How to [Not] Outcharm a Succubus 4

Riverpark spanned two large islands in the heart of the river. After crossing the bridge, we reached the beach and stopped not far from the water's edge.

The beach stretched out in a gentle curve of golden sand sparkling under the sun. Families set up their spots, children crafted sandcastles, teenagers blasted music. Not crowded, but a lively buzz permeated the air. A beach volleyball game nearby attracted an audience, with players skillfully diving and spiking. Across the water, the distant city on the high right bank drowning in greenery, provided a scenic backdrop.

Adeĺ hastily kicked off her sandals and darted towards the shoreline, soon returning with dripping legs and a radiant smile.

«How is the water?» I smirked at her.

«Wet!» she happily shared her nature observation.

We spread our towels beside the scooters on the sand, turning the spot into a cozy beach camp. Once settled, I quickly stripped to my bikini. Stas and Roman removed their shirts too, revealing their toned torsos. I had to nudge Adeĺ to shut her mouth and start changing. After some fumbling, Adeĺ also pulled off her top and shorts, the skimpy bikini framing her lithe yet busty form… Should've given her a less showy one… The boys' curious gazes followed her fixing her bra… Not that I cared, but Mom's warning about stealing the spotlight made me intervene.

«Mgm!… Alright, guys!» I clapped my hands. «Last one in the water buys ice crea…!»

The boys, perhaps knowing me too well, sprinted towards the river before I even finished my sentence. Adeĺ stood confused for a brief moment, turning her head, but then grasped the gist and raced after the boys with a gleeful squeal. «Ice cream!»

… Darkness!

I mentally cursed, watching Adeĺ swiftly close the gap between her and the boys. I realized it too late, demons (and witches, for that matter) are stronger than humans. So rather than diverting attention from her, I had set her up to shine.

Determined to redeem my blunder, I ran after them. Just as Adeĺ was about to pass the boys nearing the water, I whispered a hex to boost my own speed even more. We reached the river at the same time and both leapt into it a heartbeat ahead of Stas and Roman.

The water was cool and pleasant after the sun's heat. As we surfaced, Adeĺ's joyful laughter filled the air. «We won!»

Roman and Stas surfaced moments later.

«Not fair! I'm sure she cheated somehow!» Roman complained, splashing water at me.

«Agreed,» Stas smirked, joining the splash war. «I can't recall ever winning any of her challenges.»

«O, please!» I taunted, using Adeĺ as a shield. «Try trying harder, losers!»

«Losers! Wa-a! Phe!…» Adeĺ echoed, just before we both got swept by a wave of the boys' retaliation.

As the splash war broke out, the boys primarily targeted me, with Adeĺ more of a giggly obstacle. After all, the race to the water had ensured Stas and Roman's focus remained on me, serving its purpose.

The battle ended in a truce, and Adeĺ demanded to jump into the water off the boys' interlocked hands. On their count, they would heave her upwards. Adeĺ would soar with a delighted shriek, before joyously splashing down into the water. I joined in, finding that by mirroring Adeĺ, I easily gathered just as much, if not more, attention.

After splashing around and diving to our hearts' content, we retreated to our spot on the beach to warm up. Jogging beside Adeĺ, I couldn't help feeling a little smug. I had devised a clever tactic to counter her spotlight stealing by simply mirroring her actions. Pure genius! I mentally gave myself a gold medal.

I was still smirking to myself, basking in my brilliance, when Adeĺ casually plopped down on the towel and… nonchalantly shed off her bikini bra, revealing her fair, round breasts to the world… I froze, jaw dropped, doubting my eyes as she sat there cross-legged, swaying to the beat of a nearby music with a jubilant grin.

… I… I… I can't possibly mirror this!… Or can I?… My cheeks heated at the thought. Mom said, Stas and Roman would be fine if I could keep up with Adeĺ, but… what if I couldn't?!

Glancing at the boys, their eyes, predictably, were locked on Adeĺ, entranced by the show. Not that they hadn't seen breasts before, but boys will be boys. They're programmed to stare. Adeĺ had their attention, and I had to act!

… But first, I had to calm down.

Thinking it through… for Riverpark, Adeĺ's revelation wasn't something unseen. The place was never short of topless girls – even from where I stood several were in sight. That must've inspired Adeĺ too… Yea, it's normal for the beach, right?… O-okay, a deep breath… Gods, give me strength…

Pretending it was nothing, I "carelessly" pulled the strap on my back and also removed my bra, while reasoning to myself, trying to calm my pounding heart. Objectively, Adeĺ's might possess more volume and lovely pink areolas, but mine stick out more, flaunting their soft peachy peaks. Plus, my eye-catching tan lines make them pop. Adeĺ won't beat me in drawing attention! I won't lose!

To my relief, the boys' attention really shifted back to me. Roman whistled, swatting away Stas's attempt to cover his eyes. «Wow… Am I dreaming?»

«You're not, my friend,» Stas put on a grave face. «But we've both definitely died and gone to Heaven.»

Adeĺ giggled. I rolled my eyes, suppressing a smile. «O-o, hush, you two! Where's our ice cream?»

«Many ice creams!» Adeĺ squeaked, hands thrown up.

«Damn…» Roman mumbled, feigning upset. «I hoped you've forgotten.»

To be continued…
