Taking a look around, I noticed that I was currently floating above a planet. I could see the continents, the seas and titanic mountains piercing the skies. Naturally, I already knew everything there is to know about this planet, which is somewhat disappointing. Learning has always been one of my greatest pleasures after all.
But, I will have to be satisfied with what I have. Which is everything, of course. I don't really know what to do once I get there, in a sense. I could stop some cults, free slaves, conquer kingdoms, rule the world, kill everyone, save everyone, build the greatest of monuments, start a religion, become the best at something... None of this appaled to me.
It is actually pretty depressing, considering I can literally do anything. Since I have everything, there is simply nothing I really want. Actually, there is one thing I want. Fun.
Well, for starters, a good idea would be to get myself a nice little house. I disappeared from my spot and reappeared above a giant mountain. Fun fact, this mountain is actually the largest one on the planet and is home to many powerful creatures.
Smiling, the darkness from my left side began to creep out and cover my right side. As soon as my whole body turned demonic, except my golden right eye, the dark, frothing mass shot out like a tidal wave and engulfed the whole mountain like a hungry slime.
After a couple seconds, it retracted back into me and abandoned my right side, returning to it's rightful place. The mountain had now turned into a giant, single spike shooting even higher then it previously was.
I pointed my right hand at it and an all-consuming light shot out from my pointer finger. When it ended, the mountain had now turned into something resembling a giant, dark spike piercing the heavens. Inside though, I know that it was more beautiful then the best of palaces in the universe.
Smiling, a giant gate appeared at the bottom of the spike. Naturally, it was half-demonic and half-angelic. Statues of demons and angels appeared all around it, looking like guardians.
I teleported inside the highest room in the spike, which was a beautiful bedroom filled with all sorts of wonders. Coincidintally, it was exactly like my old room back when I was still Max. I gleefully jumped on my bed and picked up my favourite plushie from when I was still a kid, hugging it to my chest.
After a couple minutes of cuddling, I simply willed a giant magic/mechanic/runic system to administer my palace. Immediately, a voice resounded in my head.
"Greetings, Your Majesty", it said. I beamed a wonderful smile and answered back "Hello, System. Do you want anything to be upgraded?"
The System stilled for a second, considering what to answer. I had given it full consciousness and emotions, as well as absolute loyalty. Well, he would never dare rebel even without it due to it knowing better, but it is better this way.
"Your Majesty, the upper part of the tower is perfect, but the lower part encours risk if adventurers or beasts invade. The stone guards are strong, but they are low in numbers. I raccomend placing better defensive mechanisms."
"Wonderful. Do you mind doing it? I want to relax for a year or two and let the world discover my appearance. I should have given you enough mana to have more power then a god in the entirery of the tower, so please manage it well." I said and immediately felt a rush of happiness from the System.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. I will make sure to do the best job possible." It then disconnected from my mind and went on to work. The System is essentially the counsciousness of the entire tower, and it can't really be killed by any other means other then completely obliterating this place. Or me simply wishing it dead, that too.
Still, for normal humans or even gods, it's almost impossible. I built this tower using void matter and pure darkness whilst the inside is all enhanced with heaven's blessing. Plus, the System has enough mana to destroy the entire world, although it can only use it inside the tower. It can essentially do whatever it wants in the tower, even mess with the laws of reality to a small degree.
Still, I wasn't satisfied. Not because the tower was bad, no. I was unsatisfied with the System. I don't want a fanatical follower to occupy this place, no. I want a nice and friendly subordinate who will do the best for me, even if it means disobeying me. And the first step towards that is giving it a name.
"System, I'm sorry for bothering you so early again, but manifest here for a second."
As soon as I said that, a stunningly beautiful elven girl appeared in front of me, bowing down. She looked up at me with curious eyes, and I simply responded at her look with a smile of my own.
"Dear, you are essentially my child. I don't wish for you to just be a mindless slave, but a free and free-willed follower of mine. Thus, I will have to ask you to choose a name of your own. System simply sounds... robotical?"
I already knew what she was going to choose, but I still asked anyway. I made her after all.
"B-but, Your Majesty, I would never dare!"
"Hush you. I want a friend out of you, not a slave." I said with a tone that left no room for arguments, and the girl tightened her lips a bit before breaking into a smile. I knew that if I would give her a personality right at the start, it might change after a while. After all, personality and experience have a very, very small line and easily get mixed up. It's easy to have your personality be changed after a while of living, so I created her in a blank state, only adding a couple traits that shouldn't hinder her too much.

"Well... I'm not too sure... but maybe Lex would be good?" I nodded at her. As I said, I already knew she would choose this, but who cares?
"Yes dear. From now on you are Lex. Thank you for this request of mine, you're free to go." I said, and she melted back into the floor, going back to her work.
Meanwhile, I simply slumped down on my bed, my cat plushie in my cuddle-happy hands. With a sigh, I got to my second project. With but a thought, the entire [System] of the world came under my control.
With this, I could literally eliminate any local god with but a click, not that it had any use since I could do so anyway. Still, I mentally typed a message and sent it through the entirety of the world, gods included.
