Chapter 249: Completely Normal Main Character Thoughts

"Master Wang. Why does it hurt so much when you hit me? My resistances do nothing against you? They don't even grow when you hit me."

"As an expert on anatomy, all bodies are the same. Rats and Dragons, Orcs or Elves, their flesh and bones burst similarly under my grip. That is the power of the [Broken Fist] and where my namesake comes from, if you recall my epitet."

"I see. But I wanted to train my resistance stats since It's one of the core foundations of my strength."

"And what exactly are your core foundations?"

The gleam in Master Wang's eyes tells me that this is a trap. If I don't answer carefully, I might get thrashed again.

"I am a tamer. My beasts are one of my foundations, but regardless of class, my body isn't something I disregard. Whether it be resistance stats or my martial training. I push my body further and further to gain resistances. With this, I can continue to push my body into a positive feedback loop of strength."

Since I don't get scolded or informed that I'm wrong, I assume my answer was good enough. Master Wang finally lets me go home. For the last week, Master Wang has been teaching me how to properly train while having this much strength in my body since, apparently, I didn't adapt my training methods to my new level or something along those lines.

I don't see how this was my fault, but I don't mention that tidbit as I leave his estate.

However, something I've been contemplating revolves around the fight I had with Master Wang. He said a while ago that, except for the members of the First Party, he can probably kill any other person.

I have the methods to "win" against Master Wang. It's my less than a year of combat experience weighing me down. It's nothing compared to Master Wang, who is roughly two centuries old and had a child in the latter half of the second century. I'm not saying that it wasn't my fault... or I'm trying to cope with my loss. It's more of a testament to "How strong I am."

If I wanted to do something, who could stop me? The relics from the past, the generation from more difficult times? Yeah, maybe. But that won't be forever. I started my journey on my 18th birthday. I became the peak of my generation, while 18. I became level 500, while 18. I grew 5 beasts to level 300, all unique species that can hold their own against stronger foes.

My growth rate has only been limited by choke-holds the system puts out, requiring me to do side quests.

Maybe I should start being more belligerent. Free Chains might not be a good influence since I keep doing this via the law. More than once, people spit down at me - the Kens and the FIB - and instead of dishing out karmic justice, we sued and hid behind documents.

It's not bad doing this via the law. And as soon as I become king, my word will become law. I find it strange that "Might makes right" isn't a complete truth in this world. Or is the law stronger than fists? So naturally, it makes it the mightiest?

The country might not need a king, and I'm not ignorant that my thought process isn't the same as the average person, so I might not be the best fit for the position even if this country was a monarchy. But my birthright dictates that I must rule these lands.

I need to become stronger than the law. Not for revenge or a need to grow stronger, but because I soon will become it. It will be necessary for me to have the capabilities of a tyrant before I become king. But if I can be an oxymoron like my grandfather, a tyrant for the people, is to be seen.

If people are to accept me as their leader, then I need to do more for this country than the current administration. Maintaining the status quo is good, excellent even, but If I'm not strong enough to push humanity into a brighter future, I might as well pretend my birthright doesn't exist. And that's not something I'm willing to do.

I am a tamer. A [Monarch Master], to be more specific. Only rulers can come under my skill, my banner, so to speak. Not any rulers, but ones that are unique in some capacity. Although it's funny seeing Flash Gordon as a landlord and gaming the system, I should really start playing the role of my class. My class advancement is [Imperial Monarch Master], which implies that I could have 5 actual rulers while not being the ruler of a nation before the advancement.

I don't need to strengthen my body, not any more than it will naturally grow. My body was never my original power, as strange as that sounds. Rob has his undead kingdom, which pays taxes to my guild, and Duchess and Khan have some lineage thing going on, making them 'rulers.' But without subjects, land, etc, they are only technicalities, like Flash Gordon and Prometheus.

The Prime Territories wasn't built in a day. But it started somewhere.

The timeline to see the elves is a bit convoluted. All that is necessary to know is that we will touch ground in July, and we'll be back before September. It's currently March. That gives me the rest of March, then April, May, and June to prepare and prepare I shall.

We need to seriously up our guild roster because of the new fractures acquired from the FIB. Each fracture is a miniature world to maintain, or it might collapse. It's not simply a place you can raid periodically and forget about. A human hand is necessary to maintain a balanced ecosystem, which usually means purging creatures and harvesting resources periodically in a controlled manner.

We need 'Raid Teams' to go into fractures and balance the ecosystem and 'Support Teams' who do literally everything else, not to mention the other aspects of the guild like lawyers, craftsmen, etc.

