to her. She will try to kill you. I’ll have to talk to her first.”

Morgan finished healing Clara. Clara soon went to her unconscious sister with Morgan. “Nothing seems to be broken. She just seems to have minor bruising and just knocked out.” Morgan said as she did a quick assessment.

Jana was woken by her sister. Jana tried to lash out again before Clara told her to just stop. Jana glared daggers at Morgan. “I only attacked because I was protecting master.” Morgan responded to the girls murderous look.

[MC] ended up telling the two his tale. The girls were baffled that he had come from some other world. “That’s the truth. Besides why would I want to deceive you when I am wearing this thing.” [MC] pointed to the bracelet that reminded him of a big debt.

Clara nodded in agreement where Jana was still skeptical. With miscommunication out of the way. The four of them went around the mining site to find anything out of the ordinary. Everything was untouched except for the recent fight that had damaged three buildings. The four eventually met back.

“This doesn’t add up. I can’t find any signs of a struggle. The only odd thing I found was all the provisions of food was missing.” Clara said to the other three who made the same observations.

“We should do a wider search in the morning, for now I say we set up camp and set watch. I’ll take first watch with [MC]. Jana you and Morgan take the second watch after midnight.”

Morgan told them she didn’t need sleep so she could watch over them all. Clara was hesitant because of her sister. She ended up deciding to take watch with [MC] so her sister wouldn’t kill him. Jana would take the watch with Morgan. Jana wanted to pout but Clara told her why.

The trio ate all in silence as the sun finally went down. The only one who didn’t eat was Morgan. The two sisters at first were baffled. Until [MC] told them she never needed to eat or drink. About thirty minutes passed as everyone got ready for their sleep or watch.

Clara’s and [MC’s] watch was uneventful as the night passed. Midngiht was soon approaching when [MC] got a weird feeling. Morgan also noticed it too. Clara was about to wake her sister when [MC] came over to her.

“I’m getting this weird uneasy feeling like someone is about to jump us.” [MC] said with a hushed worried tone.

Clara used her skills but didn’t pick up on anything. She wanted to just tell him it was his imagination before all of them were suddenly sucked away into a portal that appeared from the sky. The weird thing about the portal though. It was only pulling at the four of them. Everything else wasn’t being disturbed. The dust and plants remained unchanged as the unknown force pulled on the group.

Jana was woken up fast as she screamed. [MC] went to grab her as she was about to be sucked in. He was then pulled. Clara and Morgan both grabbed onto him.

[MC] remembered about his cheater skill. Unfortunately, he couldn’t enter the Konami code as he had both his hands full with a screaming Jana. Clara began to lose her grip on [MC]. Morgan had to hold onto everyone. The void soon got more powerful. The suction eventually became too great as Morgan was sucked away into the void. It soon closed up leaving behind the empty campsite that somehow decided to fix itself. Nothing was out of place as the hole closed beyond the rift.