An unknown entity has appeared. Conquer the [Infinity Palace] in order to discover the entity. Any being/party who conquers the dungeon will receive immense rewards. [Rank X]
Satisfied with the message, I sent it across to every single living being in the world, intelligent or not. I did warn them of the dangers though, as [Rank X] is considered a threat of the highest level.
Hopefully, they will bring in some fun. Still, it will take them a while to discover where said [Infinity Palace] is and how to get here. Hopefully not longer then a couple years though.
Curious, I tried to take a look at my own stats on the [System], but unfortunately the things just went [Error, unknown entity].
I shrugged at the stupidity of this [System]. After all, I know some worlds where their systems are strong enough to literally pulverize planets with but a thought. Hell, some [Systems] even have a consciousness, but not this one since it's still very young.
Smiling, I materialize an old-style TV and sit down on my bed. I turn on said TV whilst laying on my bed, my legs unpurposefully kicking randomly over me. It's been such a long time since I was able to relax like this, so why not take advantage and watch a couple animes?
Whilst I certainly could not call myself an anime-fanatic, I certainly did not mind watching them in my free time. I mean, they are as old as humanity itself, so why would they disappear? It's kind of like fire, it always spreads even if it extinguishes somewhere.
Thus, I spent several weeks lazing around in my room. Lex did say that a couple of dragons did pass by and try to destroy the tower, but she shooed them away using a couple of blasters. She said that she made some cannons on the walls of the palace to deal with annoying enemies outside, but she won't use them unless it's necessary.
As for me, I mostly watched animes, read books, played games and ate. I first gathered all the best foods in existance and then dug into them. I even erased my knowledge of their taste in order to make it a suprise.
Then, one day, I was suddently greeted by a strange phenomenon. Well, I knew it could happend, but I wasn't sure if it would.
The space near a corner of my room suddently began cracking, and after a little bit it shattered, revealing 6 humans, well, gods actually, but they were in human shape all the same.
I lazily eyed them from my couch, my legs crossed and my arms lazily draped on the backrest of the couch. They looked around, confused before finally looking at me.
They all stilled a bit when they saw me, but a girl, the Fire Goddess, slowly said "Are you the unknown entity?"
I remained silent for a bit, before breaking into giggling. I happily said "Yup! That would indeed be me. How boring though, to bypass all of my defenses using teleportation. Really, I was going to put up a barrier against it, but I thought it would be fun if you guys came~!"
The gods who assaulted my private time were the major gods of this world, A.K.A the generic Fire God, Water God, Air God, Earth God, Light God and Dark God. Together, they used their combined powers to achieve what a Space God could achieve with litte effort, which is still impressive.
The Light Goddess came up to me, her sword drawn and pointed it at me "Invader, I don't know what you want to do with our world, but I will stop you if you have any evil intentions."
The Dark God sneered, but I ignored him. My head slowly turned towards the Light God, a twisted smile forming on it as the darkness creeped up on the right side of my face.
"Evil? Evil is but a prospective. Furthermore, you have done some pretty bad things, Elissa."
The Light Goddess had a blank look on her face, so I continued "You know, starting crusades, corrupting your followers and making them destroy any and all demons, turning them against countries who question you, forcing your own clergy towards favoring those who you can manipulate more easily... The list goes on, dear." I said with a creepy smile.
The Goddess had bewildered eyes, just as all the other Gods did. I ignored them and said "Well, whatever. I don't care what you mortals do, just don't interrupt my fun. Otherwise..."
I slowly raised my left arm and pointed my index finger at the Light Goddess, who quickly activated her divine powers and shot a giant light beam at me. It merely fiddled out of existance as Lex devoured the mana though.
Then, before any of them could respond, a wave of creeping darkness shot out from my finger and coiled around the Light Goddess, she screamed and trashed, trying to free herself, but she naturally could not.
The other Gods tried to act, but were firmly locked in place with but a mere thought of mine. I just wanted to show off a bit with them, as I could always just erase their existances, but where's the fun in that?
Soon, the darkness had completely devoured the Light Goddess, and it slowly returned into my finger. The other Gods watched terrified, but were completely unable to act.
There are certain Gods who can break laws of existance easily, just as there are Gods who are but simple mortals who gained access to divine energy. There is a certain difference between the two, and these ones happend to be the latter type. They are naturally much, much weaker.
The darkness retracted from the right side of my face and returned to the left. I then held my right hand out and a small ball of light came our from my palm. It slowly floated back to where the gods were.
When the ball reached them, it exploded, revealing an unconscious Light Goddess inside of it. "Oh, don't worry too much, I merely showed her what happend to those she considered 'Evil'. I made her go through their entire lives, each and every one of them. Now, if you want to tell your followers to come and conquer my palace, please do. After all, it's pretty boring here. I'll grant one wish to the God over the first human/demon/elf/beastman party that makes it to the top, so do entertain me. Disappear."
Naturally, I teleported them back to where they invaded from. After that, I closed the spacial crack and formed yet another barrier all around my palace. No God, deity nor mage could now get in without first passing through the prepared dungeon.
Smiling slightly, I whispered "Good my ass... That girl really needs to learn what it's like to be constantly judged by your race or job..."
