Mai runs through a forest from a demon-bear, who is twice the size of a grizzly bear and sporting short black horns. “Okay, Saige I’m coming!”, Mai shouts ahead of herself.
Suddenly, Saige bursts out of a bush and punches the demon-bear in the gut, and the demon-bear wrenches in pain. It then backs up, standing on two legs, feeling it’s chest while growing in anger. It then looks at the two with a vicious stare, and gets back on all fours, charges over and bashes Saige away with it’s head. Saige, after flying into a bush and getting abit tangled up then talks, “Hey, he’s strong! I mean real strong!”. “Gah! What do we do!?” Mai asks in concern. “Stop holding back.”, Saige states with a smirk.
Mai then transforms her bat into a mace, swerves around the demon-bear while swirling around the mace, then hits the demon-bear in the back of the head. The demon-bear shakes it’s head around, then goes to swipe at Mai, but Mai dodges backward in time.
“Leave it to me!! HAAAAA!!”, Saige yells as he runs up with a third of a meter long extended demon claws and stabs the demon-bear underneath in the chest, in an uppercut fashion. Saige then forces his hand even more in and guts bursts out the back of the demon-bear. The blood then splatters on Mai.
“Gotchya, ya bastard!”, Saige says as he pulls back out his claws and allows the demon-bear’s body to drop to the ground, lifeless. “Ew, you got guts all over my clothes.”, Mai says in disgust. Saige’s demon parts shrink back down as he turns back to Mai to talk to her, “No big deal, we just gotta find a river.”, “Do you see a river in sight!?”, Mai says angrily. Saige responds, “Well.. no, but...”, “Gah.”, Mai says in annoyance.
They then continue to walk anyway, as Mai’s clothes are still soaked in blood. In eventuality, Saige then speaks, “Wait a second, I hear a river nearby.”. Saige then runs in the direction he hears running water. “Saige, wait, hold on!”, Mai says, as she tries to follow behind him in a jog. They head part-way into forestry, and then come out of bushes on the other side, as they reach a clearing with log cabins in it.
“Hey, a settlement?”, Mai wonders. “Is this Strife Village?”, Saige asks. “I wish, but it’s a place to rest at, probably.”, Mai responds. They then suddenly hear a voice in the distance. “Stop right there!”, the voice shouts. Mai and Saige, to follow where the voice came from, then jog up to hide behind one of the log cabins, while peeking out and seeing what’s happening.

They see a person standing in blue and black armour, with a blue and black helmet on, with a visor, while they wear a black cape. The person stands across from three bandits, as the middle bandit is holding a large sack of stuff. “You again.”, The lead bandit holding the sack says. The armoured stranger then begins to talk in a low-tone voice, “Yes it is I, the great Blue Phoenix!”. The stranger known as, “The Blue Phoenix”, then poses by looking toward the side and putting hands on their hips. “And you will give up what you have stolen!”, Blue Phoenix says in a heroic bellowing voice, while pointing at them.
An old woman nearby then chimes in, “It’s alright, let them leave, you can’t handle them.”. With more notice, Mai and Saige see the villagers all outside and watching the confrontation take place, from the sidelines.
Blue Phoenix then proceeds to take out a gun. “But with my trusty blaster, I can.”, Blue Phoenix responds. “Oh they have a gun this time!?”, The lead bandit says in shock. “Where’d they get that gun?”, an old man villager ponders. “Pew pew pew!”, Blue Phoenix says as they shoot up the place where the bandits are standing, with flashy rounds. “Brrrr! A brrrr!!!”, Blue Phoenix says as they shoot more. The shots are so flashy that it temporarily blinds everyone who’s watching. Finally, when the blindness goes away, everyone sees that the bandits are actually perfectly fine and Blue Phoenix missed every shot.
“I’m sorry...”, Mai says “What?”, Mai and Saige say in unison. The lead bandit then starts speaking, “Ha ha, none of the shots hit!”. The second bandit then chimes in, “looks like it.”, “But you’re in deep trouble now”, the lead bandit says. The lead bandit then walks up to Blue Phoenix, as Blue Phoenix trembles. The lead bandit then picks up Blue Phoenix by the collar and throws off the helmet, revealing a woman with short black hair underneath.
“It’s.. a girl?”, Saige states, questioningly. “Huh.”, Mai says. “Ready to get beat again?”, the lead bandit says. The villagers then close their eyes. “Alright, time we step in.”, Saige says. Saige then walks out of cover and introduces himself in a heroic voice, “It is I! The White Talon!”, Saige then poses with his legs apart, one hand outward, and the other hand lifted up behind his head. “What the...??”, the lead bandit says, quizzically. Mai then comes out of cover and punches Saige in the back of the head. “Hey!”, Saige says. “Take this seriously. Anyway, we’re here to beat you up.”, Mai says.
The third bandit then chimes in, “Oh, they think they can take us on?”. “Stay out of this, it’s 3 to 2, anyway.”, The lead bandit says. Mai then quickly runs up, with her bat and bats the second bandit in the head, knocking him out cold, as Saige runs up and uppercuts the third bandit in the chin, knocking him out as well. “Gah! What!?”, the lead bandit says in surprise. “You were saying?”, Mai says. “Now it’s 2 on 1. Now let Blue Phoenix go!”, Saige says, as he cracks his knuckles. The lead bandit lets go of Blue Phoenix. “And handover that sack you have there.”, Mai says to him, intimidatingly. “Nice try, but I won’t...”, the lead bandit begins to say, right before being punched in the gut by Saige. The lead bandit then falls over, dropping the sack, as Saige picks it up. “Now scram.”, Saige says in an intimidating fashion.
The lead bandit picks up the second and third bandits over his shoulders, and runs away with them saying, “We’ll be back”.
The crowd of villagers then stay still, as they look at Mai and Saige. Saige then drops the sack. “Here, have all your stuff back.”, Saige says. The crowd then cheers and heads on over, as Blue Phoenix looks at Mai and Saige with inspired eyes.
