Chapter 13
Ragen went out of the cave and walked towards the river. He looked at the water and saw a young boy with slightly tan which was new. Another change was his body size. Before he started to evolve he was around 1.30m tall but now he was around 1.70m. That was quite the change in his body size. He thought status to see his stats.

The results of the training bore fruits and he was now three times stronger than before. When he was finished to observe his body and his status he went to his master. Bane greeted him and he sat in front of his master. He sat there for around an hour before his master opened his mouth. “My disciple, you have finally reached the first step of your long journey. But still, your training isn’t finished yet. In the next few years you will fight with different creatures to sharpen your senses and experience some real battles.” Ragen thought about the snake he had defeated and was inwardly excited to fight against more such creatures. “But before my dear disciple, you should visit your friends once and assure them of your health. We will start with the training in a week from now, so don’t be late. And a little advice from me. Acquire the skill [Mind Communication].” Ragen nodded and stood up. His master allowed him to go to the north and he would gladly follow his master’s advice.
The forest was calm as ever and Ragen enjoyed the fresh air from the forest. Now for him it was like a walk in the garden. He could crush most of the low monsters in the forest with his bare hands. With his new strength he started to gather more and more souls for the store. When he reached his goblin village, he had successfully bought the skill in the shop. He stopped in front of the door and saw the changes in the village. When he conquered the village, it had just some small walls which looked more like a fence. The height of that fence was around 6 feet but now it was around 9 feet. The gatekeeper who prostrated before him had also changed. He now wore something like a chain mail and his spear was made out of iron. When the gate was open, and he could enter some nice wooden lodges entered his view. In the middle of the village was a stone statue located. The only thing which was entirely out of stone. When he walked towards the statue a lot of goblin started to come out and bowed down in front of him. In front of the statue he stopped. The statue showed a warrior with a bow who aimed at a point far away. He instantly knew, that this statue showed his old self.

A sound from behind attracted his attention. His first commander and two guards came to him and bowed down. “Welcome my lord. I hope you had a pleasant journey.” Ragen looked intensely at his subordinate. He saw with [Appraisal] that his underling had improved quite a bit. Before he had conquered this village Unoreth was around level 4 but now he was level 7 and he had new skill. One of them was the [Leader] skill. “Your majesty I know you perhaps dislike the statue, but the people wanted it like this. I had no other choice.” Rag replied: “If the other want it then let it be. Now more important how are the thing over here?” Unoreth got up and answered: “The settlement is growing, and we have a lot more followers. There are around 400 goblins now under your command. Not everyone is a warrior, but they are ready to contribute everything for you. We also have successfully scouted the area in a radius from 20 miles. We have found some smaller settlements, villages and an orc fortress. Right now, we don’t have any problems, but we are bit short on food.” Ragen looked at his surroundings. Indeed, the village underwent quite the growth, but he didn’t think that around 400 goblins would swear their loyalty to him. He turned around and faced Unoreth. “About the food, I have a solution for that. We will start to cultivate the land around this village, and we start with stock farming. The big difference between humans and goblins is the difference in agriculture but now that will change. Now I will explain it in detail. You first…” Unoreth watched how his master explained the cultivating process to him and the now gathering goblins. He felt a large amount of excitement in his heart. They would reach the same stage as humans! “….Like I told you before that was the basic things about agriculture. Now leave and start to cultivate the lands.” The goblins dispersed in all directions and started to gather tools for cultivation. He turned to Unoreth and said: “I have another thing for you. Take this scroll it contains the skill [Mind Communication] with this skill we will be able to stay in contact during my absent time. Now show me where the headquarter is.” Unoreth took the scroll and guided his lord to a building which was on the north side of the village. It had only one big room inside it. In the room was a large table on which a map was placed with some red markers. The red markers stood for the villages and there was even a green marker. He guessed it was the orc fortress. He looked at the map and said to Unoreth: “Unoreth we need to become stronger. I have a smiting skill role and a formula for swords, shields and armour, but we don’t have enough iron. Do you have an idea how we could gather some iron?” Unoreth thought a moment and then replied with excitement: “Just yesterday we had some newcomers from the mountains. They have the skill [Metal Detection] I think that should help a lot.” Ragen was surprised that his commander had found a solution for his problem. With a smile he answered: “Good, gather some of them and distribute them into different groups. Send them into the mountain, in areas without much danger and let them dig for some iron.” His commander nodded and ran out of the house to find the goblins. Ragen observed the room again and found a small chair in one of the corners of the room. He sat down and started to sleep. He needed a bit of rest, he was still not a demon.
Meanwhile the goblins gathered and started the digging. Other goblins started to collect wood for the processing of the metal. When Ragen woke up and went out of the house he saw how a lot of goblins started to process the materials. Soon there would be enough iron for weapons and armour. He saw how Unoreth approached him and then said to him: “I hope your majesty had a good rest?” Ragen nodded and said ”Yes I had and now follow me we have some things to discuss.” Unoreth followed his master into the house and they started to plan. Ragen knew that the goblins right now could defend themselves, so he took his undead underlings with him. His necromancy needed to improve. He had found out that the creatures just needed magic to be summoned but they needed no magic to stay in this world. That was very convenient. While he was thinking on how to improve his necromancy skill, Unoreth started to ask him: “What about the other villages?” Ragen looked up and then replied with an evil grin: “Conquer them all. One by one and if there is any resistance then don’t show any mercy. About the orc fortress. We have to wait I need a clearer picture on those orcs and their defence. And improve with all means our military strength.” Unoreth nodded and then responded: “That will be a piece of cake.” Ragen laughed and then told him to be always wary of the opponent. He also told him, that his commander now had to report him every three days about the situation of their forces. If any emergency should occur, he should tell him immediately. After the short discussion he left the building and the village. He had to improve his [Necromancy] skill until his return.
Ragen and his undead followers entered the forest. They slaughtered every monster and creature they encountered. The most work did his giant undead snake. The undead goblins were more like cannon fodder for the monsters. Ragen himself noticed another important thing. The creatures his underlings killed turned into experience for him and he could level up with their help. That was a pleasant surprise.
His skill started to improve slowly. When they had butchered over a hundred creature, he finally saw that his skill evolved from novice to apprentice. He could now summon higher undeads.
