Just as he made contact, a bit more energetically than he intended, his surroundings vanished. While his arrival in this realm had been accompanied by a blinding white flash, this time his vision went dark. After a moment, the world returned, only it looked very different.
Hector was behind a large waterfall. The roar of water on water and water on rocks was deafening. If Hector wasn’t immortal, he may have been intimidated just being here. As he was about to turn and look at the cavern behind him, he sensed activity out beyond the waterfall. He couldn’t see it; he could feel it.
