Chapter 6

Eliah was meeting her friend today. She was called Anne.

Anne was a beautiful, intelligent woman. She had long, black hair and dark brown eyes. She was tall and slender, and wore elegant clothes. She was very fashionable.

"Hi, Eliah," she said. "How are you?"

"Fine," Eliah answered. "Very fine."

"I'm glad to hear that," Anne said. "Do you want something to drink?"

"Sure," Eliah answered. "Something light."

They ordered drinks and talked for hours.

"So, how is your life?" Anne asked.

"It's great," Eliah answered. "I have a wonderful boyfriend, and I'm working in a fancy restaurant."

"Wow, that sounds amazing," Anne said. "Tell me more about him."

"He's smart," Eliah explained. "And kind. He's the best thing that ever happened to me."

"Sounds perfect," Anne said. "What's his name?"

"His name is *****," Eliah answered. "***** ********"

"***** ********? T-that's a nice name," Anne said while smiling. "What does he do for a living?"

"He works at a bank," Eliah explained. "But he wants to be a writer someday."

"That's great!" Anne exclaimed. "I wish I could write books."

"Me too," Eliah said. "But I'm afraid I'll never become a famous author. My parents don't approve. They say it's too risky."

"Don't worry about that," Anne reassured. "If you want it badly enough, you'll get it."

"Thanks," Eliah said. "You're such a good listener."

"Don't mention it," Anne replied. "What else is bothering you?"

"Nothing," Eliah lied. "Everything's just great."

"Okay," Anne said. "Well, I'd better go. I promised my husband I would cook dinner tonight."

"Okay," Eliah said. "Take care."

"Bye," Anne replied.

"See you soon, my friend," she added.

"Yeah, see you later," Eliah replied.

When Anne left, she was smiling.

She had fun talking to her friend.

Eliah took out her phone and sent a text message to her boyfriend.

"I miss you," she wrote. "I hope you're having a good time without me."

"..." her boyfriend texted back. "..."

"I know," Eliah replied. "I forgive you. I love you."

She smiled. She kissed the phone screen. Then she put it away.
