Man Here Says He Has A Gun

We've been at this for three hours. No one has figured out to even stand on water yet. Aegir has told us to let the water be one with our feet but that makes no sense. I'm currently on my 57th attempt. I raise my foot up and hover it over the water. I breathe. "Zach, you can do this become one with the water." I slowly descend my foot.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. "Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. Maybe Aegir gave us false advice" I think. I start to imagine the water is ground. I put my foot down. It doesn't go through the water. I did it. I put my other foot down. It worked. I'm standing on the water. "Hey everyone, look at me," I shout. Everyone looks and they're in awe. "Good job," Aegir told me. "He figured out that I lied to you." Everybody lost their shit and they're startled that a celebrity would lie. With all the noise I start to lose my focus. I fell through the water. I try again. I started to walk. It seems very easy. I see other people doing it too.

Then Aegir announced, "Whoever gets there first gets a room all to themselves." I like privacy so I started to book it. I concentrated on making large chunks able to stand on instead of just the part under my feet. I see kids fall into the water. WOOOOSH! I turn my head to my left and I see this kid riding a fucking tidal wave. His wave crashes on the shore. I'm still halfway there. I image something to push me to make me go faster. I make a tube of water. "Good," I say. I put it behind me and WHACK! I overthrew the water. I'm being propelled forward while my back feels a car hit it.

I'm flying through the air and I land on the water. My body like a skipping stone. I swim the rest of the way. As I get up on the island the guy puts his arm out. "Hi, I'm Ashley. But you can call me Ash." I shook his hand. The other people arrive at the temple.

"Alright, let's eat," Aegir cheerfully said.

"Finally," I say. "I'm starving." We go into the building.

The dining hall is massive and really high in luxury. It's about the size of 30 shitty apartments. They're serving seafood. "May I take your order, sir?" A waiter asked. "Yes, I'll have some fried calamari. Uh, please." I responded. Everyone at the tables looks so out of place. The waiters are dressed like they're at a funeral or something. My peers are wearing casual street clothes. Then there's me, a grey t-shirt, leather black vest and faded and ripped jeans. I get bullied because of my fashion sense sometimes but I don't really care. I'm bored so I'm gonna strike up a conversation with Ash.

"Hey."

"Hi."

"How are you?"

I'm good, you?"

"I'm okay, I guess."

"Oh,"

"Hey, what's your deal man?"

"What do you mean?"

"That tidal wave, how'd you do it."

"Well I just imagined a tidal wave and there it was. I saw you tried to use a different technique. Speaking of that, how's your back?"

"It hurts but I'm okay."

We laugh.

Aegir picks up a microphone and starts speaking. "Ok, it's getting late. I want all you in your dorms. Go back to the foyer, boys on the right, girls on the left. I'll be giving you your keys. We get our keys and go up. I have a key to room 153. I go to Ash. "What room did you get?" I ask. "Room 153," He replies. We notice we have the same room and we go up. We start to unpack. As I’m making my bed when I see Ash has a guitar case. “Hey, dude,” I start to ask. “I didn’t know you played guitar.” “Oh, it’s not a guitar,” He responds. I give him a puzzled look. He opens it. “It’s a gun,” Ash says. I start to back up. “Dude, what the hell?” I cautiously say. “Relax,” he responds. “It can’t hurt you, I think.” At this point, I’m freaking out. I make a water ball in my hand just in case. The gun looks like a futuristic Ots-12 Tiss. “Why do you have that?” I ask, my grip on the ball getting tighter. “Dude, chill, I promise I’m not going to hurt you. Just come outside with me, I want to show you that this isn’t an ordinary gun,” he tells me. I nod my head but I made the ball a little bigger.

I follow him outside. He points the gun at a tree and cocks it. These four rectangular lights on the side light up one after another. It has an eerie purple glow. He pulls the trigger and this beam of purple and black energy emits from it. It hits the tree and completely obliterates it. I jump back. I disable the ball and water drips from my hand. “See?” He says. “This is awesome.” I build up the courage to ask him, “Where did you get that?” He looks at it and says, “I stole it from my dad. He’s dead now.” “Oh,” I managed to croak. “I’m sorry for your loss.”

He looks down at the gun again. Then he looks up. “That sunset is pretty, Don’t you think?” Before I could answer we hear an explosion. We look to see where the blast came from and we see this giant cloud of smoke rise up from the sky. “That’s weird,” I say. “It looks like it’s coming right for us.” As it’s getting closer I realized what I was looking at. These people with big black wings and black hair were coming right towards us. “Demons.” Ash whispers. That’s when the air raid sirens started to screech.
