Chapter 24 : Booming confetti

The King sat upon his throne, a defined jaw and long nose, his hair was a light chestnut colour, his lavish purple cloak rested behind him exposing his equally expensive white clothes. A golden crown resting on his head. He sturred a glass of wine in his hand.

The tall man, dressed in black wearing a disinterested face walked into the throne room with his hand upraised. "Hey, your highness, what's up?" the man asked, he wore a pair of glasses, had black combed hair and a fedora like a hat.

The king let out an irritated sigh, "Would you stop addressing me so casually, brother?" the king demanded.

"Sure thing bro." The man responded, the same disinterested look on his face.

The king sat back defeated, "Alright, Ephen. Just tell me the report and leave." the king demanded.

"Sure thing, man." the man responded, "All our men are dead." The man added before turning one hundred and eighty degrees and began walking out.

The king stared at the man with a look of shock and confusion. "Where the hell do you think you're going?!" The king called to Ephen.

Ephen turned back around switching to a more sarcastic voice, "But Eddy didn't you tell me to leave." despite the bored look the man put his hands up to his mouth as if to cover up laughter.

"DO NOT CALL ME EDDY!" the king yelled.

A hooded figure wielding two daggers jumped at Ephen from the shadows resting the blades inches from his throat. despite this, the disinterested look never left his face.

"My, my. It looks like your defences haven't changed at all, bro." Ephan commented.

"They're lacking." He added.

Ephan was holding two solid silver pistol like weapons against the back of the figure's head.

The room was silent for a few seconds before Ephan let out a laugh, his face still bores, "Well, how'd my performance go?" Asked Ephan making his weapons turn into shimmering dust in an instant as the hooded figure fall back to the floor.

Ephan shot the king a momentary look of seriousness to which the king flinched, "Let's avoid these games in the future, we're in a war you know, bro." Ephan said as he began walking away.

"The report!" The king reminded.

"Ah yes, they're all dead, the lizards are mostly dead too though, I'll go check it out tomorrow," Ephan said concisely before walking out of the throne room, giving his brother a wave as he did.
