Before a mirror stood a five year old girl. In her right hand she held a brush and in her left was a streak of her glossy, shoulder-long brown hair. She admired herself through the mirror and prepared herself for the day. Her face looked like that of her mother, light blue eyes, a small nose and mouth. Of course her skin was as white as milk too.
`Hmm, looks good. Well then, let´s go.´, the little girl thought to herself.
She walked out of her fancy room with a nice arrangement of furniture. The princess´ room was of course wide and high. There was a double bed which looked really princess like with its pink bed sheet, the mirror with a cupboard and a fancy wardrobe. The window offered a view inside the courtyard of the castle and the carpeted floor was fluffy and felt good between one´s toes.
"Good morning, Daddy, Mommy, Lucas, Roselia, Alexander and James!“, the princess happily shouted throughout the dining room.
"Good morning Liticiya. How are you doing today?“, the queen asked.
"Lucia, you only have to look at her. She is doing fine.“, Charles, the king, replied before Liticiya could even speak a word.
"Come here Liticiya. I am going to feed you again.“, Lucas, her older brother, offered her to feed her. Over the last 5 years he grew really attached to his sister, because of her cute acting in his presence.
"Sure, I am coming! And hopp!“, Liticiya jumped at Lucas lap and waited for him to feed her with his fork.
"Here you go.“, Lucas shoved some eggs from his plate and put them into his little sister´s mouth.
"Mhh… They are so tasty. Hey, Hey, brother will you teach me to read today too?“, Liticiya stared at Lucas with upturned eyes full of expectations. In the last 5 years Liticiya noticed that the characters in this world were different than those in her previous life and in order to read the instructions on cultivation techniques she had to read. Thus she persuaded Lucas to teach her.
At this cute expression Lucas scratched his head and said embarrassedly: "O-of course, visit me later in my room.“
Everyone else in the room had to giggle at the sweet interaction between those two and finally Lucas noticed the strange atmosphere.
"What´s the matter?“
"It´s so funny Lucas how you talk to your younger sister and in contrast to everyone else. If you are with her you look like you have become a father recently and with anybody else you act unapproachable and majestic.“, Alexander smirked.
"Yeah, your brother´s right. You are not even so nice to me. Even though I am your wife…“, Roselia pouted a bit to tease Lucas. The both of them are married for 3 years and have a good relationship towards each other.
A little bit shocked at Roselia´s reaction he hurriedly said: "No no, we will go to town today and I will buy you some jewellery.“
"You said you would teach me to read today!“, Liticiya mumbled with teary eyes and buried her head inside Lucas chest.
The first prince looked startled, he blundered himself into trouble and looked helpless towards someone who could help him.
"Ah, I will teach Liticiya how to read and you can go with Roselia for a stroll in the town.“, the queen said and twinked at her son.
Relieved Lucas said: "You hear it Roselia, we will go to town after the breakfast. And Liticiya, come on I will teach you tomorrow, but now eat up.“
"Sure, sure. Feed me!“, the little girl immediately recovered and wiped the tears from her acting out of her eyes and looked towards her mother.
`Even if Lucas can´t help me, there is my mother.´, she was truly blessed with her family. Everyone was nice to her and she hadn´t to worry about any life necessities like in her last life. She truly enjoyed her new life and the child life she couldn´t live before.
Later Liticiya entered the royal library where her mother waited for her.
"Come over here Liticiya. I have already found a good book.“, the queen waved towards her daughter.
"A book about cultivation?!“, Liticiya excitedly asked.
"No, I know you are obsessed with cultivating, but you know that you are only allowed to start cultivating at the age of 6. Before that it is too dangerous because the mind isn´t developed enough.“
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
That didn´t matter for Liticiya of course, she was after all mentally an adult. So she did something like cultivating every evening.
"I will read about a war between humanity and the beasts which happened over thousand of years ago. Afterwards, I will teach you the characters seriously.“, the queen declared and was proud at her own motherly instincts to read this classic tale for her daughter.
Unmoved, but also a bit curious Liticiya answered: "… Please begin to read.“
"Sit on my lap, then it is possible to read with me. Well then, I will begin. Thousand of years ago the demonic beasts on this continent had a leader and were united. They were ferocious and killed every human they would see. Every single town would see its demise in front of the amount of attacking beasts.
But eventually the holy church came into existence. At those times they weren´t the church you know from today, back then they were an elite army of priests. Finally, humans were able to win against the demonic beasts and drive them back into the woods, where they came from.
After many battles, a single man split off from the priests´ main force and defeated the leader of the beasts who was a gigantic black dragon. The dragon lived inside a cave and commanded from there every living beast. When the leader was killed the beasts fell into disorder and were easily wiped out by the priests. The man who killed the dragon was afterwards revered as a hero.“
`Looks like a classic fairy tale, I would say. Nothing really surprising happens…´, Liticiya almost yawned, but concentrated herself again to decipher the strange characters in the book. Although the story was finished her mother didn´t stop talking.
"Well, if you read between the lines you will find out interesting things like that the priests back then were unfortunately extremely fanatic. Don´t ever dare to say that in the presence of a priest. The church wasn´t satisfied with the demise of the demon beasts. Every race who didn´t worship their four major gods had to die. Thus the demons, elves and dwarfs were hunted all over the continent and tortured until their death. Finally they fled over the sea.
Nowadays the holy church is a peaceful organisation, but still discriminates against every other race than humanity. All nations on this continent are backed by the church, but fortunately former kings of our Justoria Kingdom were able to negotiate with the church about the discrimination and were able to strike down a deal with them. Thus, our kingdom was able to establish a law which allows other races to live normally. Naturally, not everybody thinks of them as equals which keeps the immigration rate incredibly low. Furthermore the demons, elves and dwarfs hate us for what we humans have done to them and some are extremely aggressive towards us.
The demons have established their own kingdoms on their continent and occasionally raid seatowns with their marine. Moreover no human was ever able to enter their territory and come back alive. Their kingdoms´ securities are fantastic. Trade with products only happens in the regions near the harbor of the cities which are on the seaside. Those cities were never left by a human alive before.
The elves and dwarfs are rather mysterious races. Both live in seclusion, the elves in the forests and the dwarfs in the mountain ranges. Occasionally a tool made by a dwarf would be bought by a merchant overseas and then shipped back home. Those lucky merchants can after they sold the weapon live a carefree life. By the way, in the royal treasury we have a sword from the demon continent.“
`Wow, this is interesting. I should definitely read books regarding geographical and political issues too when I am able to read.´, the little girl found an interest in the history of the continent and the other races.
"Well, I went a bit overboard. I love history, but enough already. I am now going to teach you the characters. Look and listen carefully.“
"Alright, mommy.“, Liticiya answered full of vigor.
