It’s evening time in the log cabin town. Inside one of the log cabins, Saige lays back in a bathtub filled with warm water, with a big smile on his face. “Warm water! Nice!! Ha ha!”, Saige says out loud.

Meanwhile, from outside the bathroom, Mai, in a wrapped towel, sits on a bed with the woman known as, “Blue Phoenix”, who is wearing a casual blue sweater and black jogging pants now, while they’re with an older woman, wearing a green dress, with an apron.

“Sorry for his loudness.”, Mai says. The older woman then answers back, “That’s quite alright. This is the least we can do after you saved our village and my daughter, “Kelsey”.”. “No problem for us. So your name’s Kelsey, not Blue Phoenix?”, Mai says while smiling tauntingly. “Kelsey is my secret identity. Blue Phoenix is my hero role! Only a select few know about it, but I’m willing to give up my secret identity for fellow heroes.”, Kelsey states.

“Fellow heroes?”, Mai ponders. “Yeah, like White Talon in there.”, Kelsey says. Mai then sighs and answers with, “Right.”. “Although, it’s weird he didn’t have a costume.”, Kelsey says, as Mai looks back at her with a questioning expression, wondering why it would be weird to ‘not’ have a costume on. “Listen, that’s not White Talon. I’m Mai and his name is Saige.”, Mai states.

“Are you two dating?”, Kelsey asks. “W-What? Never. Not in a million years.”, Mai states while blushing suddenly. “So why are you two traveling alone together?”, Kelsey asks. “It’s kind of a long story.. or not, but let’s just say he helped me out of a jam, agreed to join my cause and now we’re traveling back to my settlement.”, Mai responds. “Oh.”, Kelsey says with a surprise expression.

Kelsey’s mom then comes in with a question, “Don’t mind me asking, but how old are you two? Just seems dangerous to travel in a pack of two only.”, “Trust me, we can handle ourselves. Also, don’t worry I’m 20 and Saige is... actually... Hey Saige, how old are you!?”, Mai says. “I was 19 some months ago! I think.. 20 now!?”, Saige responds from behind the door. “Oh wow, we’re the same age??”, Mai says.

“I’m 18.”, Kelsey also answers back. “Oh so you are old enough to fight.”, Mai states. “Yes I am, ma’am.”, Kelsey answers back. “But that didn’t seem like fighting. How long have bandits been coming to your settlement?”, Mai states and questions. Kelsey puts her head down. Kelsey’s mom then answers for Kelsey, “Just over a year now. It use to be a large crowd, until it lowered down to just three bandits. The first time they came to our town, we got overpowered by them. Now we’ve just accepted them routinely visiting the town to take from us.”, “That’s awful.”, Mai states.

Kelsey’s mom continues, “Yes. They just come in and take some food from each of us then leave. We consider it like a payment for them to leave us alone, but some months back, my daughter decided to stand up to them. She came up each time they showed up, to try to take them down, but she always managed to get badly beaten up. I couldn’t do anything for the longest time, but watch. But now that you’ve come here, my daughter had a better fighting chance and didn’t have to risk her life.” Kelsey’s mom then begins to tear up.

Mai listened well to the story, as Saige has listened in too, as he now sits with a slight angered expression, soaking in the bathroom tub. “This is the kind of thing you have to consider Kelsey, you’re making your mom worry.”, Mai says. “But I wanna be like my dad.”, Kelsey states. “Huh?”, Mai questions.

“He was fearless and use to serve in the war of humans versus demons.. until.. he died during battle. But ever since then I’ve dawned his armour to try to make him proud!”, Kelsey says in an inspired way. Saige then finally steps out of the bathroom, but without a towel on. “Listen, you can’t just face these things without any experience in fighting. Leave the bandits to us! We’ll take em on.”, Saige says, with a courageous demeanor.

Mai, Kelsey and Kelsey’s mom just look onward in embarrassment for Saige. “What?”, Saige asks, right before looking down. “Oh forgot a towel”, Saige states while answering his own question. “Cover up you pervert!”, Mai shouts at him, while going to punch Saige in the head. “Alright! ALRIGHT! DON’T HIT ME!”, Saige bellows while dodging the hit.

It’s now the next day, and Saige and Mai are inside the house, as Saige now has on a new white T-shirt, red shorts and black shoes. Meanwhile, Mai has on an orange T-shirt, tan cargo pants and her brown boots. “Hope this helps you both. My daughter and late husband’s clothes seem to suit you well. They should help cover you until your clothes dry on the line.”, Kelsey’s mom, says. “Thank you so much.” Mai answers back. “Yeah, thanks. Hey can I keep this?”, Saige says while looking down at the T-shirt. “Sure”, Kelsey’s mom says.

“And I will come along to lead the way to the bandits! Should be right near Airy Town.”, Kelsey says, while dawning on her armour. “Airy Town?”, Mai responds. “Yeah, that’s the name of our settlement.”, Kelsey answers. The three then step outside the house. “Becareful now, and Kelsey, you return home right away after you finish leading them.”, Kelsey’s mom says. “Sure mom. Let’s go.”, Kelsey says. The three then head off.
