Stood in front of me was a spider that was two-metre tall with a black armoured exoskeleton. It looked at me with eight big red eyes.
<<
A Demon Spider? It does look very intimidating.
"Let's go for it."
<<>>
"A name, huh?... Let's go with Kumo."
<<
"Can I see Kumo's status?"
<<

I turned around to see Lilliana, Rolph and the village chief staring at me with their mouths aghast.
"Meet my new companion, Kumo."
"Masato... is that a Demon spider?" asked Lilliana.
"Umm yeah, she is a Demon Spider Queen."
"Masato, how can you be so calm?! A Demon Spider Queen is an S-Rank monster that can take down a whole country on its own."
Kumo can destroy a whole county on its own, huh? I guess rank S is pretty strong, but Estiel's the Mithril Golem was an A rank, and I think it was pretty weak. I wonder what rank I am?
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
"By the way, how does this ranking system work?"
"The ranking system is used to determine how strong a monster or an individual is. The lowest rank would be F, whilst S is the highest," explained Rolph.
"Oh, so S-Rank is the highest. I suppose Kumo's powerful."
"Of course she is. It would require a rank S mercenary party to have a chance of taking one down, and there's only one party in this world." Rolph chuckled.
"By the way, Masato, Do you know anything about the threads from Demon Spiders?" interrupted Lilliana.
"Unfortunately, I do not," I replied truthfully.
"Demon Spider threads are one of the finest materials in this world. Even noble's have a difficult time trying to get their hands on them!"
Lilliana went on and on about how excellent Demon Spider threads were. Apparently, nobles and royalty would pay thousands of gold to acquire Demon Spider threads. Since Demon Spiders are so strong, therefore they do not often appear on the market. As I thought about it, Kumo's threads were literally gold.
I would have a stable source of money unless the market price goes down. I was going to ask Lilliana about this worlds money when suddenly I sensed the ground rumbling.

"Rolph, what rank are Forest Bulls, and can Kumo take them down?"
"Forest Bulls? They're E-Rank. With Kumo here, it would be a one-sided battle....wait," Rolph stopped mid-sentence as he had realised something.
I pointed to the direction where I could see a massive dust cloud approaching. Several bulls with greenish skin were charging towards us.
"Rolph, take Lilliana and the village chief as far as you can. Kumo and I are going to deal with this."
Rolph nodded in acknowledgement. Protecting Lilliana was his main priority.
"Masato, please be careful," said Lilliana before leaving.
I turned to face my new companion, looking forward to seeing what this giant spider could do.
As the herd of bulls got closer, I stood by Kumo with my Mithril Spear in hand. Kumo propelled herself forward using her eight legs whilst launching nets made out of her threads.
A few Forest Bulls were caught in her webs. The other bulls noticed Kumo and tried to ram into her with their horns. However, Kumo's body was so hard that some of their horns broke off.
I had no difficulties; the Mithril Spear was very sharp and was pretty easy to handle. And before I noticed, there were twenty dead, seven trapped in Kumo's web, whilst poisoned. Just as Rolph said, it was a one-sided battle.
Rolph, Lilliana, and the Village Chief appeared after I notified them that the battle was over.
"Wow, that's amazing, Masato." praised Lilliana.
"Masato, why don't you join the Duke's private army? I will make sure you get a good position and salary." offered Rolph.
"Umm, I'll think about it..." I replied for now since I didn't have any plans except maybe joining the mercenary guild.
"Oh, by the way, are Forest Bull's meat edible?"
"Of course they are, and they taste pretty good."
"Masato, I can call the men from the village to help you carry them back." suggested the Village Chief.
"Ah, don't worry about that," I replied as I tapped a dead Forest Bull with the ring, and its whole body was sucked in. "I can just store it in my ring."
"Amazing, a ring enchanted with a storage spell. Where did you get such a thing?!" exclaimed Lilliana.
"Uhh, my parents left it for me..."
"Ah, okay, sorry for bringing up your past."
"No worries, anyways, I better start collecting them. Do you guys want to head back first and get everyone in the village ready to prepare the Forest Bull meat? We'll share these with the whole village for dinner."
"Very well, let's go, Rolph."
"Thank you very much, Masato. Not only did you save us and gave us new equipment, but you are also sharing food. If this village could do anything for you, don't hesitate to ask!" announced the Village chief.
"Huh yeah, sure.."
I was finally alone. I turned around to see Kumo, who was staring blankly at the field of meat. Maybe it was hungry?
I told Kumo that she could have the ones she caught, and she immediately jumped and started eating. It was a gruesome scene as she tore off chunks of meat, but I guess that's how they ate.
I finished gathering all twenty Forest Bulls and saw that Kumo had picked up her five of her Forest Bull and placed it in front of me.
"You want me to store it for you?"
Kumo nodded by moving up and down. Despite being a two-metre tall spider monster, she was rather lovable in some way. Immediately as I thought that, she ripped another Forest Bull apart and started eating.