So, we did a massive hiring push. Hiring this many people at once opens us up to spies, but with Percy on my roster (The espionage guy who started the whole becoming King thing), my guild's anti-espionage is quite good. The people sending spies were rival guilds, potion companies, and things of that nature. However, If I got any reports of 'old friends' sending spies, my attitude toward this situation would change.

(I swear, the Stricklands will gun for me one day. I'm not hoping for retroactive justification for being too paranoid to even leave Master Wang's estate because of that family, no siree. It's just that I believe myself strong enough to survive against the biggest supplier of this country's military-industrial complex.)

But for the craftsman side of things, I have a plan. It involves going back to a fracture I've been to before. Due to a promise, I wasn't quite ready to go. I first need to artificially increase my taming cap, allowing me to tame more unique rulers. Although possible, I don't plan on taming any actual rulers from the races, like the president or a war chief, etc.

My [Court of Allegiance] skill is good enough for that. Instead, I should limit my taming skills to those outside the races. The races have a different system compared to creatures. They have class changes, not evolutions. The races also have a credit wallet, while the creatures do not. These aren't essential reasons. There are no fundamental reasons. It is just a preference. One I'm willing to overlook if the situation calls for it.

The races have more control over their stat acquisition, meaning they can hoard points and randomly surpass my [Spirit] stat all at once, breaking free of my skill.

I'm not concerned about that. It was just an observation I made.

An important activity I've been doing is paying a premium for any information about the elvish lands, and none of It was secondhand. Only people like Master Giles have been there.

Master Giles doesn't tell me much about that place, but from the carefully chosen words, I imagine it isn't as good as people make it out to be.

The strongest nation on the planet, even before their planet connected with ours. Isolationists with expansive histories and some of those historical figures are still around.

If they have an issue with a species, they can simply wait for that species to go extinct rather than wage war. They can do the same with mighty empires, as they have done in the past.

I know their sense of time is different. A decade for us is like a year to them. If your job has weekly meetings, theirs would be every 3-ish months instead.

Their calendar is convoluted, and there are rumors that the major cities have large magical machines that alter the day-night cycle in localized zones.

I never resonated with the reason behind the call. A celebration ordained by the high king. Additionally, a tournament would be held during the festivities. All the races will come to this event.

Although Isolationists, they "keep in touch" with the outside world. Why invite the races? Their natural lifespan is ten times that of humans, but the more powerful the elf, the higher that multiplier. They may go on vacation, and by the time they come back, the other races will die from natural causes.

Master Wang is one of the strongest people I know, same with Master Giles. They are from the same generation and are around 200 years old. The member of the First Party I met, the only member I met, seemed "young," but his specialization is in rejuvenating.

If an elf and a human were born simultaneously, the human would die of old age before the elf became an adult.

The only exceptions are Dwarves, who vocalize distaste for the Elves (and almost everyone else), and functionally different races, like the "Immortal" Vampire.

I wonder if I'm strong enough for my vampire "father-in-law" to support me. My opinion on vampires has soured because of him. Although, the potions made from my blood would sell like crazy in any vampire territory.

Tangent aside, either it's a petty flaunt that would be out of character from the information I gathered, or there is something they can't solve. Speaking of, I wonder what problem that nation can't solve? I wonder if their propagandists are that good or if there is a looming threat they cannot handle on their own.

My money is on the planet blowing up. Or this is the whims of a child.

I wonder how I fair against an Elf with a similar maturity? The generational destroying punch is an ultimate move, but that leaves me too vulnerable. Maybe I don't need to cycle my health twice… Yeah, that might make it more feasible in a tournament setting.

However, the best news I gathered was key sea locations on the way to the territories. Going by boat, even with the best technology and magic humans have (that the government can spare), it would take roughly two weeks to arrive there. I was sure the original route was slower, but to be fair, the date was pushed back, so maybe Big Brother managed to scrounge up more allowance during that time, or the weather's better this time of year.

The official course has one confirmed stop on the way, but that's irrelevant. It's just that the route we are taking will pass the "Storm Scorned Archipelago," a place where only the ballsiest of adventurers and seamen have sailed to these islands, even long before the Collision. Legends say that this is where the "Maiden of Storms" broke off an engagement, shredding her cheating fiancé with her divine might and chumming the waters with his remains. Sharks surround the turbulent seas. What was once a large island was blasted into an archipelago by winds and lightning.

There is a highly inappropriate sailor's adage about this place. Something something menstruation. Something something don't cheat before you get married. I wasn't paying attention to that part of the information.

I know that this place is what I have been waiting for, a place to evolve Khan. I just got to shirk all my responsibilities, buy a boat, and leave the country.
