In the last chapter Hiro's group of 4 entered a town under siege. After dispatching the welcoming party. Hiro sensed two powerful enemies. Snow and Korin took on one while Hiro and Foria took on the other. This chapter describes the events that occured with Snow and Korin. Enjoy.
Snow and Korin quickly ran towards the southern section of the village.
"What is that smell?" asked Korin.
"I don't know" replied Snow
This area was the market place of the village. Since the attacks, all of the shops were in ruin. Some were even on fire. As they got closer to the center of the market a horrible sight became more and more clear. The savage orcs had piled up bodies of the dead villagers and set them on fire. The smell of smoke and charred human flesh was the disgusting odor that they had smelled.
"I'm going to be..... OOOOOHHHHHLlllkkkk!" Korin vomited on the ground while Snow could only turn his head in disgust.
The sight of his people like this made his anger boil over. His aura began to show in a thick yellow shroud around him.
“Who did this?! Where are you? Come out and show yourself so that I can watch you die!!” Not a sound could be heard as his voice boomed. From inside one of the nearby buildings an arrow was shot. Korin and Snow easily dodged it. Then several orcs and goblins came out from various buildings.
Snow readied his shield. “No. I’ll take care of these” said Korin. He slowly walked up as the orcs created a circle around them.
Snow could not only see but feel the power that Korin had begun to display. It sent a chill down his spine. “To think that someone so young could possess this much power, this generation is truly frightening.”
Korin raised his head and said, “You animals dare do this to my home? I will teach you the meaning of pain.” His body was trembling with the anger and rage he was feeling. Korin clenched his fist and his aura gathered in his hands. It looked like he was holding on to electricity; or rather he wrapped his hands with it. He attacked the orcs using only his hands.
“I have never seen such a technique.” He watched as Korin moved extremely well for a mage. His combination of balance and speed was top notch. As he moved the orcs swung their pitiful clubs and short swords but these sluggish movements were not match for Korin’s graceful attacks. Each attack seemed like a lightning bolt struck its victim. Whatever part Korin touched on their body would immediately be electrified causing massive damage and sometimes even an explosion.
He hit the first goblin in the temple. The punch was so devastating that the goblin’s head exploded. The next two goblins he struck in the chest creating large holes in their torsos. The holes were so big that you could see clean through them to the other side. Snow watched on as Korin made short work of the final 2 orcs. One he hit in the knee. The blow ended up causing it to explode severing the leg at the knee. The orc fell down writhing in pain at the loss of his limb.
Korin left him their saying,”I’ll be back for you in a minute.”
Korin then dodged underneath of a terribly inaccurate and wild head strike from the last orc’s short sword. After dodging Korin grabbed the orc but its face and it exploded in his hands. The gory scene left Korin covered in blood and panting with a look of rage still on his face. His bloodlust had not yet been quenched. He moved back to the orc that was on the ground.
“I’m going to take my time with you” The orc tried to escape but with only one leg it could not manage to get away from the deranged looking man. He grabbed the orcs other leg and it exploded. He then grabbed the orcs shoulders one at a time they exploded as well causing its arms to be severed from its body. Now the orc was nothing but a torso. Its cries were horrible. Korin then cast a lightning spell on the orc causing it to convulse so much that it began to froth at the mouth. Finally, Korin hit his chest so hard that the orc’s entire torso blew apart. Korin’s hands lost the lightning and Korin let out a breath. He had used a large part of his mana and his stamina. He was exhausted with sweat pouring from his brow.
As he relaxed a dagger flew over. Snow caught in his hands. They both looked up and saw what appeared to be another orc but he was different.
“This must be the powerful one Hiro sensed”, Korin said to Snow. Snow nodded in agreement then he readied his shield.
“You rest I will take this one”
Blade in hand, Snow walked towards the enemy. He had never seen an orc like this before. It did not have the extremely powerful muscular body. It was fit and trim. Its body looked more like a dancer than the normal body builder type that orcs usually had. Its skin was also jet back with yellow eyes. This look was much different from the normal.
“What is that thing?” Snow said to himself.
“You think you can kill my men?” said the orc.
“It talked!” Korin said to Snow. Snow looked back at Korin wide eyed. Neither had ever heard of an orc that could speak let alone well enough to make a complete sentence.
“I killed your men because they killed the people of my hometown like animals. Then set them on fire as if they were meat. You and your men ravaged my town and for that you will all pay with your lives!” screamed Korin.
“Ho ho…. You think you have what it takes to kill me pitiful human? I'm different than those that you have already killed.”
"You will die the same as they did. Just wait and see" , said Snow.
The orc readied its two sabres one in each hand. “Come do your worst!”
Snow looked at the enemy. The black orc did not have any spectacular equipment from what he could see. He only had the weapons in his hands, a pair of ragged leather pants, and a leather vest on his chest. Snow thought, “This enemy must be built for fast movements.”
He asked Korin, “Can you still use that bind magic?”

