The bat was trying desperately to dodge the incoming attacks only to fail in the last minute as it was blown up from the void missiles. A roaring laugh was heard as a green warlock was almost falling over laughing at the little blown up bat, “ Just look at the thing, its like popping a grape!” he said in between laughs. A few feet next to him was a grotesque monster with about a dozen smaller eyes with a Huge eye the size of a face on the center of its body, it was simply floating off the ground by magic. Each eye was looking in a different direction but the main eye was watching the warlock as it played with the dungeon monsters flying around them. It just floated there, a grim face on.
The warlock eventually stopped laughing at the bloody spectacle and looked over at the beholder “Mecsh why the round face” the warlock could barely talk before making a joke and breaking out in laughter again. “Get it? Round? Instead of long? Because your a Beholder?” as the warlock broke back into laughter the beholder just sighed, while waiting for his master to calm down. A few minutes later they got back to moving down the hallway they were in.
“Mecsh, have you tried predicting what has been going on here?” Urga asked the beholder with a rarely seen serious face. “I have” Mecsh responded with a slight twinkle in its eyes and bearing a smirk. “What did you see” Mecsh simply explained “an assassin” Urga gave mecsh a hard stare and simply spoke “Be specific about what you had seen Mecsh” Mechsh lost the smirk that he had been carrying. “I saw a monster that looked female, although what her race was I’m uncertain”
Urga continued walking forward before speaking to himself “just what type of monster could kill this many. He was referring to the fact that there had been 3 times as many deaths in the past month or so than in the past year. Over 60 deaths, which, in a green zone, was an insane amount. Not many monsters were capable of such a number of deaths in this area, unless they were extremely lost, high leveled, or stupid. The first two were very much so unlikely as there for the first, there was a city near here. The second was also unlikely because monsters generally become smarter the higher level they are. Only the third was possible but even that was a stretch to go on.
A few minutes later and they had gotten to a fork in the road, looking a bit ahead to the left where mud replaces stone and grass and ivy grow with a vitality known only to plants and their eternal search for higher grounds, on the right was an area with less grass and mud and more stones. A rocky area that seemed to belong to the very depths of the planet its self, stalactites hanging from above and stalagmites pointed towards the sky looking as if they were spears waiting for their enemy to fall upon them. “Lets head left” Urga suddenly said to Mecsh who simply nodded with his whole body. As soon as they went left they were almost suffocated by the plant life around them, simply living. “If we weren't here to find that creature I would burn all of this to the ground just so I don't have to deal with it,”
Urga said with a tone in his voice that suggested that he wasn't kidding. They continued down the path for a good half hour before one of Mecsh’s eye stalks looked behind them and saw a lapse in the wall as if there was a mirage behind them. He kept staring at it till it seemed to just disappear beneath his gaze, as it vanished he started looking around more before he found it again.
Mecsh smirked inwardly and tried to set up a telepathic signal to the mirage as it surprisingly went through. Hello little assassin, what are you doing here? At the sound of him speaking, the mirage that was moving froze where it was Don't worry it is just me, we are speaking telepathically to each other through my mental prowess. The mirage then shifted again and appeared a few feet to his left, ‘What are you?’ it asked me though it spoke in a guttural and hoarse tone yet still distinctly feminine as if it had never spoken before, which was completely possible. I am a Beholder, an ancient, a demon of knowledge and vision. However, the more important question is what are you? I spoke back to the obviously female creature which had piqued Mecsh’s interest ‘.....I don't know’ it spoke back in that same voice, however, upon hearing her answer, Mecsh froze. Y-you don't know what you are? He asked with an obviously confused voice. ‘...........yes?’ Mecsh started to hold back a laugh as he didn't want to get caught talking to her by Urga. ‘laugh and I will kill you’ he however immediately stopped as even though demons can't truly die they still feel the pain and if what she looks like from the mirage is real, then his death would be extremely painful. Alright, alright calm down. Now then do you know what your race is?
He asked her with a far more humble and peaceful tone. ‘...no’ Mecsh’s main eye twitched a bit at her answer to his question, he was silent for about half a minute before he thought of a possible answer to his problem. Did you check your status? It should have honestly been obvious as most monsters aren't even aware of their status till later levels. ‘What is status?’ she responded with a curious tone in her voice. Simply say status out loud he answered as if it was the easiest thing ever.
The little assassin looked at Urga before I put her fears to rest just whisper it to yourself if you're afraid he will hear you. He saw her visibly relax at his words before he heard a whisper so faint you would need ears better than a bat to hear them say “Status”. ‘What do I do now?’ her voice this time contained an excitement not previously there now tell me wha- before he could finish what he was telling her he was called over by Urga who shouted “Mecsh get your round ass over here, I’m going to head back so I'm going to un-summon you first.” as Mecsh was floating over to Urga he thought back to the little assassin in the caves and asked her I suppose I won't get to know what you are this time, so do me a favor instead and once I'm gone kill this old fool for me so I don't have to deal with his jokes anymore. ‘...sure’
She replied as she saw him start to float off towards Urga. as she watched him she herself slowly started to move towards Urga herself and get into position behind him with her scythes stretched backward so she could get in a good clean strike with her weaponry. She waited till he dropped his guard so she could try to slice off his head, and such an opportunity came when he finally finished un-summoning Mecsh. As soon as he did that she swung her scythes towards his neck, unfortunately as she was about to cut off his head a blue see-through shield came around his body and expanded to about 3 feet around him so her weapons just sliced not into flesh as she was used to but rather into a shield.

