chapter 3

I wake up angry at the other two, this is my room why the fuck did I have to sleep on the floor? It should have been Ragnar. I can't be made at Bradi. I stand up dust myself off, and then look at the two of them, both were sound asleep still. I looked out the window and saw the sun was about to rise. I stop and just watch. It's the only way I feel connected back home is to watch the sun rise and set. I miss my old life sometimes. I miss my parents and my dogs. I landed a job and was finally starting to find my place in the world. I started thinking then it dawned on me what had killed me. The last thing that I can remember from my old life was on a dare slamming a Red Bull with two of those rhino pills. I think that I deserved what I got that was about the dumbest thing that I could have done.

"Tyber what are you doing up already?" Bradi asks. I turn around to see the Orc rubbing her eyes. Her green skin with a slight glow to it from the sunlight.

"Just watching the sunrise, it makes me feel connected to home." I replied. She came up and stood beside me.

"Where is home for you?" she asks while starting to braid her long black hair.

"Far away from here." I replied feeling the pain in my heart. The pain is the same as a fresh breakup.

"Ah, I won't pry, but do you mind if I join you?" She asks. I nod and we just stand in silence watching the sun rise.

"Want to get breakfast together? I'll cover it this time if you get it next time." I ask realizing that I definitely should have eaten dinner last night. She nods and we walk down to the first floor where the cafe is leaving Ragnar to sleep. We both get eggs and bread, but I also get wild boar sausage. At least this world has the delicacy known as sausage and bacon. We make idle chatter for a little then sit in silence, that is till Ragnar came up pissed that we started to eat without him.

"Now we just need to wait on Legris so we can decide on what our day holds for us." Ragnar said.

"Another thing that we need to do is decide who is the party leader." I told them.

"We will do that also when Legris arrives." Ragnar said. We all ate and joked till he arrived. He looked like absolute death. His pale elvish face was marred with the bags under his eyes. We can tell that he didn't sleep a wink.

"What the hell are the three of you looking at?" Legris muttered as he sat down. Ragnar, Bradi, and I busted out laughing at Legris's expense.

"You didn't get any sleep, did you?" Ragnar asked. Legris shook his head.

"I couldn't stop thinking of what happened in the dungeon. I nearly died, and that is a hard thing to shake off." Legris said.

"Ah, but you survived, no?" I asked and Legris glared daggers at me.

"That is beside the point Tyber." Legris shouted.

"Eh calm down now. There is not a reason to lose ye temper. It is the point Legris. If you don't want to be an adventurer anymore just tell us. We will find another member to join the party." Ragnar said firmly.

"Fuck you three I don't have to deal with the likes of a fucking dwarf. Go crawl back into the caves!" Legris finished. Ragnar and Legris both got up. I started when Bradi put her hand on my shoulder and shook her head.

"Want to say that again." Ragnar said with a menacing smile on his face.

"Go crawl back into." That is all Legris finished before his unconscious body hit the ground.

"Eh, Tyber could you do me a favor and help me drag him away from our table? I prefer not to eat around trash." Ragnar said while rubbing the back of his head.

"I got you Ragnar." I replied before we dragged Legris to the middle of the great hall. I decided to cast heal mind on him to heal the concussion I knew he just got. Not because I like him, but because he did help us survive yesterday.

"Is that common?" I ask.

"Sadly, it is all too common. The guild just throws parties together based on rank. Some people can't handle being an adventurer where death is possible. Hell, it's probable." Ragnar replied.

"Well regardless we need one more member to delve the dungeon today." Bradi replied.

"We have a healer, a tank, and a DPS I think that we might be able to without a fourth member. We could get another Legris that would hamper instead of help." Ragnar replied. I agree with him.

"I saw the quest for defeating the second floor earlier. I am confident that I can keep the three of us alive. Let's go to the second floor today!" I replied excitedly. Bradi shook her head and Ragnar grinned. We stood up and walked away from our table and walked over to the counter for me to pay for the breakfast. "The two of you ow me for this." I replied as I paid for breakfast.

We started walking to the dungeon. I always like to walk around the town. It reminds me of Fletz from Legend of Dragoon. It reminds me of the fun times I had with my uncle before he died from cancer. If only we had healing magic in my old life. The only downside to this city which is a stretch of the word is the humidity. Though all in all I enjoyed the walk to the dungeon. It is weird to look at. It is a huge stone tower with stone doors and no windows.

"Alright, the two of ye get ready." Ragnar said. Me and Bradi proceeded to check our gear or lack thereof. Then we all walked to the door. A menu popped up at the door that did not yesterday. It showed both the first and the second floor.

"I think since we cleared the first floor now, we can choose to start on the second floor." I said. Ragnar shrugs and presses the button for the second floor. We walk in and boy howdy does the second floor look vastly different than the first. It is like the open plains of Eurasia. I can't help but wonder how the dungeon does this. I don't have much time in order to be awestruck by the beauty of the place, however. I soon heard the squill of a giant boar. At our level they can be lethal if we are not careful. It didn't take long to find us either.

Ragnar started the show by using taunt to draw the boar to him. It rushed head long into the dwarf's shield. Ragnar's stance was broke, and he fell to the side avoiding the boars' tusks. It started to come back around for another pass at the dwarf when Bradi came out and put a nasty slash down the side of the boar. It lost its focus on Ragnar and started trying to kill Bradi. Ragnar activated the skill taunt again. This brought the boar back to focusing on the dwarf. The boar charged at Ragnar in a blind fury, this time Ragnar was more prepared. As the Boar got close Ragnar activated his skill shield bash. It connected right on the side of the boar's head and put it to sleep. Bradi then walked up to the boar and cut its head off.

The two of them stopped for a breather while I just stood there. I couldn't do much at the moment as I don't have any DPS skills. I looked at their HP. Ragnar lost just a few but not much, and Bradi was full. "Holy hell that was a tuff un." Ragnar said while laughing. "If the two of yas are ready we can search for the boss of this floor." Ragnar said. We nodded and started walking around. We came across the occasional boar.

What is weird about this dungeon is that the floor size compared to the outside make no sense. The floor is huge in here. The second floor is at least a few miles long in either direction, but the outside of the building is maybe a few acres. Magic can let these places do some amazing things I suppose.

As we were walking, I saw smoke rising up into the air. "Should we go check that out?" I asked the other two. Ragnar seemed a little hesitant at first but decided that we should go. What we found however was not what I wanted to see. It was a settlement of goblins which aren't that bad, but the other monster there I haven't seen besides in some manuals. A bugbear!
