The pitch dark room was cold, if it could even be called a room; but more of a void of space like the theater Pro rarely woke up in her dreams. A flash of blinding light from above blinded Pro then her vision adjusted to the table she was seated at. Everything else surrounding her was barely recognizable and might as well have been the void. Her wrists were bound by handcuffs and she couldn't use her magic to melt the bindings lest she scar her wrists. Filling the silence was the sound of a door opening then closing and the man who entered stepped to the empty seat across from Pro, but he chose not to sit. Instead, he placed a folder on the table.
He had tan skin, was tall and his hair sharp like his wit and white much like Kyokai's. He carried his shoulders high, being a former soldier in the military he had a demeanor only men in the military could have that intimated even the strongest men and the strongest magicians.
"Ahh… Pro. You're quite a varied character being a witch and all. The most powerful fire witch I've come across at least. I suppose that's why you decided to use your power to fight dragons." He tapped the file twice. "How about you tell me about these dragons? Where did they come from? Are you perhaps just imagining things in your head?"
Pro stared back at him not intimidated in the slightest nor finding the entire interrogation scene humorous. Her eye twitched once. "Kris, take the handcuffs off or else."
"Yeah! And why do you have to do this in my house? Get out!"
Kris pinched his nose. "I see..." And the last of the lights turned on revealing them to be in the kitchen of Cocoa's mansion where they could discuss the superdimension privately. "You're always serious when I'm around, Pro. As a student you should lighten up."
"I'm fricking handcuffed!"
"Sorry 'bout that." Naoto, the brother of Lari, slipped in the key and unlocked her bindings. Naoto had his hair cut short compared to his sister and his personality was a lot more stern than how lax Lari could be. He mostly stuck to Kris rather than the council hence his business like attitude but that didn't mean he couldn't see the fun in things like staging this interrogation.
Kyokai, leaning on the wall behind Pro, was curious about one thing. "How did you come to the conclusion that we're fighting dragons?"
Kris snapped his fingers signaling for Lari and Naoto to explain in his stead.
Lari raised one finger. "It started when I started sensing high magical energy lingering in specific places. The school roof and the back pathway. Since you're the only ones who frequent the roof, I chalked it up to you testing your magic in secret. But when I sensed the magic behind the school, I knew something was off."
She lifted a second finger. "After you exposed Hinata and Shoji in your story about fighting the yakuza, I knew something wasn't right. The photos showed students not only cut up, but burned and zapped by magic--in order to frame you. The yakuza are nothing more than a myth nowadays and they certainly aren't mages otherwise the TGA would be after them. Hinata and Shoji aren't proficient in magic which leads to a third party being the cause of their death."
Naoto did the same as his sister, lifting one finger while explaining their point. "Cocoa's disappearance was pretty big. She vanished without leaving a trace in sight. Kris and I were still around the TGA and asked her father about it and he didn't have a clue. No one in their right mind would think about touching his daughter and let's say they had. Well Cocoa is quite skilled in thunder magic and would have no problem getting free from her captor. Though the TGA made the practice of magic illegal, using it to defend yourself is still a heavily debated topic. But I digress. Not too long after she disappeared, somehow you manage to find and return her home, and the next day coincidentally her father falls into a coma."
He raised his second finger "That next day you and Cocoa were very friendly with each other. That next day you vanished from behind the school leaving the same trace of magic Lari found on the rooftop. When Kris and I returned from our work we all decided to confront you on these mysteries."
They placed their hands together making a 'W' with their fingers. Lari picked up where Naoto left off, "From outside the door we heard dragon slayer and that sealed the deal."
Everyone in the room had their mouths agape at their brilliant secret detective work they had been doing while Murakumo wasn't looking. Pro was more impressed than on edge. Alas, she had to tell them the truth behind the scenes, what led up to them discovering the superdimension and everything leading up to now. Though Kris was instructed to not allow the kids to use their magic, having seen the fruits of their labor, he was understanding of their mission to slay all the dragons and save the world. They knew far more about how magic worked than the members of Murakumo did. Which called into question,
"You don't know France Grand Magic Theory?" Cocoa shot her and Kyokai a baffled glance to which they shrugged in response. She rolled her eyes. "Idiots… No wonder you had your asses kicked by that girl. Without understanding the basic fundamentals of magic you were never going to win."
"Leader! How are they going to learn without you leading them?" Kris brought her authority and title into question, his mature voice sent a chill down Cocoa's spine. For a second she thought her father had walked in and shouted at her.
"W-well," She averted her eyes. "Where should I begin…"
To start, everyone is born with magic and a single predetermined element based on genetics. Although there are many people who seemingly don't have magic, this doesn't mean they are permanently without magic. The first category of magic, simple magic, is made up of five elements. Fire, thunder, wind, dark and light. Fire, thunder and wind are the most commonly seen while light and dark require a specific rare gene--or so scientists say. The power and color of an individual's magic is based on the visible spectrum of light and wavelengths.
"The natural element fire and magic fire are different but they share some qualities. And fire, being the weakest of the simple category, will always be red, as according to the spectrum of visible light."

But that's not to say it couldn't be taken to its limits, purple flames. Same with the other elements. There are heavy drawbacks for having lots of magic inside a person's body and casting strong spells. A person with too much magic in their body will eventually start falling apart, having their organs fail or just explode from the power; and for a person casting too many strong spells, their body will eventually give out forever--drained not only of mana and stamina but their life as well. It's what happened to Pro when she shot out uncontrolled flames, a lack of practice can lead to a person's death.