“Yes, but it will take a few minutes. My anger caused me to use almost all of my mana. I’m sorry I lost it when I saw the burning bodies.”
“No need to explain. I would have done the same. My blood is boiling even now with rage for what they have done here. Listen carefully as I have a plan.”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Regain your mana while I engage the enemy. I want to test its fighting skills. If it is not strong enough to put me in any real danger rest assured I will slay that beast. If it is powerful wait for my signal and then cast bind on it.”
“I got it.”
“Good. Once it is bound I will kill it. I’m going to battle him and keep his attention while you regain your mana. Quickly began preparing the trap."
"Alright!" Korin sat down and began to meditate to restore his mana.
Snow moved forward to engage the enemy. The two warriors were set to battle it out. The orc rushed at Snow with incredible speed. It leaped into the air coming down with a series of crushing blows. Thanks to the shield Hiro created Snow was able to block the orcs ferocious volley of attacks.
“These blows are heavy. How is it doing this with just those weak weapons? Don’t tell me it is somehow able to use ki. If that is the case this is definitely going to be tough. Snow enhanced his body with his ki. His strength increased dramatically. He pushed back the orcs blades knocking it back and charged at it.
“Not bad said the orc, but you are 1000 years too early!” It charged at Snow and they crossed blades. Neither did any damage. The orc blocked Snow’s blade with its own blade and Snow blocked the orc’s attack with his shield. The stalemate quickly ended with a headbutt to Snow's nose and a vicious boot to his chest. Snow flew back about 15 meters. When he stood up his nose was bleeding. He put his finger to the side of his nose and blew out. The blood flew onto the ground. Snow licked the blood that remained on his lips. His blood boiled this was the first time in a while that he was in a good battle.
“This thing is tough! I’m using my ki to its maximum and I can barely keep up. I hope Korin is almost ready."
The orc sped up again and Snow began to get pushed back. The power of the orc’s attack increased as well. Snow could barely keep up. The orc slashed at Snow with both blades. Even with the heaviness of the blows from the orc, Snow’s shield was still too strong for the orc to pierce but Snow began to give up some ground. Snow continued to back up as the orc pressed his attack forward. Blow after blow landed on Snow's shield but it did not wilt under the attacks. Snow's arm however began to feel the effects. His arm was going numb and soon he would not be able to hold the shield anymore. The orc landed one more heavy blow on Snow’s shield. This time it was successful in blowing his shield to the side, exposing Snow to its next attack. The orc licked its lips as he knew his prey was as good as dead.
Just then Snow said, “Now Korin!”
Korin made a gesture with his hand then 3 binding ropes came up on the orc. Korin had no more mana and fell to his knees. The orc’s body was completely trapped. Snow rushed in and slammed the orc with his shield. The orc flew back about 30 to 40 meters into the side of a wall. Upon impact the orc let out a cough filled with blood. The plan was a success. The orc was in bad shape. The binding spell wore off but the damage and been done.
The orc coughed again as it struggled to get back to its feet. Snow walked slowly closer to the monster. It tried to charge Snow while letting out a loud but not so threatening cry. Snow was unaffected. The orc's movements had dulled and Snow was able to see through them now. Snow met its double blade attack with his shield. This time Snow focused his ki into his arm creating a huge shockwave as he struck the blades. The shock from him meeting the blades broke what little form the orc had left. It was in an awkward position as its arms had been blow far its right as Snow brought an attack towards the orc’s left side. The orc somehow managed to defend against Snow’s sword attacks with both it swords but Snow struck it across the arm and shoulder with his shield. Snow could feel the orc’s arm and ribs break with the attack.
The orc now was lying on the ground bloody and gasping for air. It cursed Snow and Korin.
Korin laughed as he rose to his feet saying, “I guess a 100 years passed pretty quickly you bastard!”
“Do you want to do the honors Korin?”
Korin nodded his head, “I do but I don’t have the strength to do so right now. You do it Snow. Just do me one favor.”
“What is that Korin?”
“Make him suffer!”
“With pleasure!” Snow walked slowly to the orc whose face was no longer filled with confidence. It was now faced with fear as it knew the shadow of death was upon him. “For taking the life of all of these people I am going to cut you into the same amount of pieces.”
“No! You can’t! Just kill me already!”
“I will but you are going to suffer before you die!”
Snow lifted his blade and cut off both of the orc’s hands. Then he cut off both of its feet and moved on cutting it in pieces little by little. The orc screamed in agony which was like a sweet melody for Korin. Finally, the orc was nothing but a mass of blood and guts. Snow turned to Korin and said, “It is done friend. Your people have been avenged.”
“Thank you!” Snow helped him to his feet. Korin created a spell of water and doused the flames that had engulfed his fallen townspeople.
“I will give you all proper burial once this is all over I promise” said Korin.
He clasped his hands and closed his eyes saying a short prayer. Then he and Snow surveyed the area. It was completely clear of orcs and goblins. As they began to look for survivors they thought to themselves about how Hiro and Foria were doing on their side.
