There’s ants walking in packed lines within a dark place. Suddenly, the ceiling of the dark place is lifted to reveal it was ants hiding under a log, and that Saige has uncovered them.
“Can’t hide from me. Stomp.”, Saige says as he stomps on them. Mai, going down a dirt pathway, infront of Saige, then turns back to confront Saige. “What are you doing?”, Mai says. “Inserting my dominance.”, Saige states. “Leave them alone already, they’re just ants.”, Mai says. Saige then retorts, “Eh, I hate ants. Stomp.”, and he proceeds to stomp on the ants again.
After that hold up, Saige and Mai continue to walk down the dirt pathway, as Saige has his arms behind his head. “So it’s going to be quite a walk before we get to my settlement.”, Mai says. “I can walk. Hey what's the name of your settlement, by the way?”, Saige asks. “Strife Village. What about yours?”, Mai asks back. “Hm? Doesn’t really have a name.”, “Really, the people never named it?”, Mai questions. “The people? The hell are you talking about?”, Saige asks in confusion. “You know, the settlement you were born in.”, Mai states.
“Oh that one. Who cares.”, Saige responds. “What do you mean who cares??”, Mai asks in abit of a concerning and angered tone. Saige responds, “I already said good riddance to it. They kicked me out for being a demo- assuming I’m a demon.”, “Really, what about your parents? Don’t they care about you?”, Mai simply asks.
Saige has a brief pause before answering. “Forget about my parents. Hey what's with you and asking questions?” Saige responds, in pouty tone. “Sooorry. Excuse me if I wanted to know more about the person I’d be travelling with. Plus, it passes the time.”, Mai answers.
Suddenly, catching the two off-guard, stormy grey clouds fill up the sky and a thunderous roar bursts from the clouds.
“Oh don’t tell me it’s gonna rain.”, Mai says. “What’s a little rain gonna do?”, Saige says, mockingly. The clouds then start dripping abit. “Come on, I don’t wanna get wet. Let’s get under somewhere we can stay dry.”, Mai says as she looks around with worry. “Like that tree over there.”, Mai states, before pointing over to a large tree and then heading under it.

“Seriously, you don’t wanna walk in the rain? It’s just a little drizzle.”, Saige says, in a mocking manor. Suddenly there’s more thunderous booms and it rains abit harder. As this happens, Saige’s hair gets all soaked over. Saige has a brief pause before speaking, “Ah, you can still handle it.”. “Even with the lightning?”, Mai retorts. The sky crackles with even more thunderous booming. “Fine, I’ll get under the stupid tree.”, Saige says in defeat.
Now the two sit under the tree and it’s quiet for abit, as the two just hear rapid pitter-patter of rain. Mai then breaks the silence, “Sooo...”. “Please don’t tell me you’re gonna ask more questions about where I came from.”, Saige says in a grumpy manor. “Well sorry if I’m curious now.”, Mai teases. “Maybe respect my privacy.” Saige says. “Really, you’re gonna pull that now?”, Mai says, before suddenly laying down on her back.
Mai then let’s out a long sigh and has a brief pause before speaking again, “Fine. What if I tell you about my history?”. “I already know you’re apart of a group that wants to slay Azrael.”, Saige states. “There’s more to it than that!”, Mai states back, in a bit of an annoyed tone, before continuing to talk. “Like... My parents.” “Huh.”, Saige says. “Did you know they died in the war of humans and demons?”, Mai states in a gloomy way.
Saige’s about to talk, but pauses as if he’s choosing his words. “I see. Well we have that incommon.”, Saige states. “Your parents also died in the war?”, Mai asks. “My dad did, my mom, well.. died by me.” Saige states. “Oh, wait WHAT?”, Mai says in a concerned manor, while sitting back up. “During childbirth, lay back down.”, Saige says to her. “Oh.”, Mai says before laying back down. “She couldn’t handle the special child I was, so she died giving birth to me.”, Saige says, with abit of sarcasm in his speech, when stating that he was a, “special child”. “I’m sorry to hear that.”, Mai says.
“Yeah, and cause of that, I was raised in a shitty orphanage in a shitty town of shitty people.” Saige states with outward anger. Mai, seeing that Saige seems vulnerable to reveal more information on himself, then proceeds to ask another question, to see if he would respond. “So what was the name of your settlement?”, “Creed Town.”, Saige responds. “Creed Town? I know that place.” Mai says. “Yeah?”, Saige asks. “Strife Village gets supplies from them from time to... time.” Mai says, right before ending her speech, believing her speaking more may upset Saige.
The two then continue resting down in silence for abit, until Mai cuts the silence. “Sorry I didn’t mean to piss you off, will you still travel with me?”, “Course. Already came this far with you.”, Saige responds. Mai then smiles to the response and eventually the sun comes out as the clouds stop raining. “Looks like the rain is gone.”, Mai states. “Well let’s get going.”, Saige says. “Okay!”, Mai says with joy. The two then get up and continue on their way down the dirt pathway.