Kyokai lowered his head. "Jeez… I didn't know it could be that bad. I can imagine all sorts of implications for a person getting reckless with magic. Is that why the TGA made practicing it illegal?" he asked Kris in particular.
"It's for a different reason. Confidential."
"That doesn't mean we agree with the decision though." Lari said. "There's more to magic than what meets the eye. Defeating dragons like you are for instance."
This calmed Kyokai a little. He raised his head and rubbed his chin confused about another thing. "So there's five elements but my magic doesn't fit into any of them. I can't shoot fireballs or command thunder and wind from my fingertips, and I don't think I have that rare gene for light and dark magic."
Cocoa flipped her hair. "I was just about to get into that, Kyodumb." she couldn't hold back from insulting his intelligence.
The next category of magic was complex magic. This is where the elements truly got strange and these were uncommon in people. Non, holy, arcane, and star; just by hearing these no one could tell what they meant or what they did. The non element was the absence of magic, an elementless element, a contradictory magic. Quickening speed, going invisible and being able to see through walls were things non magic could do, a very utility only element that was neither strong nor weak. Arcane was in theory, made up of three elements from the simple category to create a different element. There wasn't much unique to this element other than it being very powerful. Star however, was the power to manipulate gravity among other things, and the element the stranger they fought used. Whereas wind would've quickened her attack with gravity and wind resistance still warning the opponent, star magic made it so there was no resistance at at with her swings. She could make her gravity react completely different, and perhaps more if she wanted it to be so. And if she wanted, she could make the sword continually move in a single direction forever, ignoring the laws of physics. Lastly, there was holy. Only those blessed could use this element, whatever that meant. It was the only element that could cure wounds and heal.
Cocoa took a deep breath after the explanation. "Does that answer everything?"
"That's a lot to remember." Pro frowned "How are we supposed to practice our magic without dying from it?"
Naoto answered, "By keeping your mind calm and your wavelength steady. You have to focus on how much energy you output and manipulate it to what form suits you. Kyokai already has a good grasp on it since his non magic mimics the form of computers. There are books on it but I'm sure the TGA is out hunting for those books."
That was all there was to know about their situation and magic. Now no longer needing to keep their dragon slaying status a secret from the rest of Murakumo they could openly discuss in their council room. A group of seven plus three all eager to slay dragons and save the world, Cocoa never imagined herself in the position where she would take center stage in front of a crowd of students where she would announce her new role as the student council president and Pro to take the position as vice president. A change that had mixed reception but nonetheless they cheered for their new glorious cat president.
But behind the scenes after the speech Cocoa would throw up in the bushes like Luka and fall dead onto the same bench she once did. Sophie stopped by her and dropped her a quick glance, but upon laying her eyes on the red armband on her right arm, she freaked. "Murakumo..!"
She did a double take around making sure no bystanders were watching before she stepped forward reaching out slowly with her hand trembling.
"Sophie..?"
"Oh!" Surprised by Luka's sudden arrival, she jumped back. "What a coincidence. Were you stalking me?"
"Shouldn't I be saying that to you, Sophie?"
Luka's cheeks were then pinched by Sophie while she ranted.
"Stop calling me Sophie! Use Tatesaya, that's much cooler."
"O-kay."
Afterwards she would exhale and return her gaze to the armband on Cocoa. "I see the council has become bigger, but was it the right choice to pick Cocoa as the new president?"
A question Luka shrugged her shoulders at. Sophie herself was torn at the decision, letting Murakumo do what they felt was best but she wanted the wishes of the previous president to be fulfilled to the fullest. Her cheeks flushed red as she reached out again to touch the sleeping cat's forehead. This was enough to wake her from her nap and when their eyes connected, Sophie hopped back nearly stumbling over. She changed her tone into something more deadpan and bowed. "Sorry for disturbing your sleep. I'll be on my way." Then hurried off to parts unknown leaving Cocoa confused by their first meeting. The feeling of her hand was so gentle and serene.
"Who was…" Cocoa muttered and fell back to silence. Then she aimed her finger at Luka and furrowed her brow. "Ugh! You pervert! You tried touching my body didn't you?"
"Nope! You're too mean." Luka rolled her eyes while walking away to go home by herself.
Far behind she could hear Cocoa yelling at her, "Whatever jerk! I'm the leader now so you have to be respectful or else!"
But it was unlikely those words reached.
The new leader, Cocoa, went onward to the council room by herself. Smirking all the while since she was talk of the school and leader of the prestigious student council, but all her gloating and aura of superiority crumbled away when she saw the stacks of requests neatly wrapped with a bow; curiosity of Kris.
"W-what is this?!"
To answer her question, "Don't you know how the council works? We have to solve and filter through student requests. All of us." Said Remy on the couch, flipping through a newspaper.
Across from her, sitting on the opposite couch was Maine. "It's our job to ensure the school's safety and satisfaction y'know?"
Cocoa stomped her foot "But what about the dragons!"
"Pro's the only one who can take us to the superdimension until Lari and Naoto find a way to transfer us." Maine frowned. "She probably went on with Kyokai and Gachi which leaves us to these requests."
Cocoa walked over to the stack of papers and picked the first one to look at. The client's request; 'I think there's a ghost haunting my classroom, please help I'm scared!'
So this is what the council dealt with. Cocoa couldn't believe what she was seeing. Maybe joining the council wasn't the wisest decision afterall.
