Chapter 3: Tomato juice

Chapter 3: Tomato juice

Though it didn’t seem much for Rain, eating food with onions for one week straight was a harsh punishment for Josef, but he had to take responsibility for the chaos he caused in the cafeteria. Marco’s punishment was to wear a silver necklace for two weeks.

They can’t runaway from their punishment because if they do, the truth seekers will find out and they’ll be expelled from the academy.

“It’s all that mutt’s fault...”

“It’s also your fault, if you didn’t provoke him, then none of that would have happen.”

“But I hate him...”

“What a childish reason.”

“It’s not childish! You don’t understand! I just...”

“Keep quiet and accept your punishment like a man. Don’t bother me while I’m studying.”

Since her tour around the academy was over, Rain decided to spend the rest of the day studying in advance. Reading is the only past time she has.

“T-then I’ll study too.”

Despite Josef’s personality, he was the top of his school before. He has stayed at the top since birth, but it wasn’t only because of talent but also because of his hard work.

In the afternoon, Marco barged in, destroying the door of their room.

“Human! Because of you I have to wear this!” Said Marco as he pointed at the silver necklace around his neck which was irritating his skin.

“Marco!” Said Josef as he stood up from his bed.

“Beat it Josef, I’m not after you right now! I’m after that vixen!” Said Marco as he walked to Rain who was studying.

Josef went between them and said. “I won’t let you get near her!”

“You really want to die that badly!?”

“You think I’m afraid of you!?”

“Quiet!” Said Rain.

“H-how dare you raise your voice!” Said Marco.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay quiet?” Said Rain as she glared at Marco. “You know what I hate the most? It’s being interrupted when I’m reading.” She walked to them.

“Y-you think I’m afraid?”

“Rain stay behind me!”

“It’s ok, stand back.” Said Rain as she walked past Josef and looked Marco in the eye. “Make this quick, what do you want?”

“I want to hit you!”

“You’re going to hit me?”

“Of course I will, you think I won’t hit you because you’re a woman? Don’t think too highly of yourself human!”

“Do you really want to hit me?”

“I told you I will!”

“So you want to prolong the time you have to wear that necklace?”

“Kuh”

“If you hit me, I’ll die. If that happens, you’ll probably wear that for a month or more.”

“W-why would they punish me for killing a lowly human?” Said Marco as he took a step back.

“Maybe they won’t, but what if they will? I don’t really know.” Rain opened her arms. “Here, hit me with your strongest attack and see if you’ll get punished from doing so.”

Sweat formed on Marco’s forehead. “Tsk”

“What are you waiting for? Hit me.” Said Rain as she walked closer to Marco, with her arms still open.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“I-I won’t forget this humiliation!” Said Marco as he ran away.

“Coward” Said Rain as she went back to her bed. “Josef, when will that door get fixed?”

“I-I’ll tell the teachers.” Said Josef as he ran out of the room, feeling slight fear from Rain who defeated Marco simply by speaking.

Rain could kill Marco effortlessly, but she doesn’t want to use her strength like that. She has lived hiding her powers, but in turn, she developed a way to fight back without using strength.

Since she knew how Marco’s mind worked based on his conversation with Josef, Rain was able to use words to defeat him. She only decided to kill Josef earlier since she didn’t have a full grasp of his personality then.

Josef came back with people, who fixed the door in just ten minutes.

After that, their room became quiet, and Rain peacefully spent the day reading books. She knew the basic concepts, so she finished half a quarter’s worth of lessons for all subjects.

They ate dinner at the cafeteria, which was suprisingly fixed in just a few hours. Other students still gazed at Rain, but there was none that interrupted them.

They also saw Marco, who just ignored them and sat on a different table.

“A-amazing” Said Josef who can’t believe Marco was staying quiet.

After they got back to their room, Rain slept, since she has nothing good to do.

Around midnight, with none to see him, Josef awoke and pulled a blood pack from under his bed. He glanced once at Rain and after seeing her still asleep, he drank the blood.

Vampires have to drink blood once a month, or else they’ll weaken. Sucking blood has been a tradition for vampires, and they usually pair up with a monster to do it; most of the time a succubus or an incubus.

Though drinking from a blood pack has the same effect as sucking blood, tradition is still tradition. Those who can’t suck blood are either babies with no sharp canine, or cowards.

“So you do drink from a blood pack.” Said Rain who wasn’t wearing her glasses and was still drowsy.

Josef instantly hid the blood pack behind him and said. “I-it’s just juice, tomato juice. W-wait, why are you awake?”

“I just feel like going to the rest room *yawn*”

“...”

He watched Rain walk out of the room. Once she was out, Josef drank the blood as fast as he could, so he could throw the pack before Rain comes back.

“Josef, I don’t know where the rest room is.”

“I-it’s not a blood pack.”

“I don’t care if you’re drinking from a blood pack, just guide me to the rest room.”

“I-it’s tomato juice.”

“Yes, it’s tomato juice, so guide me to the rest room already...”

In the end, Josef guided Rain to the rest room while drinking from the blood pack. Luckily, none saw him.