Urga, however, was terrified that she had appeared behind him without his noticing and he jumped back before starting to chant a spell, a small dense ball of what could be considered shadow at a distance gathered in one spot in front of him “ShadowBolt!” he shouted after he finished chanting, and the bolt shot out towards the Wraith at high speeds (like a car on a highway fast). Sensing danger from the dense, albeit small ball, she hopped out of the way as it flew past and hit the wall behind it. Once it hit the wall it was like the area a foot around it was sucked up into it and then it exploded shooting off rock everywhere. The wraith was EXTREMELY surprised that such a small thing could pack such a powerful punch to it.
She turned around towards him again only to see him about to shoot off another bolt, now knowing exactly how bad it would be to be hit by such a spell she began to move quickly around him hoping to make him miss by making herself blend in around her and then continue flying. “ShadowBolt” was shouted again by the warlock and this time it scraped off a bit of her ‘leg’. Although it was only a bit of her leg, the nature of magic felt like it had been slowly ripped from her body causing her to shriek in pain, feeling angry that she had let herself get hit she forced herself to head straight at the warlock before he could shoot off another spell. Within half a second she was already in front of him, her scythes and claws rapidly slicing away at the shield surrounding him. Her speed was comparable to that of a tornado at its top speed, circling and spinning with gusto. Soon enough the shield started to falter and the warlock began to pick up on the chanting.
The wraith realized what was happening and immediately dodged back as he shot a ShadowBolt into the spot she was just in. soon realizing that he had missed and that with his shield almost down, the orcish warlock’s face paled and he began to turn around and run from the monster, as he ran the Wraith immediately chased after him and with her being a great deal faster than him caught up with him immediately and was once again working on the shield. Almost immediately the shield cracked and shattered leaving the warlock defenseless from her. Her jaw widened as she smiled at the walking snack in front of her. Immediately she stabbed him in the chest.

The Wraith Looked down at the body before her which had been ripped to shreds in her anger at both him for damaging her and causing her pain and at herself for letting herself be hit by him. As she was thinking to herself that she needs to learn how to win fights easier another box popped up in front of her.
Level Up!
Congratulations You are now a level 15 Wraith
Hand to Hand Mastery increased to level 6
Skill List: Wraith
Unlocked Skills: Camouflage, Assassination
Available Skills: Misdirection, Natural Armor, Phase
You can unlock 1 additional skill from this job
The Wraith once again was ecstatic about the ending part of the box as this was the third time she had seen it and by now she knew what it meant. she looked around her before starting to devour the body left behind by the warlock. torn as his body was, it was still food that she could eat, and eat she would as she immediately began devouring it. she then began to look at the new window that popped up and she checked what each one of them were.
Misdirection
Description: Allows the Assassin to create a small noise at a target location.
Requirements: Assassination, Stealth, DEX 40
Type: Active, Area
Activation Time: Instant
Cost: 50 Mana
Range: 15 Meters
Effect: Create a small noise with the purpose of attracting attention.
The MP cost, range, and types of noises available all improve with each Level of this Skill.
The Wraith immediately understood what she could use this for and exactly how useful it was once she read it. while hunting she could just get behind the enemy and then have a noise go off somewhere in the distance and while the prey was distracted she could kill it. she could also use it for escaping from a tough situation by making an enemy think there was someone behind them while she escaped. quite useful in the right scenario.
Natural Armor
Description: Monsters are known for their tough hides that can shrug off anything and everything.
Requirements: Level 5 Monster Job, END 10
Type: Passive
Activation Time: N/A
Cost: N/A
Range: Self
Effects: Reduces all incoming damage by 1% per Level of this Skill.
Provides an additional +2 END per Level of this Skill.
This was a natural choice for anyone to make as many things need armor to help protect them. today showed that to the wraith as she could have been killed from one of those shadowbolts by that warlock.
Phase
Description: allows the user to phase through things
Requirements: level 15 monster job, Int 50
Type: Active
Activation time: Instant
Cost: 10 MP/min depending on how dense something is.
Effect: it allows the user to phase through objects or people and it makes it easier or harder depending on how dense it is. For example, it's easier to phase through water than granite.
MP cost for Density decreases with each level, also +2 INT for every level in this skill
This skill may as well be a cheat as she could just slip into the wall and appear behind the enemy and stab them through the head and boom instant meal or she could escape to a different part of a building to get away from enemies. again another useful ability depending on the situation she decided that she would probably go with natural armor or phase as misdirection has too few circumstances that it would help in compared to the other two skills. for now, she would choose natural armor as it would be more immediate besides she needs more END and the thought of shrugging off attacks here and there is a nice one. later on, she could choose a phase where she could use it to have an escape route.
