The screaming woke the old man up however, since he was a necromancer and was used to such noises, it didn’t fully wake him. The sound of bones snapping did clear the remaining sleepiness surrounding his mind and what he saw made him want to scream in anger.
Anna had once again pinned Ben to the ground but unlike before where she was chewing a piece of flesh now she was chewing his entire left FOOT! Ben having just passed out due to blood loss, from Anna’s earlier and current escapade was in a state of near death.
“HE JUST BECAME MILADYS CHAMPION AND NOW YOUR EATING HIM?!!!”
Anna just tilted her head at the old man then continued to savour Ben’s flesh.
“ARRGH!” Screamed the old man “Unfit whore I should never have revived you!!” I would like to point out that the old man is now making shooing gestures with his arms.
Anna narrowed her eyes at the old man.
“Get off him! RIGHT! NOW!” He shouted right in her face. “You young worthless ghoul!”
Anna her eyes having a dangerous glint in them, proceeded to slowly stand up. She even stopped chewing.
“Humph, that’s how an undead should behave.” The old man said arrogantly “now let me see just how bad his wound is.” Pushing Anna out of the way. After a examining the wound and casting lesser aqua heal (repeatedly) to stop the bleeding, the old man began his assessment “Jagged cut along the leg severing half his shin bone and foot, small bone fragments in his muscle around the shin bone, 12 in total and torn perfectly good ligaments. Terrible job, she must still be under the effects of a newly raised undead to be this bad.”
Unknown to the old man while he was treating (?) Ben, Anna had put the foot she was chewing before down and began circling around him. He did notice however when he found himself missing an arm and half his leg. “W-w-w-w-what the hell-l-l-l-l???” He stuttered with eyes opened wide.
“That is what you get for insulting me.” Said Anna while picking up the leg she put down before “oh, and if you tell him I can talk I will do, a whole lot worse.” She smiled with a sweet smile drenched in Ben’s blood and wasn’t so sweet.
Terrified by the power she had just displayed and fearful for his life the old man spammed lesser aqua heal on himself to connect his missing limbs back together.
However he now had no mana to treat Ben even though a lesser heal had no power to restore a lost limb it could’ve still sealed the wound but due to his research and curiosity over his god’s new champion he refrained from doing so.
Luckily by some twist of fate Ben’s eyes fluttered open and he regained consciousness. After a second to recollect his thoughts Ben starred daggers at his familiar who blithely ignored him and continued chewing on his foot. “Sigh at least ask before ripping my foot off Anna, I know you could do at least that much.” Ben said staring at her.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Anna slightly shocked over her ability to talk having been found out so suddenly, quickly looked away. “You know you’re my blood bonded familiar so I do know your basic thoughts right?” Her face which Ben only saw from the side was pinkish after he previously spoke now became a deep red colour. To quickly hide her embarrassment she fled back into the tunnel. With his foot of course.
“I don’t know whether to praise you for making that girl embarrassed, or feel terrified.” The old man muttered after watching that scene.
“She became my familiar through a blood bond, different to you and Francis, our minds will always be connected till the day one of us dies.” Ben Stated “Anyway on to learning, I gained one spell with the class change Raise Undead.”
“Ah yes” the old man praised “our Class’s staple spell, you will need a corpse and 30 mana to cast it, however your maximum is a bit….” The old man trailed off seeing Ben’s outrageous stats again.
“I know my stats are outrageous for someone my age, since the average stat number is eleven for common villagers, however my parents are anything but ordinary, and they left me with a nifty treat for when I choose my class.” At this point Ben rolled up his sleeve on his right arm and a gleaming red and black armlet appeared.
“Is that a…….” the old man asked dumbfounded.
“Yep” said Ben “but this isn’t what I was talking about.” at which point Ben focused his mana on the gleaming band and six potions appeared out of thin air. “Oh wait, better to get something to heal this foot.” And suddenly a seventh potion appeared next to the original six.
“t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y” The old man stuttered
“Yes, these are legendary Stat increasing potions, one for each stat, and a master crafted elixir of healing!” Ben said proudly. The wealth this boy just displayed seemed to fry the old man’s brain.
‘Just one of these potions would cause small kingdoms to wage a war over them’ he thought ‘who the hell is this kids parents?!’
After quaffing the potions down, and watching part of his leg and foot regrow, Ben’s maximum mana now had enough mana to cast a single spell. “Hey old man, you don’t mind if I borrow one of the goblin corpses right?”
The old man could only nod dumbly too shocked by Ben to do anything else. He was still trying to process everything this man had done in a few hours.
Ben smiling happily left the room and went off into the cave to find the goblins.
*At the place where the Earth Mage ambushed Anna and Lance*
A cloaked figure landed on the ground near the place where the earth mage died.
The figure raised its hands above the bloodstains left on the ground from Anna eating. It then mumbled an incomprehensible chant.
something began rising from the ground.
“Damn old man” the figure cursed, now completed whatever summoning spell it had performed. "how dare he destroy my flesh golem, and I spent so long imbuining it with enough intelligence to cast basic earth spells.” Here it teared up a bit before looking at the thing it just raised.
“At least there was enough matter left behind to give you some of her abilities.” It stated looking at the creature. “Now go hunt the one’s that killed your kin.”
The figure gestured for it to go into the forest however the creature just ran straight past it and slaughtered a random bunny. “It’s going to be a long night.” The figure sighed “why couldn’t it have at least some of the brains of the golem?”
