My life, pointless and miserable, ended at sunrise. The people of this world took me from my own and hoisted their expectations on me as someone summoned through a holy ritual. Was I supposed to be special? At least in my eyes, I never gained anything of particular worth. Ignore my title. Does my gaze appear like someone content with his lot? I could never live beyond the confines of what was desired of me. Yet still, I cannot bring myself to hate them. At the end of the world, I sought only to save lives. Protect the ones who first thrust me into hell. Was I a fool? A bit, I'm sure. But I don't regret it. The smiles I saw on their faces every day, they were the sole source of warmth in my life. Dying, only to live again. Cruel fate, you thrust knowledge of the past into my heart, forcing my hand. Leaving the hard parts just out of sight, you prompt my desire to protect. So I'll protect. No matter what it costs, I'll run with your cruel joke. I don't want to see everything crumble around me again. (I don't know much about writing or anything, I just want to do it for fun, so I'm sorry if this isn't very good.)
