As Gren left for the Garden, Belv had started to doubt that this 'Anya' was the same as the Ortig she knew. The God she knew as Ortig was fearless, brave, and full of life. But the thing before her was Anya who proved herself to be care-free, pressed, and seemingly dead inside all at once. Normally it'd be a stretch to describe someone as dead inside but Anya fit the bill to a tee. The look in her eyes said it all. It was as if the lights were left on but no one was home. This scared Belv much more than it should have, she's a Goddess after all. And what could possibly strike fear into a deity?
"You're not going to ask?" Belv decides speak first.
"Ask what?" Anya responds.
"What's been happeing while you were away? Who's still around? Not even the status of the nine races?"
"I think you mean eight. The ninth race were actually comprised of my believers."
"Actually some dragons never left the planet with you. Some of them are still alive and kicking. With kids even, not even sure how that managed to happen since their supposed to be streile!"
"Well I guess I'm not surprised. My dragons have always been a tad bit prideful. Hah...even with me. Which is why I left a little parting gift"
"Well whatever. Not my problem. So you're not at all curious?"
"Nope. By the way, I need to be somewhere within the next hour or so. So you can either go back to your little 'paradise' now or you can come with me and see something mindblowing. Either way I'm leaving now, so choose." A distortion in the air can be felt as reality itself begins to shift.
"I'll stick with you for now, I have nothing better to do so why not?"
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Alright then, hold on tight"
Following this warning was a brilliant flash of light that would've blinded any mere mortal nearly a dozen times over. Except, in the case of a deity who was caught off guard it was just a flash and some disorientation; possibly blindness. Afterwards the ocean that was previously split in half returned to its normal state as if nothing happened in the first place. It even appeared as if it was relieved that such an entity no longer imposed her will upon it.
"Agh! What the hell!?"
"I did say to get ready."
"Noooo. You said to hold onto something. Not even close your eyes for the big flash of light. Damn this stings!"
"Oh get over it ya baby. It was only a small flash. Nothing too dangerous."
"Yeah yeah whatver. By the way... where the hell are we and what the hell is that?"
Anya and Belv were currently inside of a spacious cave with walls covered in roots. The roots extended from the middle of the room where they wrapped around a luminescent crystal. Within that crystal was a humanoid figure in what looks like suspended animation. Words can only go so far to describe such a sight that could only be accurately understood by seeing it ones own eyes. That said, it was truly a magnificent sight to behold.
"You and Gren wanted to know what I was doing while I was off planet? Well here it is. The answer to all of your questions. Except one, that is."
"Where are we? More importantly, how did you manage to hide this?"
"I think you mean how did I manage to hide from the sight of the Elders? Easy. They're sight covers the entire planet without fail. So that would mean we aarrrreee....?"
"Uhhhhhh...... deep underground, maybe?"
".....A- are you serious? Geez, nearly three thousand years and you're still as dumb as a rock."
"I am not!!"
"I guess you're right about that Belv. That'd be an insult to rocks everywhere."
"That's right. I- I HEARD THAT!! ARRGGHH!!!"
"Hahaha- It's cute and all that you're trying to hit me, key word: trying, but I should show you where we are and save myself the trouble of explaining."
With a wave of her arm the entire cave becomes transparent and the endless depths of space are revealed. A fair distance away is the bright and yellow Sun. Close by is the planet they reside on. Their planet Homeward and its three moons Biko, Magne, and Poe with each moon nearly identical to the other. The sight is overwhelming and Belv stops her attempts on Anya's life to stand in awe, almost entirely unable to comprehend her situation. Almost.
